No Nintendo games for Ipods. Imagine having to jump Mario without buttons. Would be weird.

Stupid question: If I already got a notification that I am a Nintendo Ambassador, do I need to sign into the e-shop again to be eligible for the Metroid Fusion game? The press release I read made it sound like a separate thing from the original 20 games the Ambassadors were promised.
-
Wait. You got notifications? Errrr. This is kinda worrying. I got nothing 0.o

Me neither, but according to this link only people in the US gets notifications, but we in other countries are still ambassadors even though we won't get a notification.

I see. Kinda confusing XD I hope this isn't an excuse for them to swindle us out of the downloads. Although I'm sure there'll be some online receipt from when I downloaded Link's Awakening and Mario Picross recently.
-
Wait. You got notifications? Errrr. This is kinda worrying. I got nothing 0.o
Yeah. After I read the statement in the e-shop, I saw that there was a notification under the spot pass/street pass message section that pretty much said the exact same thing as the Nintendo press release.

Oh that. I got that too. It didn't say that I was 100% an ambass. Just to go online by the 12th
-
Yeah. in the uk we got a little message on the eshop. Now i want to know about my other 10 free games. I'm hoping they say today and i hope theres one i never owned
-
Anyone know how Avenging Spirit is? Looked like quite an interesting game. But I've been stung by Game Boy platformers before..
-
I'm in America and I don't know how to see if I'm an embassador or not…
I've been in the eShop a lot tho, looking at the VC Titles and getting Netflix... How do I check? -
This post is deleted!
-
I just replayed this game for a third time. I didn't finish it, but I was more "getting to know it better" as I played and beaten the orignal PC game countless times.
I want to see a release of this game outside Wiiware. It needs to happen. The developers could not have possibly worked so hard on such a fantastic remake and leave it to die within unknown territory… especially since it's 3rd party. There's just lots to say about this one.

Wait wait wait, you had to do something on August 11th specifically?! I thought I just had to be online before Aug. 12th.
I'm going to be insanely heartbroken if I missed out on this Ambassador thing because I had one on day one.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
It's likely that Nintendo will communicate Ambassador status to 3DS owners via SpotPass, but if you want a simple answer, follow these steps:
1. Have you bought a 3DS yet?
2. Have you visited the eShop yet? This is what I had been going off of. I had done both and I did it on like Aug. 10th so I figured i was in the clear, but… no?
...?
-
No you will be in the clear. It's b4 august 11th unless you live in australia
-
I'd like a little message like "You're now a ambassador" or something like this though.
-
I'd like it to say that I had diplomatic immunity
In a south african accent.
-
I'm paranoid because I've already gotten dicked twice now (admittedly by the post office and not entirely Nintendo's fault) so I'd like to actually receive something from Nintendo for free for once
There is an empty hole in my heart where Game & Watch Collection 1 and the Ocarina of Time soundtrack were supposed to fill and they never arrived.
I… I just want free things Nintendo

Headshot It's just been revoked!

I just got my 3DS yesterday for $37. For a second there I thought I had missed the deadline.
-
i saw some ambassador message in teh eshop so i assume i was fine. nintendo will be getting a call if i dont' get these games
-

