Bleach Discussion 0: Hello Darkness my old friend

It's so weird seeing light hearted banter among characters in Kubo's old style.
It's like he forgot how to do that for 10 years.
-
Yessir, let's just keep cramming as many characters into here as we can since it's the final arc and everyone needs to be here.
Who cares about motivation, plot progression, or what they'll contribute to the overall story?
-
-
So, if I understood correctly:
- They are using the Garganta to move around in the Royal Realm.
- Inside Garganta, you need to spend your reiatsu to create a stable path and not get lost inside that chaotic space.
- Urahara decided to use a massive amount of reishi to create a room that could funcion as the "stable path" and accomodate a lot of people inside it without the need of wasting reiatsu.
- He managed to do it by using one of those blobs inside the Garganta, compacting it with Riruka's power and then turning it into a room with Yukio's power. HUGE SUCCESS!!!
Problem is… so far, no one ever worried about the reiatsu wasted to keep a path inside Garganta, probably because you only need to waste like 0,0001% of your reiatsu to maintain it. So... ALL of this was just to avoid this ridicule waste of power that wouldn't matter at all in the end?

I got the implication that it took quite a bit of work to break through into the Royal Realm/Reiyoku. Only Squad Zero could do it easily and the only reason Yhwach could do it at all was because Ichigo had been sent down first, giving him a window of opportunity.

"We must not let this villain reach us!"
"Let's send Ichigo back, even though it will allow the villain to reach us."
"Oh no that allowed the villain to do so."

I've never once argued that Squad Zero were smart people.

One of the things I noticed is that Chad had a token sentence.

LIVING JAGUAR, eh?
Let's see how relevant the aforementioned "Jaguar" is in this chapter… Pfffft!
Urahara solves everything. Nothing new.
That transportation... thing, though. Why it's just an uncreative-looking black box? It's too Cubo even for me. -
Whatever, lets just use Mayuri's reiatsu amplificator to make Ichigo stronger.
-
@.access:
She didn't, she just lost her powers.
She is not the one in this chapter, though, she is this one.
Oh, this one isn't the boot one…
Fuck it, I don't even care. Useless chars from a useless arc.

No, that's the boots one. Her
nenstandFullbring was "Dirty Boots." -

Bravo! Hahahaha xD
-
Man, of all the Fullbrings they just had to bring the (most) insufferable ones.
Where is Jackie? She was the only one I liked.
-
! You would think she ended up in hell and not in Soul Society.

Not that there's much of a difference.
-
-
You never see hell in Bleach.
There was a movie about it. The 4th one, if I recall. Didn't seem that bad (compared to SS).
-
Considering SS in all its glory, I'm pretty sure Hell is where Kubo throws all his good ideas
-
I like to pretend that sometime in the past, Hell and SS somehow switched names, so the current SS is actually Hell, and vice versa. It would explain a lot, namely why SS is such a crappy place to live in.
-
But wait…isn't Grimmjow a panther?
Now that you mention it, you're right rofl. I forgot that his animal theme is underlined by his sword's name.
Then I don't now what the chapter title is about anymore.
-
When were you under the impression that Grimmjow was a panther? He was a jaguar all along.
-
A living Jaguar no less.
Who lives in GhostLand, and is made up of countless dead souls
-
Jaguars are panthers.
Panther refer to jaguars, leopards, lions and tigers (and, not so correctly, cougars).
-
Where's that afro samurai that was in charge of Karakura Town? Hell, bring that guy back! At least he provided some kind of joy in his humorous incompetence compared to gamer boy and doll lady who were a part of one of the/if not the worst arc in all of Bleach.

I find it odd Yoruichi is the one to explain to Ichigo their return and how their powers made the cube, when she even didn't meet them before. She was MIA during the Fullbringer arc, and I don't blame her.

Everyone involved in that arc lost face except Tsukishima…Tsukishima was my best friend.

Tsukishima is the one who recommended Bleach to me.
Honestly, Fullbringer arc doesn't even look that bad compared to this one.
-
At least the fullbring was short, this never ending mess is nearly 150 chapters
-
Kubo is actually a genius. He remember how people complained about Aizen and what the Arrancar arc became so he devoted everything since then to make the readers value what Bleach was back then. Such commitment.
-
So glad Riruka is back! Love the Fullbringers and their powers.

