Grats!
We got Rag down to 16%, so essentially 6%….and we ran out of time. We're going to try and pick it up before the end of the week. Unfortunately we have a huntard that dies a lot and another huntard that refuses to get a wired connection and dc's a lot.

This week Raggy went down with ease, on the 2nd try (1st attempt was a wipe due to a healer DC).
I think we got this down pretty good, gonna work on those heroic nonsense.

Unfortunately we have a huntard that dies a lot and another huntard that refuses to get a wired connection and dc's a lot. We're mostly having attendence issue. We had two people who couldn't make it this week, had to grab a spare guildie and pug (well, not a random pug, a member of another raid guild introduced to us from a friend who have raided with us before)
With the nerfs the normal FL has become so easy, we're already starting to bring our alts.
My main tank alt just got 4 piece T12 bonus this week, and only need shield & head for a full 378 slot fill.
So I'm letting another member bring his tank alt and me bring my (formerly main) hunter "Aohige" to raid the first few bosses.
Our warlock brought his rogue alt, and in one run he got that rogue geared up with 4~5 FL drops (including trash BoE). Lucky bastard. -
We've got Rag down 3 times now and heroic Shannox twice. We gave heroic Baelroc and Staghelm a few tries, but we also had problems with someone suddenly having a crappy connection so we didn't try too hard. I think we're not ready for Baelroc but Staghelm seems doable. Our raid leader will NOT let us bring in alts. It's a weird thing with him, he doesn't play any, so he hates anyone else spending time playing them and refuses to carry an another person's alt in a raid even if they can play it well and there's no gear for their main left.
Also, got up to a 1900 rating in rated BGs :D
-
sigh
Just posted my "resignation" from raiding :<
Now the wait begins.
-
Yeah, noticed you stopped logging on. So, apparently our swtor guild has moved to PVE, making our guilds no longer server compatible. :/
-
:
Profound sadness! -
Yeah, sorry…he kind of stealth changed it and I haven't seen any countering feedback. It would have been cool to start out in a new game with as many allies as possible. I don't even know what SwtOR pvp atmosphere will be like.
-
It's going to be like STV when you reach Tatooine (the starter and capital planets are Faction only so there's no fear of that) but come level 20 ish when you reach planets like Tattoine it gets ugly fast.
Plus you can use /say for cross faction communication :x
Edit: LMAO a guildie just got me a 10 day Scroll of Resurrection xD
I wonder if they will do this until I leave xD

Re-subbed/rolled on an RP server with some close friends (there's 8 of us RP leveling together).
It is indisputably the most enlightening and fun time I've ever spent playing WoW. RP is true endgame.
You don't really know someone until you've RP'd with them, fucking goddamn. I think we may have finally stumbled across the third entity that causes a person's walls to crumble, the other two obviously being nighttime and alcohol.

What server, if I may be so bold as to ask?
-
Moon Guard. Embarrassing as fuck but there's no denying there is always something interesting to be found anywhere you look.
-
I can only imagine.
I used to RP heavily on Maelstrom during Vanilla and BC. My friends are trying to get me to come back, as we still keep in touch and game through vent & Skype, but from the sounds of it Wyrmrest Accord, for all its high points, entertains the same kinda drama that Maelstrom (and any RP server) used to have so I'm not really sold on it. I kinda accomplished everything I set out to do with my characters on Maelstrom, so it's like… well, I don't think I'd be able to recapture that spark for it I once had, I guess.
If I could play and not actually play the game at the same time, that'd be best. I've kinda outgrown WoW.

Isn't that the same server that had a LOT of sexual issues in Goldshire, to the point where Blizz had Blue Posts about putting GM guards there?
Or is that a different RP server?

WoW Starter Edition lets you go to level 20 and never have to pay a dime for it :x

Oh it's that place, IS IT EVER. Moonguard is… a little special. I won't knock it too much if he's having fun on it though.

Yah, I know. But I know me, and I don't have the self-control to not wanna dress my characters in pretty pretty princess gear.
Hell, the entire reason I raided in BC was so I could RP in Tier 6.
-
I myself play on Wyrmrest Accord.

