What happened with Episode 406? ACSF , Yibis , Kubusubs non has released anything yet does anybody know what is happening ? I know that Episode 406 is a filler. I already found the RAW in http://www.nyaatorrents.org/ so let's just wait for the release. The episodes are currently 34 chapters behind the manga. I don't really know what will Toei do but i heard that episodes 406 and 407 will both be fillers, and also we are going to have one week without Episode in order for the manga to go to 39 chapters ahead of the anime. We will be waiting to see what will happen

They bring old and sometimes forgotten characters to interact with other characters that they normally wouldn't interact with in the normal series

The anime is getting DANGEROUSLY close to the manga.
As much as people hate Filler, it's a necessary Evil, although honestly, Toei has a much better track record for good filler than most other anime.
Regardless, Toei needs to do MORE Filler, because the more they do, the less they have to DRAAAAAAAAAAAG OOOOOUUUUUUUT in the main plot.They do more Filler, hopefully we stop getting 1-Chapter-1-Episode Pacing.

! Straw Hat Separation Adventures as a strange kind of "Canon-Filler". Which, everyone and their mother knows Toei should do, and EVERY SINGLE SIGN is pointing to the probability that they WILL do this
That would be the best case scenario, but really honestly, however they do it, More throwaway filler like this is better because you can literally completely ignore it and not lose any of the main plot, and it pads out the area between where the anime is and where the Manga is, so we HOPEFULLY can stop this bullshit pacing.
I mean, Toei will NEVER catch up to the manga.
They may have to resort to Namek Arc DBZ-Style Pacing though, and NOBODY WANTS THAT!!

Just nice to see characters that should not meet interact, it's just fun and it's already good enough for me.
For sure I like much better this kind of filler that extra Grand Line bolonies stories (like this time travelling kids, that was borring)

Why are people whining anyway? The only subgroups actually subbing every week now are KubuSubs and Yibis. Yibis usually releases around Wednesday, and KubuSubs Monday-Wednesday.

well, it's not THAT close actually. it's two arcs behind(short arcs though.).
i just looked it up and saw that 407 will be the second part of the filler eps. starting on 406.
with 408 it's back to canon material and luffy's landing on amazon lilly. i thought they might put in a filler arc with pacifista landing on some random island, but i guess they'll stay on course for the next few arcs(or maybe they'll do 'a bots life' after luffy's trip to amazon lilly).

I enjoyed the anime being that fast besides even adding stuff like the pacifista vs law and kidd (which was really not that good). It was like "wow they're now trying to stop being that slow".
Or do they do fillers to raise the quality of their animation? So that we get better episodes of the real thing? I don't understand…

I was actually interested in this filler to be honest.
The preview sold it well enough for me - however I can understand that translators may use fillers as their break period, so they may do it at their leisure and not feel compelled to get it subbed and uploaded in record time.
It may come or it may not in the end we are at the mercy of those that have the ability to translate. -

That is ARCS, but the two arcs in Question are REALLY short.
Amazon Lilly was only like what, 7? 10 Chapters? The way the anime USED to be adapted, that would only make about 3-5 episodes. 6 eps max.
(We can TALK about Amazon Lilly's name at least I think, it's been revealed in the newest Ep Titles we got)! And as For Impel-Down, so far it's only 23 Chapters, that's not Very Much at all
so putting that all together, we're only about 33 Chapters away from catching up. That IS DANGEROUSLY Close.
And "Asking Oda" to add stuff doesn't work necessarily if there isn't stuff to add would hurt the overall pacing.
Toei did this with Dragon Ball Z. Yes, Raising the SPEED is what we want. Fast, good pacing. What we have now is Slow pacing because they're only adapting about One Chapter per episode, and it's slowing down to a crawl.
Toei NEEDS to do more filler.
Luckily, they have the perfect opportunity with…! The Straw Hats Separation…

Yeah, now that they're separated, Toei has a PRIME chance to show, and elaborate on what the Straw Hats have been doing since getting separated. Now I won't say WHAT they've been doing since it IS a spoiler, but I will say that Oda has been glossing over it. Only showing us snippets of what's been happening instead of giving us a full picture. Skipping ahead through Key events. This is the PERFECT opportunity for Toei to go in and do some new Canon-Filler and elaborate on what the crew has been doing.With 8 Straw Hats to pull from (not including Luffy) showing what they're doing could potentially mean a mini-arc of up to 5-10 episodes for EACH of them, and it would probably all be really fun to watch, even for those of you who hate the filler.
PERFECT chance for Filler, Toei would be STUPID not to roll with it.(Note: Definition of Canon-Filler: Filler that reflects things that are actually canonical to both the Anime AND Manga storyline, unlike normal filler which is generally believed to be non-canon and is usually ignored. For examples, see the "Daddy the Father" Episode of Loguetown, and Rob Lucchi's Past in Enies Lobby)

Or the parts that dragged on in Water 7/Enies Lobby. Most chapters did not have enough meat to hold an episode, but Toei made that possible with relentless dragging.

Actually, during W7 and EL they padded it out a lot with REALLY Long Recaps too, so the rest of the episodes weren't that bad.
Sitting through it Week-to-week was bad, but I recently Marathoned the entire series with my significant other, and found that when you skip the Epically long recaps, W7 and EL actually Go by fast.

"After that heart shattering episode, let's put some bullshit filler that has NO connection to the story!"
Just go to the next arc, and put filler WITHIN that arc. I don't think people will mind the EXTRA interactions amongst the characters of that arc.

Well, Toei HAS to animate the current cover story at some point, it's directly related to the plot and not random crap like Enel in the Moon or Ace's milk adventure. The question is "when".

Everyone seems to want the Separation of the crew as filler.
Problem is that Oda would have very strict plans for what is going on with them, I don't think it is going to be them just rocking back up together and no one knowing what happened there.! Once Luffy has finished the current section and no doubt learnt how to control his Haki a little more or goes into "training"
I think that all the separation episodes will be coming and seen as the upgrade times for them. Getting more powerful and stronger and Friggan Ussop learning to reach into his bag bring out the Impact Dail for when people are at close range which is where he is most vulnerable. God damn it he gets a ton of Dials and only use them in a fight with Luffy. If he was half as serious fighting others as he was fighting Luffy he'd actually be more then just a punching bag most episodes.
(Although I have noticed him getting less and less injured as storylines progress he doesn't end up in as many bandages as he used to.) -
I'm cool with Edo Luffy fillers. They're the best fillers in my opinion, since they're entertaining without adding anything stupid to the normal world of One Piece. I kind of want to watch all of them together once these two new ones are out since everyone who got One Piece from me skipped most of the filler but they want to go back and watch it anyway.

I was eagerly awaiting being able to watch this episode with subs. I like this style of filler. It allows complete freedom by the writers to use who they want how they want. It's more original works involving the strawhat crew, what's not to like? Since I read the manga, these are the first anime episodes in a long time where I don't already know what's going to happen.

Generally, the reason we get episodes subbed so quickly is beacause the earliest subs are hardsubs, meaning they're not actually translated, as the manga text is just used. Also, there's not as much interest in filler, though since I'm all caught up, I look forward to filler more because it's new material.
