If FI is destroyed it'll definitely be Luffy who does it. Probably a Giganto Stamp or something. If it's not Luffy who's supposed to destroy it, then Luffy will beat the crap out of whoever it is that's supposed to and prevent the prophecy.

Well we know one thing for sure. Shirley's prediction can't be taken at face value. In it she sees Luffy in an antagonistic light, destroying FI with what must be villainous motives. We know, whether or not FI really does get destroyed, it wouldn't happen that way. So her prediction is already on shaky ground.

Personally i imagine it was something like a vision of what would happen if Luffy failed in his ultimate goal this arc, whatever it might be, and the result was the destruction of FI. She would have mistaken Luffy as the culprit because of his proximity to the incident, or because he was responsible in a sense due to his failure to prevent it. Basically the worst case scenario. Now it's up to Luffy and the SHs to prevent that.

Nice chapter. I like it. Well I don't really care who will destroy the island. But I hope that in the end the blame will put an the strawhats at least for the rest of the world. Because that would be a great comeback after two years of absence for the strawhats.

After two years the strawhats coming back and destroying FMI which is under the protection of Big Mom. That sounds nice for me and makes Luffy more infamous.

Anyway I never really thought about what is hotter. Who cares actually. I allways thought more of if Ace was in logia mode or not.
Normally when people use the logia mode objects pass right through them. So if Ace had used his logia powers, wouldn't Akainus attack had gone right through Ace and reached Luffy?

What ever, in the end all that matters is that Ace is dead.

I'm guessing that Luffy destroys the island to encourage the fish/mermen to live in harmony with the humans on the surface or something. It reminds me of that Futurama episode where they arrived on a planet inhabited by robots that are afraid of fire-breathing humans.

We have yet to see nearly half of the crew, not to mention the potential for a new nakama in the wings, so the jury is still out on the whole thing.

ooo i like that. him going all out on the island to protect a nakama. hes already made the world government his enemy, the only big force he can make an enemy of is the yonkou. i think that would be an amazing way of showing luffy's dedication even further. not necessarily him going against big mam, but osmething he must do to the island to save the ppl he loves, which involves destroying the island and thus making big mummy his enemy.

p.s. i hope big mam has the DF to force ppl to have a eating competition with her and luffy shall win

I notice how the Straw Hats may have been divided: the idealists of the crew land in Mermaid Cove (a place of legends), the realists in the Fishman District (probably a contrast to the Cove), and Brook – who can be either -- was alone, but only shortly. I expected him to show up soon; figures that he'd be with Pappag.

On another note: The Sanji bit was even better than anticipated. After 2 whole years of being in hell, he meets heaven for a short moment, then meets hell again. I like that philosophy, Oda...

A new chapter new developments. Probably this chapter showed us who zoro's opponent might be for this arc. Luffy's encounter with megellan at ID has served him well for future encounters with poison. His immune system got stronger thanks to it. Luffy will probably will meet big mam at the end of this arc. Luffy destroying FI can't wait for it to happen if it is indeed gonna happen.

Concerning Luffy destroying the island, I believe he might destroy the candy factory, thus Big Mam takes her name of protection off the place and fish man island is attacked by various pirates causing the eventual fall of the island. In other words, he causes a domino effect.

nono i'm saying with the amount of crying you're doing, its obvious that you can offer better, and is planning to. how else would a guy sitting on his ass not contributing have the balls to complain? and since the only way to keep your dignity intact is to do a better job than mangastream, its only right for me to thank you now, because a guy like me whos its on my ass and not contribute to the distribution of OP is thankful to those that do, and not complain about every lil thing that ultimately does not actually matter or hurt anyone.

Its a theory people came up with the very chapter Lola first mentioned it, but its PURE FAN SPECULATION, there hasn't been a single line of dialogue to indicate they are one in the same.

I don't disagree with the theory, but there's nothing at all supporting it either, I don't know why its adhered to so strongly as if it were fact.

Just looking at the wikia (too lazy to flick through Tanokobon) it says :

Lola shows concern and fondness for her mother and assured the Straw Hats if they ran into trouble, her mother would lend them a hand.

Also cus she's a Yonkou, Lola casually mentioning she has a 'strong mother' seems like an average Shonen understating Chekhov. Plus let's not forget, they both make pretty ugly females, and she's 'protecting' Fishman Island where the Staws have just turned up at and are obviously gonna 'run into some form of trouble.'

I think it's most likely her; but I get what you're saying. It's not fact and people shouldn't claim it is.

If she were, Lola would be more likely to say something along of those lines: My mom is a Yonkou, or My mom is one of the four strongest pirates, rather than "My mom is a strong pirate." Big Mam is massively famous, universally known; and if Lola had intention to help the SH she would just say her name, for convenient future reference, and there's no reason for her to be ambiguous about it. (and if I remember correctly, it's the two brothers who mentioned it, and they're rather talkative, somewhat boastful, so it's even more unlikely that they would hide such a fact.)
Plus I'd rather not believe Moria had kept a Yonkou's daughter for decades and everything's fine for him.
In case she is, I think Oda did a rather awkward job about it.

Within my last 10 years I'm reading OP, I've read some bad both official and inofficial translations that caused some nasty misunderstandings and so I got a bit nit-picky and want to have it as much accurate as possible. But sure I have to confess, that I'm relying on those who clearly have much more experience and knowledge of Japanese language...

But what I've posted (Whitebeard and Shanks having Haoushoku) is a fact which even I was able to see once looking into the RAW, and I really don't see your point in attacking me. Unless you aren't involved with their project like being their raw provider, translator, typesetter or whatever, how about "sitting on your ass" and "have the balls" to simply ignore me?

Hm, I'm interpreting that part "Chûjô class no Kaihei-tachi" a bit different since the doctor doesn't speak of "rank" but of "class", nor does he say "Chûjô-tachi" what I would have expected… So it's much more open to me since Garp was the only Vice Admiral that showed Haki punches while others had either Rokushiki skills or DF abilities.

About that, while I don't argue that the man Hachi was referring to is quite possibly Hyouzou, I doubt about the "2nd greatest swordsman in FI" part. And also about Arlong's supposedly equal power to Jimbe.

I mean, really? If Hyouzu managed to block Luffy's Jet Pistol, I certainly doubt the 2nd best would lose to Zoro just like that (Zoro was handicapped badly during the fight, and Hachi still went down easily)

And we've seen what Jimbe was capable of, and Luffy could still beat Arlong even without Gears.

I think Hachi was simply lying about it, and Arlong was either also lying, or it was just a rumor that Arlong just didn't bother to deny. It makes more sense that way, for example:

If I were to travel to a foreign country, I could easily say I'm the 2nd best fighter in my country. And I bet most of the people I told it to would just buy it, cause chances are, u're not going to travel to my country just to find out. It works in my favor.

1. Luffy VS Enel was a case of elemental compatibility.
2. U were throwing the word "weak" loosely here. Weak compared to who? I daresay Arlong was weak compared to Jimbe or Post-TS Luffy (Gear Luffy even). But compared to Luffy before GL? I'd say Arlong was definitely NOT weak. And that just further proves my point. Luffy could fought him (the man who was supposedly have equal power to Jimbe) and win.
