Star Wars Universe - Resurrection F

Yes. there have been some horrible episodes (must stop thinking about Jar-Jar vs Grievous) there have been a ton of great sagas, especially in this season (Krell/Clone Soldiers, Slavers, Obi-Wan/Raeko Hardeen/Bounty Hunter saga, Ventress vs Dooku just to name a few). Plus it debuted the most badass bounty hunter ever in Cad Bane. In the first episode he was in, he
! successfully defeated a Jedi and tortured him to the point of killing him. All with a swagger of a badass
-
! This but Ventress cut off one of Grievous' arm and actually knocked him down without force powers
! Wasn't that after one of the Army of the Dead jumped on his back though? He was doing rather well against her before that.
-
Can anyone help me? I was thinking of asking for this for my birthday in October:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Wars-Clone-Season-Blu-ray/dp/B005DL7ODC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1346169934&sr=8-2It says it only has English on it. But I know the German BDs have German, English, French and Spanish, so I'd assume the UK BDs have the same languages. Heck, even the US ones have all of the languagese according to Blu-Ray.com.
So my question is if that is just a mistake by Amazon, or if they really cut the multiple languages from it. I understand English perfectly myself, but my sister (She'll be 9 by my birthday) has really gotten into Star Wars in the past year, so I'd like to watch with her and while she can understand a decent amount of English, I doubt it's enough for the whole series. So I'm hoping for German on this, as it will be cheaper than buying them seperately.
Also, Clone Wars Season 5 Trailer:
!
Looks great.
! Sidious vs. Maul and Opress will be awesome.. I definitely can't wait for the fight.
! Coruscant's level 1313 is seen. Apparently they worked together with the game's team to keep things in line.
! Clone Commandos.
! And most importantly, the Mandalorian uprising. Finally we can get away from the bullshit pacifist regime.
! I really loved the whole trailer. -
Is the Clone Wars worth watching?
-
Overall? Yes.
There are some weak episodes here and there, but the good ones more than balance that out.
-
Fuck me. That trailer seriously blew my freaking mind.
! Darth Sidious fighting with 2 lightsabers vs Maul & Savage…Oh hell yes. That is too awesome. And Anakin getting jealous and force choking and kicking the crap outta some dude in Padme's office. Hah.
! I'm expecting great things from this season. It really looks amazing. -
ok with the clone wars aside.. has anyone heard of this?
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars_Detours
okay, in my opinion im a tad skeptical about this. but what do guy think of this?
-
I'm….I don't know.
I feel like this is basically "sanitized" robot chicken bits....which is probably not going to be funny. But, it could be case where they start off with LucasArts hovering over them at first and then letting go a bit, so we'll see. I'm ok with the concept, laughing at Star Wars is fine. The jokes just don't seem very good.

if it ends up like robot chicken then i'll avoid it cause to be honest. im not a fan of robot chicken at all.

The animation is nice. I'm curious how they decided who would be normal sized and who would be tiny.
There were a few funny jokes in trailers and clips so far, mainly Obi-Wan made me laugh, but I hope the actual show, like when I see full episodes, is funnier.
-
okay…just saw the trailer. i'll admit it does have its moments. i wait to see how it plays out.
-
Unofficial Star Wars the anime
-
Not bad for a fan creation, I think I'd rather watch this than Detours.
-
Unofficial Star Wars the anime
quite possibly the best fan work in animation i've seen yet.

Who here have read the Old Republic novels, there's a new one that came out November

Awesome

I only read the Revan novel which came out in Nov 2011.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Vongola_Boss_XI:
Awesome
The best lightsaber battle in the whole series so far was Count Dooku vs Ventress & the Nightsisters, whilst he was temporarily blinded - that was epic. 3 on 1 and blinded, and still he effortlessly held them at bay before completely owning them with a force lightning.

well aside from everything we don't already know by now…news from the fan edits.
this just in...Adywan, creator of the famed Star Wars Revisited, strikes again after showing off a sneak peek of the Battle of Hoth in Empire Strikes Back: Revisited.

Hm, what an odd place for a spam bot to reply.
So about Clone Wars, I posted another link in the Clone Wars thread under the Western Animation forum. Keep in mind that the series isn't stopping cold turkey, they're "winding it down" and will probably show either some episodes, or else tv specials/movies that will finally conclude the series.
I'm guessing the new series will probably take place around the time that the new movies are set in.

