@Satsuki:
1. People are pretty happy with Marian Hawke (that's the female version of the PC) and her design. including myself. I don't expect or want her to be wearing something "pretty".
This isn't about the character looking 'pretty', something they saved for Flemeth, and likely the other female units. I, in fact, like the idea of doing away with 'boobplates' and other associated idiocies born out of the masturbatory fantasies of Bioware's cadre of nerds. What I don't like is when they do away with that, and then take another ludicrous route in the other direction. Personally the outfit is fine with me, but I'm not okay if the 'hotrod' mindset is taken from that and spread into the rest of the game. Given what they've done to the Qunari and Elves, I can't help but feel that's happened already.
@Satsuki:
And of course the weapon is huge, all the two-handers in DAO were huge.
Setting aside all points about scale and ratios between handle and blade/hammer/pointy end, it's a very different thing to have a large, two-handed weapon, and having a large, two-handed weapon you swing around in a flash with one hand.
@Satsuki:
2. I'm hoping that particular environment is some sort of wasteland. I think the characters look fine, design-wise.
Given that the game is supposed to take place in one city, I doubt it'll matter too much, anyway.
@Satsuki:
3. I'm iffy on the darkspawn-redesign, but since we're not playing Grey Wardens this time, I don't care as much.
Ogres aren't much better than the Darkspawn. On the bright side, they are introducing this neat thing:

4. We knew this. They said they were revamping the combat system for consoles (PC is still good old pause and click), so I didn't expect it to look like the fighting in DAO.
Yes, Bioware did say it was revamping the combat system for consoles. But there should be a distinction made between revamping and changing into a completely alien system; even Mass Effect 2 kept some semblance of its predecessor's style. And hearing the PC version will have 'pause and click' won't be doing any good if its still the same hack and slash game shown in that trailer, with a difficulty level being scaled down because people thought Dragon Age: Origins was too hard. I can't even begin on the story and writing. Not after the abomination that was the Leliana DLC.
I can't say definitively that this game will be good or not. Who knows, maybe past the bullshit from marketing and David Geider, this might turn out to be pleasant in the end. Until I receive some testimonials though, I'll just continue waiting on Bioware to make role-playing games again.
