Well another good filler episode :D I thought it ended it typical avatar style with the real Painted Lady showing up and also the split-personality guy was awesome.
Just wanna see some of the assassin and also Aang learning fire bending.

It's a filler, FOR NOW.
Give it a few weeks for there to be something significant about this episode.

Yeah, the minute Katara ended up being the painted lady, I knew the real one would pop in at the end, and lo and behold…

Yes, I think that sth is up with the painted lady. Someone said that she could possibly be the wife of that watertribe-avatar, that was sent to the spirit world…
From the new season I really liked this episode the most, yeah, there wasn´t too much action and azula and zuko were missing... but it had really cute interaction and neat ideas!
The last water tribe avatar's wife was attacked by Koh, is the lady that he shows in the siege of the nort, confirmed in scape from spirit world.
Oh yeah! I remember koh saying sth like " you lost something precious in your last life" and than switches his face to that of a woman. Is it her?
sokka's master clip
Good episode. I like that Sokka isn't some great swordsman or anything and uses his brain while fighting. I hope he keeps fighting like that Also IROH IS PUMPED I wonder how long he's been locked up? And what's he planning to do with this new physic? And so this assassin is psychic? That eye seems to allow fire bending or at least explosions. And Azula + Volleyball = WIN
Sokka continues to be the Usopp of the Avatar group. I loved that training montage. And Iroh pretending to be delirious and trading in his gut for a six-pack? Hell yes!
Next week is the fanservice episode. XD
Wow, avatar is getting really interesting. Iroh really surprised me. Buff Iroh? Cool. I like the fact that Sokka is getting better at fighting. Things could get really good.
Great episode,I like Sokka trying different weapons and Aang in a armor suit XD,I can't wait for Bikinis and laser eyes next episode,Did anyone see Toph making the Nick Logo?

(rewatches scene) …huh, so it is the Nick logo. Cute tie-in to Avatar's home channel. It's funny I didn't notice it; the Nick logo is only in the corner of the screen all the time.
The assassin isn't firing the beam out of his eyes, it's coming out of what appears to be a tattoo on his forehead; he's probably using chakra, which would mean that he's in tune with the world in the same fashion as Huu and Guru Pathik. At any rate, Sokka asks how they can fight somebody who can blow up things with his mind.
So that sword teacher is a member of the white lotus society. Maybe we'll see him again when Iroh (the destroyer) turns to the society for help after breaking out of prison.
The preview of the next episode was hilarious :)
he's probably using chakra
They only do that in naruto. A chakra isn't the energy itself like chi. It's an energy center and gate.

I didn't mean chakra as in chi, I meant that he might be using the Thought Chakra (which is located on the head and allows you to access Cosmic Energy or something along those lines) to generate his laser beams.
I liked this episode. The sword instructor was cool.
What the
Toph likes Sokka too
HOW MANY GIRLS SOKKA!?!?
Sokka is a pimp.
I love Katara's epic fail jokes
I'm really looking forward to seeing Iroh in action. Since season 01 he's been effortlessly pwning almost all of his opponents and now (i guess/hope) he's even pissed off for once :)

I take it that you've either not seen The Serpent's Pass or forgot that particular episode.
HOW MANY GIRLS SOKKA!?!?
That's at least four isn't it?
Of course, one of them is dead, maybe two.

I'm looking forward to his eventual breakout if for no other reason than seeing what he does to that jackass of a guard.

Too bad the show has a tv-rating of TV-Y7-FV
edit: may not be suitable for young children under 7-contains fantasy violence xD
I liked this weeks Episode. It was good to see some more Sokka-development.
Katara's face when Aang commented on her hair was great. As was Aang in his armoured suit.
Iroh bulking up, I was thinking the same thing Ubiq.
I take it that you've either not seen The Serpent's Pass or forgot that particular episode
Well I remember her kissing, uh… Suki, but I thought that was just a one time thing.
About the guard, well, I think the only reason he seemed so mean/pissed is because he had immense respect for Iroh before. Probably Iroh was his childhood idol or something.
i can't wait for Iroh to break out and see what he's gonna do next. Also can't wait for us to meet some more airbenders!

Nah, there have been subtle references off and on since then (I'm pretty sure that Toph and Katara's sequence in Tales of Ba Sing Se did, though it's been a while since I saw that episode); nothing quite as overt as that episode though.

Possibly, though he doesn't seem to feel any actual pity for Iroh. Even if the guard were disgusted by how far he had fallen, you would think that he would sound at least somewhat disappointed.
@The:

There's never even been a hint that Airbenders besides Aang still exist. Unless some sky bisons managed to avoid being extirpated and barring any of the monks fleeing, any Air Nomads that were still around would not really be skilled enough to be called Airbenders.
I still wonder in all of this crap how Aang is gonna learn firebending XP
probably from now buff iroh
i still cant believe that sokka actually learned how to swordfight, kind of. i thought that it would be one of those corny episodes where the teacher is really trying to show sokka that he's strong in his own special way, and that he isnt as weak as he thinks he is. but im glad he can finally get rid of that stupid boomerang. it NEVER DOES ANYTHING!
I guess… it kinda was one of those corny episodes...
but the white lotus thing at the end was cool, and it probably means we'll see the master again
Nah, there was absolutely nothing I didn't like about this episode. Sure Sokka saying he's not that deserving and then later the Master says he deserves it more than anyone else he's met, but other than that there wasn't really anything else corny about it.
oh, that wasn't to say I didn't like the EP, it just felt kinda predictible.
but w00t for sokka being able to kick some ass now!
yeah, he now KNOWS that he can hold his own against enemies like the rest of the group can. by the way, how can one child be a waterbender and the other not be one?