Clone Wars is done but another animated series is in the making
-
Clone Wars is done but another animated series is in the making
two things a saw in that clip.
! that tarantula guy apparently survived his death.
! and it seems we are shown signs of Order 66 kicking in prematurely -
It could be a good thing - look at the positives that came out of Kingdom Hearts Disney + Square Enix.
Telltale might get access to more of Lucasarts IP's which would be good.
-
Will this cancellation affect Telltale's non-Star Wars games?
An animated series will be nice for the stories of Kal Skirata, of course that's still part of episode 2-3. I always did liked the Last of the Jedi series also but I don't know if these people know anything about it.
-
The new series will more than likely take place between Episodes VI and VII.
-
Our DC Entertainment source who has been sharing Justice League movie updates with us and more has provided us with a new batch Star Wars details.Previously our source told us that Star Wars Episode VII might take place 30 year after Return of the Jedi and feature a disciple of Palpatine, and most recently gave us details about a possible Darth Maul spin-off movie.
The latest is in regards to the new Star Wars animated TV series as well as the direction Disney will be taking their various related media including the video games. We know that Disney recently canceled Star Wars: The Clone Wars and closed down the LucasArts video game division.
We're told a majority - if not all - the Star Wars related media will be focusing on events following Episode VI, which would include the spin-off movies, TV and video games. Our source said his LucasFilm friend offered the following.
• The new animated Star Wars TV series may focus on the Rebellion taking down the remaining remnants of the Empire spread across the galaxy. It's said to be similar to The Clone Wars in which it features a large cast of characters and doesn't focus on a sole group (i.e. Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo).
• The spin-offs films could include original characters and may not be focused on a well known character (i.e. Boba Fett, Han Solo etc).
• However, a spin-off may possibly be set before Episode I for certain characters (i.e. Yoda).
• New video games will be post Episode VI and could be based on the TV Series being developed.
• There will more than likely be video games based on Episode VII, VIII and IX.Everything sounds really obvious and can easily be simple guess work. However, if this is all true, I don't like all media focusing on one era. I like it when the games go into different eras, like KOTOR.
As for the TV show, unless they decide to keep the current EU, which is unlikely, I'd love to see the rebels taking back Coruscant. And Hamill voicing Luke.

this art w/ the new animated series can be based on the star wars hand of thrawn series…if they don't do it as a movie, which looks like it wont, then animated series for it could work also. I never really read Vector Prime either (or the ones after it) so that might work also.
-
Damnit, I was REALLY looking forward to that 1313 game…

It won't. They aren't interested in getting into the Expanded Universe at all.

Some news on the new Star Wars TV-Show:
Production has begun on Star Wars Rebels, an exciting, all-new animated television series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time. Scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.
Leading the development of the series is a creative team of exceptional talent. Screenwriter/producer Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Sherlock Holmes, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) is an executive producer on Star Wars Rebels and will write the premiere episode. He is joined by Dave Filoni as executive producer, who served as supervising director of the Emmy nominated Star Wars: The Clone Wars since 2008. Executive producer Greg Weisman brings with him a wealth of animation experience with credits such as Young Justice, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Gargoyles.
Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, said, "The entire team at Lucasfilm has provided extraordinary creativity and innovation for over three decades, and we're thrilled to be bringing the expansive and imaginative world of Star Wars to Disney XD's viewers."
"I couldn't be more excited to explore new corners of the Star Wars universe," said Kathleen Kennedy, president, Lucasfilm. "I think Star Wars Rebels will capture the look, feel and fun that both kids and their parents love about Star Wars."The action-filled series is set between the events of Episode III and IV – an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Details about the show are a closely guarded secret at this point.
Star Wars Rebels will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, featuring many of the key talents that made Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Fans attending Star Wars Celebration Europe will be the first to get an exclusive look at the new series. Casting will be announced at a later date. More information about this developing project will be found on StarWars.com and on Facebook at facebook.com/starwarsrebels.
Sounds pretty cool. It's called Star Wars: Rebels and takes place between Episodes 3 and 4. First episode will air in fall 2014. Haven't watched the video yet, though.
Seeing as as people will be wanting lightsaber battles, I wonder how they'll be doing it, what with Order 66. I'm sure we'll see some new jedi who survived Order 66 and are being hunted down, but most jedi are dead now. From Clone Wars we still have Ahsoka, Ventress and Maul left open, and unless it things have changed, Kento and Galen Marek and Rahm Kota from Force Unleashed (Shaak Ti, Kazdan Paratus and Maris Brood, too I guess). Then there's the obvious Obi-Wan, Yoda, Vader and Sidious.
Lol, that's a pretty decent lot and I'm sure we'll get new people.
-
One of the few Jedi's who survived Order 66 was Ferus Olin, who actually left the jedi order early on, but they will do something new not a lot pf people know about, unless they do a series with Ahsoka.
There was also a duel that Yoda was in during that time, dont remember who with though.
-
I purposely didn't mention any Expanded Universe characters, though I assume some may have a chance at appearing with slightly changed up stories.
-
I assume then that it's not simply and animated version of Starkiller's story?
-
Doubt it. It sounds like it takes place in the early days of the empire, so at most we'll see a young Starkiller. His dad could do stuff, though. I can't see the show not going to Kashyyk at one point.
-
Maybe Ahsoka's story will continue on in this new series. Exciting prospect, but frankly, my dream would have been for them to do a series set in the Old Republic era, as a pre-quel to the Old Republic MMO. The Galactic civil war between the newly resurgent Sith Empire and the Republic woulda been awesome. So many battles, so many famous Sith Lords and Jedi in that era…..it woulda been awesome to see them...
Oh well. I can always dream.
-
-
The new series looks promising with all those people involved in production. Good time period, too. Not sure what characters would be involved though. Probably a lot of new ones. Hard to say without knowing exactly how close it takes place to III or IV, but Han Solo's early career could be part of it.
-
Experiencing Darth Vader in a weekly animated format will be sublime.
I wouldn't be surprised to see some original Jedi who survived Order 66.
Would enjoy a continuation of Ahsoka's story as well.