Now makes me think of Bleach at the beginning. It could've been like Guardians of the Galaxy, with just the original group going around and hunting hollows. The group could've been called "Guardians of Soul Society". Just have Komomaru be the animal of the group, and Mayuri would've concocted the Groot of the group.

That's Chad, lol.

If I was to make certain characters like Guardians of the Galaxy, it would go like this.
Ichigo: Star Lord
Chad: Drax the Destroyer
Koromaru: Rocket Raccoon
Yoroichi or Tatsuki: Gamora
Orohime: Groot (because can't think of anything else). -

If they use just the kids the Guardians of the Galaxy doesn't fit quiet as well. Missing Ishida, Rukia and Kon.

Koromaru is the Wolf Captain. Might've gotten the name wrong, and was thinking of the awesome dog from Persona 3.
We could make Kon Rocket instead. Rukia could maybe be Gamora instead. Ishida, well who cares about Ishida?
Really, the Manga would've just been better having the human world team doing stuff, with Tatsuki joining up at some point. It's really depressing that she didn't get any spot light, especially with how she was built up early on being really good at Karate. Double shame for Chad, since he was shown tanking steel bars before unlocking any power, and hit a hollow with a light pole with the help of Rukia. Back then, the potential was high for the series.
-
Tite spitting on Aizen? Can't believe my eyes.
Nel must die in a harcore way.
-

Correct. Koromaru is the super duper shiba inu with Cerberus as its persona.
Komamura (who I had to look up to remember) is the captain whose sole personality characteristic is being a wolf and being friends with Tosen.
-
He's a werewolf, get it right or I'm telling Kubo!!!
-
He's a werewolf, get it right or I'm telling Kubo!!!
He's a werewolf if he can shapeshift, but he only can shapeshift back to human… spirit...? whatever if he does some sort of arcane ritual that for some reason increases his power and makes him immune to explosions
On the other hand, confirmation of a beast realm may mean that there's an America realm and a Europe realm alongside Spanish Hollow realm and Nazi Shadow Realm seeing as Soul Society is completely devoid of any other nationalities
-
@Purple:

Don't say that, Komamura is the bro of bros in Bleach.
But yeah, I was really looking forward him in this arc since for the first time he would be out of Tousen's shadow. And while I admit that his backgroud is interesting as hell - probably the most interesting thing this invasion brought -, it was so poorly executed that it ruined everything!
Kubo just gave us a lot of new concepts like Komamura's clan, the beast realm, for the first time since we met the Shinigami he actually refered to their previous lives (all Shinigami are supposed to be people who died and went to SS, but he tends to ignore that fact), the heart ritual, Komamura's greatgrandfather, new Bankai and human appearance… Kubo just threw all those elements out there and rushed through them in one chapter without properly explaining anything! It was like "here, take a peek on all I wanted to show about Komamura, 'cause I don't have the time to show it anymore".It's amazing, he is prone to waste pages explaining useless things, walking in circles with that ridiculous gate the captains are building, bringing characters back one by one instead of simply bringing everyone back at once in one big epic scene, he wastes a lot of time in things that should just be quickly passed by, but he doesn't take to time to develop what really should be worked on. Everything about this arc's pace is so wrong.
-
As far as I'm concerned, Komamura had the best fight in the whole arc. Not because the fight itself was so good, but because he made the ultimate sacrifice that allowed him to be in his beast mode for 10 minutes before he turns into a dog, just so he can pawn some Quincy.
It's kinda sad that he had to go through all that while some others went on a vacation, got a free Reiatsu exchange in hot spa, got fed magical food, got Zanpakuto upgrade, got some op new clothes and a guy told them the real name of their Zan so they get even bigger power boost. No side effects.
-
Assuming they don't mean Komamura (the animal captain in caseI got it wrong too) dunno. Though if you need an animal wouldn't Yourichi fit the bill a as a car?
-
Uhh… so, when was the last time we saw Yoruichi as a cat?
-

Nothing can beat Mask, Razh.
I know it, we all know it, and deep down in your heart, you know it.