Bending is an art. You have to learn from a master. Sokka probably never felt like getting into magic tricks and decided to be a real warrior.

Huh well according to the official Avatar maginzine
"After a few epsiosdes we'll be changing the title of the show of the show to Avatar One of the Last few Airbenders"
The truth of the matter is Airbenders are still out there.
There's an official Avatar magazine? You mean a magazine completely devoted to a single show? What idiot conceived this idea?
yeah, he now KNOWS that he can hold his own against enemies like the rest of the group can. by the way, how can one child be a waterbender and the other not be one?
Its supposed to be mixture of genetics and spirituality. Some people just can't be benders unless they are from the Air Nomads. All Air Nomads are benders.
@Le:

well they have to be brighter than the idiots who conceived you.
jk
anyway it's only the second time they have come out with the magazine.
pretty sure I saw the cover art for the second issue on DA at some point

that it?

Might I ask what context this quote appeared in?
It sounds more like a joking response to yet another question as to whether or not Aang is really the Last Airbender than a serious statement of intent.
The truth of the matter is Airbenders are still out there.
Considering that everybody in the story line seems to think that they're extinct, that would really come out of nowhere. Well, at least the notion that an actual tribe of Air Nomads still exists would at any rate. If the descendant of an Airbender pressganged into service of the Fire Nation pops up, that's something else entirely. In fact, I'd really like to see what a person raised as both an Airbender and a Firebender would be capable of. Flame tornadoes, anyone?
I guess we'll find out the week after next when Sozin and Roku square off.

It was said in a joking manner. Doesn't mean it couldn't lead to more airbenders, but it wasn't meant to be taken serious.

Based on the episode description both Aang and Zuko hear this story and compare to their relationship with one another. I wonder if they are going to hear two different versions, one favoring Roku and the other favoring Sozin.

Although that would be cool, I thought only the Avatar can master more than one element?
In any case, bending rules have been "bent" before (no pun intended lol), such as Toph bending metal. As long as an explanation is given, it's all good, though I doubt a multibender would show up anytime soon.

That's what I figured, but I wasn't sure if it wasn't a single humorous quote taken out of a more serious discussion of that concept.

Probably so seeing as how the Fire Nation puts their own spin on historic events. Seeing as how even the Fire Sages eventually turned against the Avatar, my guess is that the Fire Lords ran an active propaganda campaign against the Avatar.
I'm kind of curious to see who related Sozin's side to Zuko; whether it'll be Ozai or somebody else entirely, like the twins. Aang, on the other hand, doesn't have to rely on a second hand source, but can get it straight from the horse's mouth.
Although that would be cool, I thought only the Avatar can master more than one element?

Is the notion that only an Avatar can master all four elements a result of the fact that literally only the Avatar is capable of mastering four elements or a result of the division between the nations preventing people from learning from each other? Didn't Pathik say that even the Avatar as a concept helped foster division between the four?
Iroh is apparently able to use Waterbending techniques to manipulate his element, so each nation can learn the other's techniques at any rate. They might not be able to bend that element, but the ability to bend any element seems to be genetic to some extent as well as an acquired skill. So a child with parents from two seperate nations might be able to do both.
I'm so sure that some other airbender besides aang will make an appearance this season that if they don't I will ask ocean to permantly ban me. The same must be done with you Ubiq if they do appear.

I do have to re-watch the season finale again :\ Been too long to remember details with Pathik.
But yes, Iroh is a good example of mixed teaching. He's somewhat of a unique case though (at least so far). I'm feeling kinda opposed to multibenders, because right now, we already have a good set of diverse characters. Adding new characters seem … meh

Michael Chang who (i guess) made that cover has an DA account too. There's a crazy picture of Azula:

edit:
You can watch S01 E07 to compare Iroh to his old self. He's captured and only wearing a loin cloth. Awesome episode btw featuring fight scenes with zuko and iroh versus some earth benders.
!
Coolest Azula Ever
BTW, that spoiler pic is from upcoming chapters?
Yeah, I think only the Avatar can bend all four element, Also bending depends on how spiritual you are, that why all of the Air Nomads were air benders.

you are, that why all of the Air Nomads were air benders.
Glad to see an educated member on this board who knows what he is talking about.
well if bending depends on how spiritual you are, how did most firebenders become firebenders, cause we all know that they aint spirutual, burning houses and taking over cities and other crap like that.