And to think come next patch you'll be able to RAID with Tier 6.
Or whatever gear tickles your fancy.

man that is fascinating. I feel like I've outgrown every aspect of the game (that is, PvE and PvP) aside from RP. Most of us figured it was the only avenue left unexplored in WoW.
Goldshire inn is indeed the controversial place. Honestly though, the fact that it exists makes for good RP lol. As disgusting and vile a place it is, I still seriously recommend everyone roll a human on Moon Guard and just…. just look at it in all it's splendor. I've truly never seen anything quite like it. But we didn't really have any leads on where to go for RP so we just went with the safest route. It's the most populated server IIRC and there really always is someone to talk to or some huge event going on.
-
Well, I played back when Maelstrom had a humongous RP community. It was one of the first RPPVP servers so it was a hot spot for a really long while, until free-realm transfers opened up and gutted the community.
I was in the biggest and most influential RP guild on the server at the time - joining right as it started, rose to be one of it's top 4 advisers and the heart of the guild, and worked hard to recruit and encourage new RPers. We made epic alliances, had serverwide confrontations, weekly events and all that good stuff all throughout BC.
It was fun, but RPers are a dramatic bunch and it wore on me after a while. After my character's stories had kind of come to an end, I wanted to take it easy – so naturally I joined up with a group of skilled raiders that just needed a few more people - and took RPers that weren't terrible at the game on as saved spots. This was back when you had to raid 4 out of 7 days a week (don't miss that part). And back when Paladin tanks hadn't been given the skills to be able to tank every encounter, but I came to be regarded as one of the best on the server anyway.
It was a total blast! We raided all through SSC and Tempest Keep pre-nerf, farmed resist gear, ran ZA bear runs when we got good enough, got attuned for Black Temple, and blazed past most of the other guilds who were struggling in BT & Hyjal, despite starting much later. We got sever 3rd Kalecgos, if that's any indication of how much we raided - and that was pre-nerf. We didn't have the gear for Brutallus by the time the nerfs kicked in, but we did go through and finish out Sunwell anyway afterwards. Then we did Naxx before it closed down forever, and since it'd never been cleared on our server thanks to the top raiding guilds falling apart, got server firsts on level 60 content (lol) -- which was still very hard (fuck you 4 Horsemen), even for decked out T6 raiders.
I'd beaten Kaelthas, Vashj, Illidan, and Archimonde (fuck you). Then Kaelcgos, and every nerfed Sunwell Plateau boss, down to Kiljaeden. Then cleared Naxx. My RP character had started small, grown as a character, was one of the most influential personae on the server, and was assassinated in a poetic and ironic way, mourned by all.
I got to hear Velen say "M'uuuuruu" and restore the Sunwell and I RPed with a Bulwark of Azzinoth and full Lightbringer.
As far as I was concerned, I had beaten the game.
…Never really felt as much of a draw to WoW since.
-
I feel the same emptiness since I killed Arthas…
That was my personal goal (one I thought was just a pipedream) for a LONG time and here we are.
-
Just came in to say THE CREEPY CRATE PET IS AWESOME.
I took it to the farm, and saw it gobble up all the cows.
I took it to raid, and every time it randomly deathgripped a critter and ate it, the group laughed.
Now only if it'd eat Singing Sunflowers….
-
Yeah, the crate is pretty cool. Because it was my 50th pet on my Rogue when I got it, I also got Stinker at the same time, which is also fun with all the black cats running around. I was also happy they let 84s Queue for Headless Horseman, as my Mage is not quite 85 yet (currently working on leveling him). Actually got the 365 Sword on him today. Thought it was the horse at first and about did a backflip.

Haha wow, great read. I've heard glory stories like these from various gladiators and stuff. Stories of betrayal and acceptance and drama, but none of it really seem as centered in the actual game as this. It really seems like there was a time in vanilla and BC where everyone got their chance to rise to power, beat the game, and walk away as a better person. As someone who only started playing the game in WotLK, when Blizzard had totally turned their backs on PvP and server transfers had destroyed any sense of community, I can sincerely say that I had missed out something incredible that WoW had to offer. Although I will say that getting world 30th in a guild with entirely real life friends in cata's first raid tier really made me feel on top of the world. It's so cool that your character was assassinated and passed away into legend. It seems like the only true way to put your draw to the game at rest. All of us do have some emotional attachment to our characters after all. It's kind of beautiful really.
It really doesn't even feel like WoW to me at this point. A few months ago I was so focused on how to use game mechanics in innovate ways to down bosses. I didn't even care about the lore, I didn't even care about my class and race. I just did what was needed. But now I fight alongside one of my best friends in a world that actually feels active and real with characters that actually are capable of growth. It felt really nerdy to me at first but I'm so glad that I'm able to see how incredible it can be.
-
Yeah, RP is something I always kind of wanted to get into but never did. I miss the days when I really was interested in the story going on around me. Usually at the start of the expansion when I start questing I feel like a character again, but by the time raiding starts, it fades away.
So, Blizzcon in less than 2 days. I'll be there, hope the announcement this year is really exciting.