Did you go on the e-shop tho?
-
Yep, and it was the first message on there.
-
If this ends up being true, then…
Must… restrain excitement... until 100% confirmed...
-
Pokemon is all I need to read lol
-
Pokemon without wireless function's it pretty much pointless. You can never collect them all that way. Though that doesn't stop me from wanting it..
-
@LUFFY#1:
Pokemon without wireless function's it pretty much pointless. You can never collect them all that way.
According to this list, the GBA WarioWare game is getting an upgrade of some sort for the 3DS' hardware, so… y'never know, I guess. Emerald was, along with FireRed and LeafGreen, one of the few late GBA games to use that short-lived wireless adapter. Perhaps they'll make a minor tweak or something to upgrade that functionality in order to enable trading and battling.
Though, unless you can trade with games other than other people's 3DS-VC Emerald versions, there wouldn't be much point, anyway. Since you wouldn't be able to obtain anything that's not catchable in Emerald (like Meditite/Medicham, one of my all-time favorites). If somehow they can even link up with GBAs using the aforementioned wireless adapter, then we'd at least be able to (eventually) trade with FireRed or LeafGreen, which would open up a few opportunities and certainly be better than nothing.
One way or another, let's hope they figure something out, instead of just ignoring it and having the game end up lacking ANY sort of trade/battle capability.
But even more so than Emerald, I'm excited about possibly getting Zelda: Minish Cap. I owned it for a while a few years ago, but never finished it and have been meaning to pick it back up again. If this rumored list ends up true, then I won't have to bother.
-
According to this link http://www.sectorn.net/nintendo-extiende-el-plazo-de-registro-de-3ds-ambassador-para-latino-america/ the ambassador program was extended in Latin America
-
German Nintendo website says that it is extended as well … I feel trolled.
-
Hmmmm I find that list kinda hard to believe. Wouldn't releasing Emerald for free possibly ruin them remaking Ruby and Sapphire in a few years? (since we know it'll happen) Not to mention that these are free games. I'd be very surprised if they're anything more than just direct ports. I don't see Nintendo spending time changing them if they're getting no money back for them.
But it would be nice for Europe folks since I don't believe Mario Ball and Wario Ware twisted even made it over here.
-
Aren't those games for the ambassadors just ports but when Nintendo release them officially to the public they get updates? I thought I read something like that.
That could fix the trading problem. -
I thought the GBA games were exclusive only to ambassadors and it was only the NES games coming out? Yup. It says in the notification on the 3DS.
'By the end of 2011, Nintendo will provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games. These include games like Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, Wario Ware, Inc: Minigame Mania and Mario vs Donkey Kong. These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on Nintendo 3DS in the future.'
-
Essentially, the NES games do currently have a planned release date. The GBA games are said to not currently have a "Planned" release date. Right now, they don't plan to release them. Wait. Because Yoshi's Island? Mario Kart Super Circuit?
Nintendo would be STUPID not to give other people the ability to buy those games. Eventually.
-
They would be stupid. I'm just pointing out that they are saying no plans at the moment to release them. Which kinda puts doubt on them doing more than direct ports.
I'm still hoping for Wario Land 4. Or at least a release of Wario Land 1 and 2 on the Game Boy VC.
-
I'd rather have Wario Land 3.
-
I'm sure we'll get all 4 eventually. Damn. They are sure taking their sweet time in releasing stuff on the e-shop tho.
-
Wario Land 1 is still the best. Would love to be able to play that on my 3ds.
-
Truth. The game was on the easy side, but the powerups felt alot better than that game that others.
-
I have fond memories of playing Wario Land 2 to 100% completion. I had plenty of time to do it too since when I got it I was in the hospital for a broken arm.
…good times?
-
I feel kind of bad because I've only played three Wario Land games.
The first one (which is awesome as hell, even if you use the value-changing cheat)
The Virtual Boy one (which was actually a really good game on an awful piece of hardware)
and Wario Land: Shake It! (which is a beautiful game, but way too fucking short)
-
I really want to get the original. and the virtual boy one actually. I wonder if nintendo will find away to release virtual boy games on the 3DS that won't cause people to be in pain. Apart from that i have all the other wario lands
-
Wario Land 3 was just awesome all around. I beat it, but it's a shame I never completed it 100%.
-
So I just bought and beat Kirby's Dream Land for the 3DS.
Man that was shorter than I remember it. Maybe I'm just better at playing these games now?
-
It's always been a very short game. Which is it's main problem.
-
More Wii Budget Titles on the way. I almost bought Super Paper Mario the other day so I'm glad I didn't bother.
-
So it looks like the 3DS is going up due to the much needed price cut. In less than a week that just pasted (august 8th to the 14th), Nintendo were able to sell 207k units in Japan for the recent price cut. Now we just have to wait to see what it looks like in the other regions to see if it's really doing well. Signs look good though.
Star fox 64 3D also went up by 28% in preorders over at amazon also in light of the 3ds price cut.
-
when did the Update appear on 3DS? I was gone a couple days and saw my eShop news had a update.
seems now there a site to wait for.. register your serial number to see if you are in. it supposed to be sometime this week -
I thought the site was just for Australians?
Looks like Nintendo are really making us jump through hoops for these games.
Over here I don't seem to have seen much difference in the price. Game is offering 3DS + Ocarina for £150 (but they're saying it's £50 off the RRP) so.
Speaking of which. I went to pre-order Xenoblade yesterday. Game are charging £60 for the version with the Controller. I think the guy was pretty pissed when I told him I wasn't paying that price for it. Especially when the game itself is only £30 in most stores.

Hey Resident Evil: Revelations fans. You guys got some info coming your way.

Also the release that many probably heard about but whatever. They plan on releasing it early 2012 according to a fact sheet about it. http://nintendoeverything.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/revelations_fact_sheet.jpg
Some other news.An edit of what I said earlier. The 3DS actually sold 214,821 units in all.
Level-5 is going to hold an event in Japan, in the month of October. And they're going to show off over 10 games. So maybe some of the interesting games we saw from them will be shown with some new ones
Sonic Generation 3DS gets some fantastic looking screenshots. Check 'em: http://nintendo3dsblog.com/new-screenshots-from-sonic-generations
