The concept art and the Harley render are the only things new there. The screenshots were in the issue of GameInformer that actually announced the game to the masses.
THE GODDAMN BATMAN: Arkham City

I really like that concept art.
-
-
-
-
Looks like fanart to me. Besides, we've already seen this character plenty in her new look, posting concept art of her to bump the thread is silly. Now, if it was something big, like concept art of the Riddler, then that'd be something.
-
I'll be damned if I let this sink into the depths of the forum. Get off my back, I'll do what I want! It's my thread!
-
So, you bump threads that don't need bumped for no other reason than the fact they're yours?
-
I do that sometimes. It's sad, I know.. Haven't done it in a while, though.
And be honest, Buuhan, you've done that quite a few times yourself. No shame in admitting it.
-
All my bumps are necessary, when were you ever under the assumption they weren't?
-
I don't know man, I'm just dicking around.
-
Be careful where you do that, it can get you in trouble.
-
Well, now I know .

I just bought the first one recently so I don't know when I'll get around to this one once it's released.
-
Beat me to it.
Definitely get to it, Sakon. Your mouth will be drooling for the sequel the moment you finish.
-
It truly is a great game, it was the first PS3 game I got the Platinum trophy in and I still wanted more…
This game can't come soon enough, I tell ya!

•Batman will have special moves that can hit up to three enemies at once
•He'll also have new air attacks - one of them involves Bats hanging by a cord and jumping over the enemies and disarming them.
•You can return to the starting point of the jump or carry on with the fight. There is also a diving swivel attack which hits two enemies at once.
•Batman now has special combat moves (apparently called "Terminators"). One of them is called "Fallen" and is a combination of quick punches with a vertical kick that launches the enemy into the air giving The Dark Knight a second aerial shot.
•There are also other attacks where Batman combines combos and equipment to take out foes.
•Batman will be able to climb all objects including buildings and wires (he'll be able to balance on them, something similar to what was seen in the Assassin's Creed II).
•You will also be able to slide underneath objects, cling to poles and rods, and perform gymnastic manoeuvres. You can slide down ramps to grab an enemy as well.
•Batman now has a feature where he can dodge projectiles shot from firearms. It can also be used for normal attacks.
•Batman will be able to grab enemies mid-flight.
•When Batman is soaring, if you go toward a window he performs a motion diving with his feet to smash the window and execute a surprise attack.
•Batman can now run and use gadgets at the same time. You can also run, jump and hit at the same time. Batarangs can be thrown even when Batman jumps into the air.
•A new gadget upgrades Batman's "leap" (Translation is confusing but it seems to suggest some sort of cape upgrade that expands into wings, can also "attack enemies")

hoooooly shit .
-
Batman's Creed. Awesome.
-
That's a LOT of processing power. Think they can keep it running as smooth as the first? That was one of the big things, the screen wasn't tearing apart at the seems.
-
Runs fine on my computer at maximum settings .

Batman Arkham City runs fine on your computer? Would you please share with the rest of the world? We're eager to play.
Seriously though my mistake. I wrote 'was' but meant to write 'wasn't'.
-
Edit: Wait a second…
-
Hopefully the parkour is as smooth and seamless as the combat. I want Assassin's Creed parkour will you basically move along walls and roofs like you're walking on the ground. I don't want parkour in like inFAMOUS where you gotta mash jump rapidly.
-
Parkour in Assassin's Creed is amazing.
Can't wait for Brotherhood. Probably a rent, though, seeing as how it'll probably be short and the MP isn't enough to warrant a buy from me.
-
Apparently GameStop is listing its release date as October 13, 2011. GameStop is usually accurate with their release date leaks, but still a rumor.
I say that's about right tho.
-
The game is gonna be on Spike's Video Game Awards, most likely we're gonna get gameplay and more reveals. The VGAs are on the night of December 11th.

Appropriately, considering they announced there last year.

I can't tell if that's live action or CG. If it's entirely the later… holy crap.