It's interesting, isn't it? I think that kind of tight-knit community was kind of like lightning in a bottle. Back then, raiders and roleplayers became well known by word of mouth, and when PvP happened it was because there were downright RIVALS on the server. The dropping name would have you flocking to defend an area, no matter how remote. We totally epic RPPvP events (like this one: http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=63061) and even though not everyone on the server roleplayed, people were generally pretty respectful if they didn't.
I kinda lucked out, with my character getting killed.
You play a character and there are moments that define the game for you - moments where everything comes together just right or things go horribly awry and you feel like it could've been written that way. My paladin was the clever, moral center to an military order of philosopher paladins and priests that were feared for their numbers and reknown for their sensibility. I studied and poured through the Lore, never having played Warcraft before. I worked hard to raise her up to a position of power and respect, buckled down and guided it through its worst times - whether the guild was beset by internal conflicts or its many enemies, and watched as she experienced some very close calls and very cool triumphs, and evolved as a character along the way.
A lot of people play their characters like death is "only a setback" and in the time I've RPed I've seen more "died and came back to life" storylines that I can count. For me, it kinda takes the punch out of character death. So I promised myself that if the attempt was fair, and the time was right, if any of my characters died they would stay dead forever. And as an RPer, I couldn't have asked for a better set up. One where my character's mistakes and regrets and maybe misplaced trusts all came to an point, on a mountain road not far from the place she was born, at the end of a knife belonging to one in it for the money, one seeking revenge, and someone in it for love. A group that banded together to kill her alone. She died, on a routine march to Uther's Tomb with the entire guild just too far to reach her in time, at the hands of her own very personal enemies, just because she had offered to take Rear Guard. She died surrounded by the tears of those who loved her - her ex, her guildmaster, her mentor and apprentices. Right outside Uther's Tomb. Completely unplanned, completely unexpected, completely unbeknownst to me. It was a perfect damn storm. My guildies were pissed at me, saying "how could the guild run without me?" but… how could I bring a character back to life after that?
She had risen from low places, made wise decisions and unwise ones. She died a very human death in a moment of carelessness under perfect circumstances. Her guild mourned her, but avenged her well.
That's the kind of character you close the book on. One of the coolest experiences I had in WoW, saying goodbye when I never knew goodbye was on its way.
-
Haha that is fanfuckingtastic. I all actually considered the prospect of "staying dead". My character has died I think only 3 times, all of which were just shitty pulls in the dungeon finder. I do kind of tell myself that if my character actually died when I was in character, I would feel obliged to just delete him right then and there, but man I don't think I'd ever have the balls to do it. A lot of the minor fuckups that go down we just retcon or disregard as "not canon", but death is a bit trickier of a scenario IMO. Although I suppose I'm better off than most what with Moon Guard being a PvE server.
But still, that's fucking incredible. …Thank you for sharing your tale of glory. It truly brings a tear to my eye.
-
Well yeah, I tend not to RP inside instances unless I'm with other RPers, and even then wipes are something you've kinda gotta take as they come. I wouldn't count them as actual deaths because then how do you justify the whole running instances thing in the first place? How many times can your character cut off Van Cleef's head? essentially. If I was going by OOC deaths, I could circle the globe if I lined up the number of corpses left from Archimonde alone.
My characters have had plenty of near misses in-character, though. I took injuries in stride - if my pally broke a leg, that leg was on the mend for three weeks. Considering it's a game with MAGIC and demons and such, you kinda have to establish your own rules when it comes to what it takes to injuries and in-character limits. Our server had an honor system when it came to fighting between players - folks who had earned a name for themselves and the community was pretty aware of were generally taken seriously when character vs character fights went down, with guild leaders and the top guild officers given fair allowances. This was possible because the community was tight-knit enough for us to know who the folks you wanted to pay attention to were, and the histories of the guilds they belonged to.
The honor system didn't always work, but it helped out when players who wanted to be villains and said they were Dreadlords (lol) or secretly a dragon (lol) or the inevitable reincarnation of Ragnaros (lolol) came around. Of which there were many.
-
Oh yeah I didn't assume you had just reset or bubble-hearthed every raid boss that went to shit lol
There are definitely a lot of really stupid characters around Moon Guard, but they really just provide some background noise and make some believable crowds to make the world seem much more authentic. I definitely still have a lot more to learn about RP, then. Now I'm super excited. Instead of making 100 alts to test cheap abilities and fuck around in BGs I'll be making 100 alts to live out 100 unique stories. The only limit is my own creativity fuck yeah.
-
Fuck yeah!
We had some fun times.
Here's the sequel to the first Ring of Valor video I posted above. I get real nostalgic looking at it and seeing all the familiar names and faces, seeing myself in the crowd. It was too, too awesome - and a real shame that the community isn't there any more.
http://www.warcraftmovies.com/movieview.php?id=79951
I guess we'll always have the memories.
-
Finally got my tank geared in all 378, T12 4 piece bonus, with the exception of shoulder being 384 Ragnaros drop.
I'm ready and pumped for 4.3. -
Very nice Aohige!
-
Update 11:25AM PST - Chris Metzen is now on stage. We will find out what the new expansion is! according to him.
hope my body can take it
edit: mists of pandaria is the new expansion. monk is indeed the new class. pandas are playable. level cap increased to 90. new continent and
so on. -
OMG PANDARENS MONKS; FUCK YEAH, I'm back to wow tomorrow :D haven't played since the first Cata patch, mainly due to the whole Diablo thing.
-
Thank you, Blizzard.
Finally: I am free.
-
The race I wanted since WC3.
The class I loved since my first Final Fantasy…
I can't afford two MMOs :<
-
Thank you, Blizzard.
Finally: I am free.
Haha my thoughts exactly.
Not to spoil the fun, but this is simply the end. Blizzard doesn't give a fuck.
-

