That is just a matter of your opinion.
No, actually there's a point where it isn't.
We can disagree about how funny she is. How cute she is. How cool she is. How quirky her on the crew would be.
But like I can't deny that Oda is writing her to be many of those things for certain parts of his fanbase, you can't deny that he also isn't writing her to be a character beyond surface fun.
And mostly you haven't. You've just stammered about Oda randomly putting those qualties in her later. An argument of such little worth due to being appliable to literally any sentinent life in the series.
If Perona is the flat purification of what you just said, then wouldn't she logically have left Zoro to die in the woods?
Why? Flat characters do flat acts of help or hurt all the time. Is Tileston suddenly a human three dimensional character for being sad about Iceberg? Ridiculous. And how can you not get that word I put in there. Conflict. She has zero fucking conflict. The most important aspect of any important fictional being.
She is spoiled and clearly in the need of human company/aid. If that does not fit for explainable personality, then this really is just a matter of your personal preference.
That's not a conflict. It's a gag. It's tantamount to that guy in MSG games who always needs to pee.
Had Franky not joined or had his flashback, no one would've asked for it.
BUT THEY WERE (i was there punk)
I mean god, you're doing exactly that with fifty times less with Perona.
But people fell in love with Franky when he and Usopp had their conversation. It showed Franky wasn't a surface character.
Same with Robin. It could've all been resolved with words and not images.
Wait, what is this? What are you saying here?
But that was not the case, because they did, and the interest was only there because the flashbacks created their own ties to the plot and made us realize that that's how it was meant from the start.
Wait what? This is bullshit and you acn ask anyone including your goddamned self.
This is the worst argument yet. You're arguing people don't do something you're defending yourself from in this same argument.
Practically the same exact point. This is worse then anything AGOG has even dreamed of.
Without them, no one would've so much as questioned Franky's personality. Robin's actions didn't need a flashback to explain them either. Words would've been enough. Flashback's only feel relevant since they add those ties.
IM NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT FLASHBACKS.
Read my post again. Do it you illiterate buffoon.
I'm talking about conflict and humanity versus fodder fan service.
Why the fuck are you bringing up flashbacks again.
To deny the importance of Oda showing us those conflists and tics?? When your own argument is from the position of less???
I could question if Don Krieg had a bad childhood, but I don't, because the story does not give me reason too.
EXACTLY LIKE PERONA
Were he however to get a flashback, I'm sure it would explain a lot of things that we didn't even think about before, and suddenly it seems as if though Krieg's actions shouldn't have been questioned from the start.
So you are literally suggesting the thing I brought up earlier.
That the only argument you have is Perona has the same chance as literally any sentinent being in the series.
That's basic storytelling.
No! No it isn't! You are never supposed to tell a story randomly! Everything must fit! Must make sense! You make those things hidden and hard to see so that most of the audience can only feel it coming at best. You don't do anything randomly unless you're a goddamn Dadaist.