Yeah, that looks amazing.
Still, i want more! Teasers aren't enough to satisfy my desires.
-
Yeah, Hamill was confirmed for Arkham 2 a while ago. Its his final outing as the Joker before he retires from the role.
-
He said the same thing about the first game, tho. I'm not calling him a liar or anything, but I'm saying I think he can be convinced to keep going.
Also, I suspect we'll get our gameplay this Saturday during the VGAs.
-
Hamill said that Arkam was going to be his last because it was such a high note and would be impossible to top.
And then they showed him the script to the sequal at which point he said okay.
….yeah, that doesn't raise expectations at all.
-
That's exactly my point, tho. He can be convinced to continue on as long as he thinks its worth it. If the third Batman game is great and they want him back, I'm sure he'll come back. Same goes for any new animated material.
-
I never knew Paul Dini, Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil were together. Nostalgia.
I have watched Batman Beyond RToJ and The Dark Knight. I have to say ROTJ was way better. Mark Hamil was fantastic. The flashback sequence was the best part of the movie. I thought Terry and old Bruce had an amazing chemistry. It was a batman and a Joker movie. The dark knight was a joker movie.
-
Well yeah. The Dark Knight wasn't a Batman movie.
What Nolan seems to be doing is deconstructing Batman to the point of making all the villains the "super" part of the superhero myth, and turning Batman into an ordinary, brooding schlepp with self-conflicting ideals. How are we ever going to either cheer for this guy, or want to follow his story arc?
This is the problem with taking comic book stories and characters, and bringing them as close to the "real" world as possible. Look at how Iron Man managed to balance real-world concerns with the exaggerated world of comics, and managed to make the hero someone we liked and cared about. Nolan's Batman is one hair away from looking ridiculous in his costume because he's not larger than life. He's just a guy in a goofy costume, who may as well just dress in SWAT gear.
The Dark Knight was more a police action film than a superhero comic book movie. You could have taken Bruce out entirely and replaced him with a generic cop character, and the movie would be largely unchanged beyond the superficial iconography.
It was about the random evil guy in clown makeup who happened to be called the Joker, not about Dirty Harry/Jackie Chan/Harrison Ford/Batman. It was a good police action movie. A good Joker movie. (Aside from his near psychic prediction skills when it came to setting up traps or crashing buses through walls or having things time out exactly right.)
But it was a terrible Batman movie.
(Batman Begins however, WAS about Batman, and WAS a good Batman movie.)
For my money, Mask of the Phantasm is still the best Batman movie.

Robby, I love you.

Trailer from VGA. Nice graphics as usual =)
Spoiler tagged because I set it to autoplay on the important stuff:
! 0Z972jvFpJE&autoplay=1&start=26
-
It was a nice trailer and all… but absolutely no gameplay. Naughty Dog knows how to make a trailer, not only was most of theirs probably in game, but they even put in some gameplay snips at the end. While very short, they still gave you the gameplay tasting you were craving.
Rocksteady should really have given us some gameplay in this trailer.
-
But the thing you seem to be overlooking… is that the ENTIRE TRAILER WAS GAMEPLAY  !
-
They announced this game a year ago at VGA 2009.
They've released dozens of screenshots of the ingame.
There's a demo of the FIRST 10 MINUTES OF THE GAME that press got to watch months ago.
There is no reason, no excuse, that there wasn't gameplay in that trailer. They had to go the fancy route of some elaborate pre-rendered trailer like so many of the games nowadays…
-
There is no reason, no excuse, that there wasn't gameplay in that trailer. …
Other than the fact they could easily show gameplay footage within the next few months prior to the game's launch and the fact that the VGA's aren't really known for having Game Trailers that showcase gameplay from the games being teased on the show.
Also being realistic here if you already played Asylum and you've been reading previews of "City" you essentially already know what the gameplay looks like.
-
Is it just me or does Hugo Strange sound alot like Christopher Lee…
But it can't be him... right?!

Ya I still don't know who's voice it is, but it sounds a LOT like Christopher Lee indeed.
-
Gonna bring this thread into the new year with a new trailer
-
Seems somewhat interesting this team-up idea, depends on how they are going to make it really interesting.
What majorly annoyed me though were the same enemy designs as in Arkham Asylum wich already kinda had a lack of designs.
-
Pretty funny vid.
I think they're just using old models to keep us from seeing anything spoilerish (Isn't the Joker supposed to look sickly?). That or the newer models aren't ready for the kind of action needed for this movie.
-
Heh. Co-op looks like it'll be pretty fun. As for the character models, I doubt this is the final product, so I wouldn't be too worried.
-
Everyone is saying the trailer is fake and fanmade, hope it isn't.
Not fake, youtube link got removed.