And why should they? They've got Diablo coming out and MILLIONS of Chinese subscribers who'll be all over this.
-
I wanna come back to WoW > u <
I heard rumours that Mists of Pandaria was gonna be the new expansion and now it's true.
FECKING PANDAS. HELL YES.
…I'm guessing there's a special quest where you can decide which faction you go to? pandas can't jsut be on Alliance or just Horde, otherwise shit will hit the fan -
They start as neutral and eventually choose who to support, they can be from both factions.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Haha fuicking awesome pokemon battles with pets on Wow :D
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
HAHA WILD PETS to CAPTURE FOKEN AWESOME
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
HAHA they even appears in certain circumstances like pokemon fucking awesome and before people whine, this is just a fun "mini" game this doesn't affect the lore at all, its just a fun feature.
-
I DON'T LIKE THIS.
Only hunters will have ranged weapons, but they can't have melee.
Talent trees are fucked. YOU EARN A TALENT EVERY 15 LEVELS.
No flying til max level.
Choosing your faction (for Pandaren).
Monks has no auto-attack…Sorry for complaining...
I just hope it's not as bad as it sounds... -
Flying till max level is aweomse imo.
Pandarens have ties with both factions(more with Alliance lore wise) but Chen helped the Horde on War3, I always though they would be an Horde race and some people always though they would be an Alliance race, according to Metzen, Blizzard was going to make them an Alliance race.
No Auto-attack felt weird but not really a huge issue imo, I will see it when I can play it, people who keybind don't really care for that, youre doing your rotation who cares(just my opinion).
Yeah the Hunter stuff bugged me XD.
The thing I'm actually pissed is the lack of characters new models, fuck it when I come back to the game(like I said haven't played in two patches or so) I'm going to change the rest of my charactr to Pandaren or Goblin(already changed a few).
Lol complain away you are entitled to your opinion :P.
-
Hey guys.
Gotta catch 'em all!
-
Love dem minigame, better then giving 300 circles around Orgrimmar before a raid starts.
Watching the stream on the new talents and I'm liking what I'm seeing.
-
fucking kung fu pandas
i keep trying to get out…but they just keep pullin me back in
There's a lot of things I like about what they're doing, especially with totems. Having a class that doesn't auto attack is going to save them a ton of time on balancing issues down the road. The talent revamp still needs some work, i can see cookie cutter builds in some classes and some of them don't seem interesting at all but this is a very very early look and things are subject to change drastically.
-
The Warlock and Warrior trees are SO good they are making me consider having TWO goddamn MMOs…
Well played Blizz, well f*cking played.
-
Sorry Silence that you don't like the Pandaren but….
I TOTALLY DIG THIS.
I hope you can play the monk class with other races.... Drunken Dwarf Monk ftw -
I'm not sensing the same level of epicness in this expansion. Oh well.
-

Hunters don't need to melee. We can shoot you in the face now. All we're losing is a couple of worthless skills and statstick. And everyone is losing a statstick. Heck they may finally give hunters duel wield pistols which people wanted almost as much as pandas. And its a pure buff when your forced up close to a mob.
Most of the old talents will be given without talents or trashed. These talents choices will be more important and not as cookiecutter.
It's only 5 levels. You did it in BC and WotLK. And unlike cata all the zones are on one area.
Pandaren being one fraction only would cause rioting on the streets. It's the only choice unless they make them unplayable.
A lot of MMO's are going this route. Guild Wars 2, Star wars: The Old Republic, DC Universe online. They just following the market.
Give it a chance.
And a chance for my gryphon hatchling to fight! Makes up for Gryphons not making exotic pet list yet.
I'm not sensing the same level of epicness in this expansion. Oh well.
It's hard to out epic the world blowing up. Why run against a brick wall when you can go a different way?
-
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/mists-of-pandaria/monk/
See for yourself Aohige.
:3
I only got a short peek at the news from work, just got off and reading about it.
Awesome. But a Dwarf Brewmaster means I have to raise yet another tank…. and I already have two tanks (War and Pally). Damn
And OMG YES FINALLY!!! No min range for Hunters!!
We're no longer target dummies in PvP! lol -
You should check out MMO Champion's Talent Tree list for every class.
Some of that stuff will make your jaw drop.
