Someone else came in with spoilers?

@Sea:
JERK DISEASE IS acerbic. But he is not fond of being acerbic with newbies.
I think the Poneglyphs might be hardened after carving letters on them.
Yes, I don't mean to skirt the issue. I think even JD would agree he is acerbic at times. I hesitate to reply, and hope this gets seen by the parties involved in this conversation despite the delay, because I just don't like to get into talking about other members behavior as if they aren't going to read the comments some day–it seems wrong. (I think I've made it clear from past posts that if I have a problem with someone I will post directly to them, and not pussy-foot around) My original post to which this whole thing referred was aimed at a different member who was there at the time, and he even responded to my oblique comments, probably with more patience than a busy body like me deserved, bless him. LOL. Anyway, FTR I am dropping this topic officially after this post.
But the poneglyph where Roger carved his message was already hard, since it has a whole message carved into on the front already, and had been in existance for hundreds of years (presumedly since the void century, although we can't know just yet, of course) so that doesn't really explain that incidence of writing existing on a supposedly indestructible poneglyph

I guess it wasn`t Roger personal who carved that in.
Maybe a crewmate of him was able to do so via a DF and Roger dictated his words to him^^ -

Roger read the script because he could "hear the voice of all things"–in other words, Haki! So--as of now, this is still a genuine One Piece mystery, lol. (I love this series.)

True, true…
But still i think with "hearing the voice of everything" Rayleigh was talking about his DF or else he could have just said that via his superstrong Haki Roger was able to understand it.
http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece/chapter-507/page006.html
(Also Rayleigh knew Prof.Clover, but in that scene it is more likely that he just knows him becuase he`s famous around the world for his studies instead of having him maybe a few years on board which could explain a bit) -

I tend to think it's referring to Haki because the language is so similar to other places in the manga–like when Zoro fought Mr 1, for example--where he hears the breath of the rocks, here: http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece/chapter-195/page017.html So I tend to think it's not a d/f power, but you are right, it isn't a decided thing right now, so I'll concede that point–it could still be either (but I think it's gonna be proven to be haki, lol)

Rayleigh mentions that Haki lies within every creature
http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece/chapter-597/page011.html
, so i would assume that a rock or land can`t have Haki in it which he noticed. But i have to admit that explaining later what Zoro was expierencing there (like Mihawk talks with him about such stuff and he replying " Yeah feeled it during the fight with Mr.1") was the Colour of Observation would be more fitting^^

Yes Rayleigh said the power exists in all living things, but do we know whether the observational power only works on living things? It seems like it has to work on non-living things as well, or how would you avoid being hit by a flying object like a bullet, or a rock, etc., and I believe we've seen people doing just that, during the war maybe?

You mean you could maybe use it like an echo-sonar (like bats).
Yeah i guess that would work perfectly and would make that kind of Haki even more useful
But than we kind of confirm in which kind of Haki Zoro will be best in, when he can use such a "higher" state of that Haki^^
But that actually is the Haki i hope he will specialize in, so fitting. -

It's perfect for him (and I can even see Sanji totally teasing the pants off him for it, too. Calling it "crazy mystic mumbo jumbo" or something like that.)
