Herackles, Charagon isn't saying Robin is a boring character. He's saying that Robin acted similar to Vivi when they were both in stressful situations.
Both Robin at Enies Lobby and Vivi at Alabastre:
-lost hope
-regained hope when she realized she has friends who would die for her
Outside of their stressful situation, both were great characters. Granted, Robin is better than Vivi, but Vivi isn't as boring as everyone says.
its a one piece character thing to keep going even if it means death. They all do it. Vivi is not special in this way. It doesn't make her at all interesting either.
Then all the relentless fighting to achieve their dream is just as meaningless as Vivi.
Granted: Robin got beat the shit out of by Spandam, but she took every hit. But Robin has had twenty years of torment, so she's bound to have a ton of strength.
Vivi is a princess. That's it. Yet she manages to show great strength in her fight.
Please. Luffy kicked her ass. He didn't even use any named attacks.
No matter how much I defend Vivi, I agree that she deserved that punch.
Vivi had to deal with a shichibukai (and failed miserably). Robin had and still has the entire world.
The only Shichibukai that Robin tried to kill ALONE was Crocodile. Notice, she failed miserably too. At least Vivi managed to hit Crocodile. Robin KNEW about Crocodile's powers and weakness, and she still failed.
the only thing i remember of her is her incredible, metre tall forehead.
Her forehead was massive.
Otherwise, her character was meant to be the character we all would be in the situation of being with the Strawhats.
-shocked that Nami and Zoro aren't afraid of being turned into wax statues.
-amazed that the entire crew, despite being pirates, are willing to die for her.
-protective of all crew members, even though she lacks strength.
If one of us were a temporary member of the Strawhat crew and had no powers, personality aside, each of us would be amazed by and protective of the crew.
So basically, Vivi is a female Coby, only without the dream of becoming a marine.