Clone Wars Season Five boxart:
I was honestly expecting (and hoping for) Ahsoka. She had 3 out of 5 arcs about her, including the finalé. Though, I guess this works nicely next to season 4's Maul.
Some Rebels stuff:
The logo:!
And some new concept art(Including the main characters ship "Ghost":
!
The logo is nice. I like the rust and dirtiness of it. Gives off a 90's vibes to me. The "Ghost" is nice looking. I'm loving the MyQuarieness of it all and the return to the bigger clunkier ships.
Star Wars Celebration Europe 2013: Star Wars Rebels Logo, Art, and Details Revealed
July 27, 2013
Star Wars Rebels Executive Producer Dave Filoni pulled back the curtain on Lucasfilm's highly anticipated animated series for Star Wars Celebration Europe attendees today, discussing the huge influence of original Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie on the look and feel of the show, and revealing the series' unique logo and select designs.
Filoni talked at length about the use of McQuarrie art as a springboard for the series, showcasing many works from the original trilogy, including landscapes and characters, and detailing how they inform the visual identity of Star Wars Rebels. For Star Wars Rebels, fans were given their first look at the Ghost, which will be the main character's ship and play a big part in the series, as well as a computer rendering of a very McQuarrie-esque Stormtrooper, the interior of a Star Destroyer, and more. The show's logo, a minimalist yet powerful design, is notable for its orange and black color scheme, which recalls the flight suit colors of Rebel pilots in the original Star Wars trilogy.
While unable to attend in person, Executive Producers Simon Kinberg and Greg Weisman shared their excitement for the series in a video message recorded specifically for Celebration attendees.
The series is set between the events of Episode III and IV – an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. It takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.

It is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, and will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world. And John Williams is returning for Episodes VII-IX:
Not really a surprise, but it's still nice to know.
-
I was hoping for a little more detail about Rebels than that, but it's cool still. I'm guessing they're saving all the bigger chunks of news for D23 next month.
-

It's looks like Ralph McQuarrie because it pretty much is Ralph McQuarrie; while there's been a few changes, that's a rejected design for the Falcon.

This is also encouraging [http://metro.co.uk/2013/07/29/star-wars-episode-7-to-see-less-cgi-and-more-models-and-real-droids-3902277/
I](http://metro.co.uk/2013/07/29/star-wars-episode-7-to-see-less-cgi-and-more-models-and-real-droids-3902277/)'m always a fan of more practical effects whenever possible.
-
It would make a nice change - after all Episode 3 was all done indoors behind a green screen
-
And that's just lazy and terrible if you ask me. A lot of the stuff in the prequels felt very hollow and fake because of all the CG and green screens. Game of Thrones is an example of how much being on location adds to the authenticity of the story.
-
Have you seen this? They took Lucas's original rough draft for Star Wars and made it into a comic. http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/trailer-star-wars-comic-reveals-old-luke-green-175850736.html
Weird.
