@flandrian15:
the pacifista don't seem to big of a problem because they don't seem to hold back the major players on the pirates side
The Pacifistas are most likely a lot of what is holding back most of the New World pirate crews, considering the gave us a page with some of the noteable characters names/epithets, I wouldn't say they're not "Major Players." Over 40 pirate crews seems like a pretty important chunk of the WB force to me.
the wall was blocked creating a passage because of someone on the marines side (Moria)
Moria doesn't care about Sengoku's strategy, he already said he doesn't care who wins the war.

You realize that the wall/Akainu combo probably killed countless pirates. So what would you prefer, nobody get out of the dome and magma/lazers spam them all to death? A realistic(in terms of a shounen manga) solution was given to Sengoku's strategy, that doesn't mean he's a bad leader, or that it was ineffective.
stabbing WB hasn't done much to stop him and has actually made the pirates more willing to fight.
lol? We haven't really seen Whitebeard fight before he was stabbed, so sure it hasn't "stopped" him, if you mean killed him. However, it's heavily implied that THE MASSIVE HOLE IN HIS CHEST is hindering his fighting ability, I'm really surprised I have to debate that being shanked with a huge sword through the chest will have adverse effects on ones combat potential.
The marines are, indeed, on the winning side but that has little or nothing to do with the pillar that is called sengoku imo. all the plans he had failed and now it's the power of the admirals that is taking the marines to victory, nothing more, nothing less
It's true that the admirals have done most of the dirtywork, however even Vice-Admiral Onigumo was the one to get Marco is Sea-Stone Hancuffs, you don't think that counts for anything?(since you said nothing more, nothing less). I think it's obvious that the plan to injure Whitebeard, and the plan to trap the pirates in the steel wall(maybe something stronger than steel), both had a serious effect on the tide of battle.(in other words Sengoku has not been useless). Furthermore, you say it's all been the admirals, where were the admirals when Marco was about to make it to the platform? How about everyone the Shichibukai's been fighting?
