The games… So many didn't know which one to play first!
Minish Cap --> Sacred Stones--> metroid. That was my order of starting save files. And I'm loving them so far. I forgot how addicting fire emblem games are! I really hope we get the 3DS one!
Haven't tried the other games yet, saving them for my lunch break at work...

Fire emblem > Yoshi's island > minish cap
I've done emtroid fusion and wario land so many times. Plus i tried f-zero and sucked badly -
I never actually played a Metroid game before, ever (!), so I decided to start with Fusion. It's good. Really good actually. It's pretty fun. I don't know how it holds up to the other games in the series, but for what it is, it is fun.

Have you tried the original Metroid from the NES Ambassador games yet? It's hard as balls. BALLS, I tell you.

Well you should play Metroid Prime and it's sequals for the Gamecube or Wii.

I did try it yes, but I didn't make it very far. Really dang hard.

Yeah, I've seen a friend play the first Prime game, and it looked awesome.
-
Metriod Fusion is actually my favourite Metroid game, and the reason why I like Other M so much was because it was pretty similar in design.
-
The first Metroid game I played was Metroid Zero Mission, and that game is just as good as Fusion, I'd say. It really made me think, too, such as having to find out about dashing while in the morph ball, and that other dash technique called "Shine sparking", I think.
I'll probably be playing Fusion and Minish Cap all day. I loved Minish Cap to death when I had it on GBA!
-
did the games come out yet or is the US still waiting for them?
-
So had the time to play some games:
F-Zero … I suck at it, but it gives me the old vibe from the SNES one I played a lot as a kid so nostalgia goggles I guess.
Mario Kart ... nothing to complain about that. Good Mario Kart as always.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong ... much more entertaining than I thought! Love it.The rest maybe later or on sunday depending on how much time I have to spent (I save the jewels aka Zelda and Metroid for later though).
-

They're out already. It's awesome that you can download all 10 at the same time instead of waiting for each of them to download individually.
-
yay for GBA amassador games :D

thanks.
im glad i can finally finish Metroid, Wario Land( this is the one with the Pyramid?) and Zelda.. i already own Warioware and trying out F-Zero now :)

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror is so much fun. First game they have given us that I am pleased with. Do we get Nintendo points for these games? I heard we were suppose to, but I didn't get any for the first 10 nes games.

You go to your club nintendo account and fill out a survey regarding the games. You should get coins then. You should still be able to do the surveys for the NES games as well.

I can't believe this shit…
http://andriasang.com/comze7/pokemon_x_nobunaga/
http://serebii.net/index2.shtml
I was expecting Pokemon Grey, I hope the game revealed by Corocoro is Pokemon Gray but right now I doubt it.
-
Why are people expecting Gray so soon? BW came out a year ago.
-
Im honestly hoping for a pokemon snap (it would be PERFECT on the 3DS)
-
@The:

Little more then a year now, the games usually come out in this timing, by the second, second movie anime wise is coming, the second movie has been announced to have Kyurem, the usually tie it with that for promotion.
Giratina and Rayquaaza.
Its about time, not crying about it but it is in the normal schedule if it came out this year(or not checking the dates its actually 2 years).
Anyway, like I said I don't mind it, I just though it would be that and even though, I love Sengoku era games I was like "what the hell?" lol but I'm actually interested in the game.
I'm sure it will sell nice in Japan but this Nobunaga ambition games haven't come out of there, still the pokemon name sells so if they are smart they should release them over here in Europe, Australia and in the US.
Anyway I bet Nobunaga pokemon will be either Darkrai or Giratina.
Edit: haha ignore that, just saw Serebii updating Nobunaga pokemon is Zekrom.

So basically it's a Pokemon SRPG set in feudal Japan.
…if this somehow comes out in English, I think I'll have to get it, if only for the experience.
-
Me too. It looks quite interesting, and could very well be a refreshing new take.
What I'm wondering is how some random dude from feudal "Japan" has a Mewtwo, a Pokemon which was supposed to be the result of advanced modern genetic engineering.
-
Should one know the Nobunaga Ambition series? first time hearing/reading about this …
-
Got he GBA games. One of my favorite fucking things ever, Warioware, is just as good as I remember. Amazing Mirror I also know to be, well, amazing. The rest are all new to me.
So far, Mario vs Donkey Kong is surprisingly good and NOT a lemmings copycat, F-Zero kicked me in the balls for thinking I was good at anything, and Wario Land 4 is good fun. I'll save Fire Emblem, Zelda, and Metroid for until I don't have a major console game to play.
-
Mario VS Donkey Kong became Lemmings after the first as far as I know. The first was supposed to be more like the original Donkey Kong. I wish it would've stayed that way.

