A pattern can be made from practically anything if you just try hard enough, but in the end that doesn't mean there will be no exeptions. Robin is the living proof of that in this series. You have to remember that the patterns in this thread aren't made by Oda, they're just something fans put together from his work to prove a point.

This isn't about patterns, none of those are exact replicas of eachother. Usopp barely has background shown, he has a light past. Robin had her's withheld for years. Zoro's was brief. Brooke's was after the action.
But what's not a pattern is what's there. In these characters are reasons to think beyond the surface. Human conflicts that make them main character potential. Sanji's loyalty. Usopp's personal improvement and pride in his pedigree. Zoro's honor under his gruff antisocialness. Nami's occasional moment of real grief poking out from a verneer of sassy condescension. Chopper's goofy damaged child behavior. Robin's murky motives and then of course her Alabasta send off of "My dream had too many enemies", as she elects to be crushed by rubble. Franky was clearly intended for more then fodder as soon as he was first positioned as the main antagonist of W7, and later by Iceberg revealing he had more to him, followed by his interaction with Usopp. Brooke's devotion to pushing on even if he was technically dead.
Perona has absolutely none of this. She has no conflict. She has no humanity. She is a composite of gags, fan service, and battle fodder. Punctuated in another trot out of these apaprently popular attributes for a bit part cameo in 1/8 of a side story series.

Said arguments are ignored because they willfully go against what has been presented in the series. The arguments generally used tend to take minor lines, put them far out of context, and turn deaf ears to any other possible point of view rather than taking time to look at the logic behind it.
The only arguments of Perona supporters boils down to the fact that she is with Zoro at the moment, which doesn't mean much given that her time spent with Zoro has been five pages or so, and if she was going to be important, there would be more focus on her or showing how she changed from being the person who abandoned the crew that she had served for ten years only a few days ago. Loyalty is important among the Straw Hat Pirates, and Perona hasn't exactly demonstrated a lot of that, given that when she's in any sort of danger, she will run for her life regardless of who else will suffer.
Actually now that I think about it, it's that you dongs don't have arguments for Perona. Just bad arguments for why reasons she won't join don't count.

That is just a matter of your opinion. If Perona is the flat purification of what you just said, then wouldn't she logically have left Zoro to die in the woods? She is spoiled and clearly in the need of human company/aid. If that does not fit for explainable personality, then this really is just a matter of your personal preference.

Flashback's only feel relevant since they add those ties. I could question if Don Krieg had a bad childhood, but I don't, because the story does not give me reason too. Were he however to get a flashback, I'm sure it would explain a lot of things that we didn't even think about before, and suddenly it seems as if though Krieg's actions shouldn't have been questioned from the start.
