No Ace will stay dead.
Iva can't heal dead persons with burned internals… If yes he could heal anyone and wouldn't be afraid about Luffy's condition
And Marco can't revive people. If he could, he wouldn't be that shocked and could revive Thatch way back.
This isn't DragonBall. ACE IS DEAD and he is better for the story now and the preogression of Luffy.

Believing that the plot will follow that route doesn't have anything to do with wanting him to return. I for one am anything but an Ace fan and I'm still convinced that he will be revived at some point.
I'm a total Ace fan (if you couldn't tell from my name) and even I don't think it'll do any good in the story for him to be revived. If you think about it too, Oda-sensei has given us plenty of signs saying that he won't come back:
1. He was the captain of the Spade Pirates, so he was the Ace of Spades, a symbol of death in other cultures.
2. The vivere card completely burned out, in my opinion the main reason the vivere card was created in the first place was to show everyone that this is real.
3. He died with a smle just like all the other "D"s out there.
4. Lastly, Oda-sensei himself doesn't seem like the type to bring totally dead characters back to life magically. You can argue that there are plenty of 'deaths' that looked real (like Pell's) that were emotional and stuff but it turned out they were still alive; but that's the thing, they never died in the first place. Ace is definately dead and the dead can't be revived.

Neither of them is an argument against a revival. To be revived you have to die in the first place. If you don't die then we're speaking of a survival instead.

I'm not a bug eyed Ace fan girl, but I am a fan that would like for him to live somehow because he never got a chance to really "be". He never got a chance to grow and shine in his own right. I was hoping that he'd become a revolutionary…something to make his mark and not just Luffy's brother and Gol D Roger's son that is dead. I wouldn't be surprised if he came back. It seems so unlike Oda to not "finish" a character.

Wow I never really thought of it like that! Oda is defiantly someone who could bend and twist something around as long as it's not breaking his own rules. Maybe there is still some hope left after all but we'll see, I'm not holding my breath or anything but hearing all these different ideas really helps that glimmer of hope :happy:
EDIT: Wow has anyone just read what happened in the latest chapter! They are both gone now! I hope that what ever happens someone will come alone and take care of them, but like I said before, I still have some hope that Oda-sensei will do something amazing!

As in, Ace is revived, but is Gol D. Ace? I believe I've seen that theory before on a different forum.
But if that does happen, then I will take what money I have, fly to Japan, and punch Oda repeatedly in the face Captain Vidal style (you get a cookie if you know the reference).
I understand that it is difficult to accept Ace's death, but if he is revived, then that will be worse. His death will lose all meaning, all power, all punch. Death is better, trust me.
Look, he's not on the side where the Pirates are, and some Marine mooks are already around his body, he's dead now with no chance of a Marco/Ivankov revival.

Same would aply to the chapter titles. And in this very chapter Oda using the chapter title as method told us that Portgay D. Ass Portgas D. Ace is dead.
I didn't like it. In fact, I've deluded myself into thinking that Oda's making an alternate ending, which is where Ace died. >_>
But I suppose it was very well done, even if I didn't want Ace to be killed.

I'm sorry, but that Gol D. Ace theory just pisses me off. So Ace is going to completely forget the fact that his mother freaking died for him and change his name for his father's, who Ace called a "Good-for-nothing"? Yeah, from our perspective Gol D. Roger is amazing and it would be an honor to be related to him, but try to look at it from Ace's perspective. You could tie all the bad things that have ever happened to him and his mother's death to Roger. Unless Ace meets his father in the afterlife and has a lame Harry-Potter-Deathly-Hallows-esque chat with him before being revived, there's no way he'd be on good terms with his father enough to forget the sacrifice his mother did and change his name.
Seriously, you guys are really insulting Oda and Rouge. If you're going to come up with theories of how Ace is going to be revived, try to think about the implications first.

Ace did what was good for the story. And made Akainu an amazing character.