that's what I mean. I knew the sequels, and have no desire to play them, but the first is pretty neat. Mario has a shit-ton of moves, too. it's just fun to go run around, using the stages as a playground. but since I want to do that and not the puzzles the way it wants me to do, I get low scores a lot, lol…
-
So wait, the Ambassador games came to the US after all?! WHAT A TIME FOR MY BROTHER TO LOSE MY 3DS!!
-
Yeah, it came state side early on the 16th. And I didn't get the "ambassador notification" until the day after I downloaded them xD
And boy, I just love the thought of all of those games on my 3DS. Having Fire Emblem, Metroid Fusion, and Minish Cap all on one portable system seems unbelievable already.
And Kirby has been alright so far. The game seems too easy, I think most of his games are like that…
-
Great, my brother LEFT MY 3DS AT HIS WORK, IT'S GONE!
And NOW the god damn ambassador games come out. Fuck…
-
So I downloaded Super Mario Kart, as soon as I booted it up my HD TV spazzed out and went blank saying that it couldn't process it.
The fuck? -

The fuck? That's because Super Mario Kart is too awesome for HD TVs. But yeah that sounds like it sucks :/

Your Wii is fked up or your TV is fked up.

Question: I've been told by a few people that the 3DS is doing very badly and that they are expecting a new system to come out pretty soon.
Do you think that's true?
My mom is considering buying me one for christmas, but if there's another system going to be out "soon" (like in the next 6-12 months) I'd rather wait since I can't see the 3D effects with my horrible eyes anyway. -
…that's not gonna be happening any time soon. Far from abandoning it, Nintendo's been trying hard to push it forward now that there are finally games coming out for it.
-
What do you mean by new system? Like a actual new system or an updated model (Like DS Lite and DSi)?
-
@Nia:

-
3ds sold more than the DS in its first year, and that was before Christmas… How is that failing badly?
-
Not to mention its got a much better first year line up. It got a ton of great games out right now. Sure it took till about this holiday season for most of them to come out, but there are plenty of great games for it now. Not to mention a ton of great games coming out first quarter next year pretty sure.
-
It's definately worth buying a 3DS, and now is a better time than any. There's plenty of great games already out, and plenty of promising games on their way.
-
Hell Nintendo alone makes it worth buying. Some great remakes: Ocarina of Time and Star Fox 64. Then you have the new games of Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7. Kid Icarus is coming out in like first quarter right?
That is a great line up for just one company. Then throw in the other companies games like Resident Evil Revelations, Tales of Abyss, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Metal Gear Solid, Professor Layton. Think all those are like first quarter games.
Then some more nintendo games coming out too like Luigi's mansion 2, paper mario, animal crossing, and obviously at some point a new pokemon and zelda.
-
That's kind of the reason i bought mine. Mostly Zelda en probably Pokémon.
But thus far, i'm using my original ds way more than my 3ds.
The only game i currently enjoy is LoZ OoT. For me, there aren't just that many interesting games out yet. -
I haven't used mine insanely much either. Mainly ocarina of time as well. Have not yet got around to getting mario 3d land or mario kart yet. I'm sure i'll get them sooner or later, but as of now been playing skyward sword, and skyrim. and hell still playing pokemon white as well. and considering that it lasts like 5 times longer on my ds lite than 3ds, i use that to play pokemon white. But i'm excited for kid icarus (probaby get that on release day) and can't wait till a fire emblem game and tales of abyss. Never got around to playing tales of abyss. Then obviously the next pokemon game will be awesome. they always are.
The bottom line, I don't think a generation has ever ended where everyone isn't praising nintendo's handheld as being the best thing since sliced bread. So to not get their handheld is just dumb. I always find new generations funny. EVERYTIME a new console comes out and I mean everytime, everyone is always going on about how shitty the games are and it has no games and comparing it to a console last gen. It's like no shit 3ds has less awesome games than ds does, the ds has been out for like 8 years and has 100,000 games, while the 3ds is only out for 8 months and has 100 games. Obviously its not going to have as great a line up as the ds, or the psp, which also has been out for a long ass time.
Every generation people are bitching about how horrible its 1st year is, yet if you look at prior generation 1st years, they were much worse. The ps2, had a HORRIBLE first year line up. Look at this
! Armored Core 2 (Agetec, Action)
DOA2: Hardcore (Tecmo, Fighting)
Dynasty Warriors 2 (Koei, Action)
ESPN International Track and Field (Konami, Sports)
ESPN X-Games Snowboarding (Konami, Sports)
Eternal Ring (Agetec, RPG)
Evergrace (Agetec, RPG)
FantaVision (SCEI, Puzzle)
Gun Griffon Blaze (Working Designs, Action)
Kessen (EA, Adventure)
Madden NFL 2001 (EA, Sports)
Midnight Club (Rockstar, Racing)
Moto GP (Namco, Racing)
NHL 2001 (EA, Sports)
Orphen (Activision, RPG)
Q-Ball Billiards Master (Take-Two Interactive, Simulation)
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2 (Midway, Sports)
Ridge Racer V (Namco, Racing)
Silent Scope (Konami, Shooter)
Smuggler's Run (Rockstar, Racing-Adventure)
SSX (EA, Sports)
Street Fighter EX3 (Capcom, Fighting)
Summoner (THQ, RPG)
Swing Away (Paradise Golf in Japan) (EA, Sports)
Tekken Tag Tournament (Namco, fighting)
TimeSplitters (Eidos, First-Person Shooter)
Unreal Tournament (Infogrames, First-Person Shooter)
Wild Wild Racing (Interplay, Racing)
X-Squad (EA, Action)That is not a good line up at all, yet this is praised as best system EVER.
-
Well, I'd say the ps2 is far from the best system ever. I'd put the nes/snes/psx/saturn above it. But the point of release year scarcity is correct. The 3DS has had one of the best launch years I can remember.
For the 3DS I have:
Ghost Recon
Ocarina of Time
Star Fox 64 3D
Mario Land 3D
Tales of the Abyss
Cave Story 3D
Steel Diver
Pilotwings
Mario Kart 7If I was in NA I'd lose out on Abyss for a while but gain Devil Survivor Overclocked.
Also got the brilliant Pullblox via 3DS ware, and the 22 free games nintendo have doled out via VC and 3D classics(need to get my kid icarus freebie too come to think of it).
Nine months in I'm happy with my purchase. The only points I have against it are screen scratching issue & the battery life. -
That is not a good line up at all, yet this is praised as best system EVER.
The DS had the same problem. And it's my favorite hand-held of all time.
And like Darkstorm, for me, the ps2 still is the best console ever made, closely followed by the SNES.I'm mostly a RPG and Adventure gamer, so that's why i'm not enjoying the 3ds that much ..yet.
-

Kirby games do tend towards the easy side. Except for The Arenas from SSU, it doesn't take a whole lot of skill to complete one.
Amazing Mirror, though, I think is the hardest. or at least, takes the most work. Getting 100% on that game? I hope you like spending 10 minutes getting to a room, 2 seconds failing to get to the chest in time, and then 5 more minutes working your way back around to that room again.
and on the topic of "a new 3ds", there's nothing coming right soon, certainly not a completely new, non-3D system. While I do think there will be a remodel, similar to the DSi, I don't think it will come until NEXT christmas, at the very earliest. Nintendo wants people to buy the 3DS right now, and they will want to focus on the WiiU next year.
-
Thanks for setting me straight, guys!
(I got that from a few people who work in retail and a few forums/general impression)
I meant "new system" as in a 3DS lite or something, but I can see why that won't happen for a while now.Alright, that's one 3DS for me then. Thanks for the help!
-
Well I guess a remodel with a second slide pad is possible in the future but a redesign like DS -> DS Lite is not that possible … I mean the 3DS is very slim yet. Maybe a 3DS XL with a bigger screen.
-
The 3DS had a slow start before Nintendo started releasing good games, now it's outselling the original DS at the same time in that game's lifespan.
And I'd be enjoying mine now too if my brother hadn't left it at his work.
-
I think if there is one it'll include the circle-pad yeah.
I personally ordered the circle pad with the new Resi game. Retail for £7 itself or £30 with the game too. (considering the game will be £35 upon release most places)
Also. Gamespot awarded Xenoblade Wii GOTY. Obviously Zelda wouldn't get it due to their past review but nice to see Xeno getting it.
-

What's the purpose of a second circle pad at the right of the 3DS? I don't get it.
