Oh yeah, it took me forever to beat Xaldin! I actually had to level up, then come back to fight him again.

Yea, the only problem I had with him was I couldn't touch him, like he was immortal like Hades on fire and the zombie pirates. I don't know how I started being able to hit him but I think I used magic…I completely fogot.
-
Xaldin was a blast, I LOVE the hard bosses… the only reason I beat him on my first try was because Mickey Mouse kept saving me XD
-
Yea, he saved me 2 times in that battle.
-
I died consistantly at two points in the game on Proud, the giant Nobody at the start, and the end boss.
My deaths at the Nobody were mainly because of the character's overall weakness and awkward nature of the battle whereas the end boss was simply confusing as hell. It wasn't hard, I just didn't know what to do ESPECIALLY at the end!!! Did anyone else not realize what buttons you're supposed to push or was that just me because I got to that point about 4 times and even though my health was fine it counted me as dead just because I wasn't pushing the button it wanted me to push. THAT was a pain in the ass.
If you want the secret movie and played on anything less than Proud, my heart goes out to you.

You mean
! Where you had to deflect all those beams?
I had the same problem. Although once you figure out what to do it looks awesome.

Yes
! Well, here's the thing. First I hit the shit out of Triangle and GOT MY ASS KICKED. Then did it again, and GOT MY ASS KICKED. Then I tried X and deflected everything and didn't lose all my life BUT IT STILL COUNTED ME AS DEAD WHEN THE SCENE ENDED! Apparently nobody had this problem because no FAQ or thread at gamefaqs addressed the issue. Getting to that point so many times was just a pain in the ass.

! Sort of the same here. Since I was playing as Riku so much beforehand, the first two times I thought Riku had to defend Sora. I didn't know Sora had a command, and I died twice before I figured it out.
-
Yeah that's kinda what I mean. It was just a big mess. The first was all over the place but it was big and cool and made sense. If anyone can attempt to make sense of whatever THAT was I'd love to hear it.
-
KH2 is so Star War-ish.
-
Xaldin was the only boss that Mickey had to come out and save me.XD
Was there ANY way to dodge his main attack?
Speaking of things we didn't like in KH2. I despise Atlantica! I hated it in KH, and now I have to go there again in KH2 to play stupid songs.
-
I thought Atlantica was really neat. It could have been one of the best parts of the game if I hadn't already seen the film so many times. The original seemed to take some interesting, albeit shallow, takes on the properties. Whereas here it was literally more repetative than a recycling plant. I found myself skipping through new scenes by the end.
Just curious, does anyone actually know why I was running around 'opening new doorways' anyway? For the life of me I can't figure out the purpose of what I was doing for about 40 hours.
-
Bleh, Atlantica. The Pride Lands is one of my favorites though. And it's the first time that I noticed that the guy who played the King in Coming to America was the VA for Mufasa. =/ I still remember the day I saw it. After the movie they took me to Burger King and I got a Rafiki toy in my kids meal. sniff Nostalgia….
@omae:

Well, like Yen Sid said. You needed to open those doorways in order to travel to the other worlds.
And the Gummi ship game have seriously improved. It was so boring in KH.
-

Yeah, Xaldin was a pain for me as well. I lost against him twice, both times Mickey came and helped, but I still lost. I leveled a bit more and then beat him quite easily, without Mickey's aid at all. His main attack, all I can estimate is pressing Triangle at the right moment, or trying really hard to avoid him… I found no way to avoid his stupid giant dragon thing, where he'd shoot that wind at you from the bridge.
And I, for one, love the new Atlantica. The musicals are fun, and so much better than the crappy swimming controls the last game had, especially beacuse Atlantica turned out to be about the longest level in the game, that wasn't fun.
-
Well, like Yen Sid said. You needed to open those doorways in order to travel to the other worlds.
Now, I'm not arguing with you since you didn't create the story but how come all the pathes openned up in the first game weren't open? And furthermore, wasn't that the point of the Gummi Ship?
In addition to the awesome fighting system, the Gummi stuff was REALLY REALLY cool!!!! I think I spent more time on that than anything else.
-
@omae:

because when they closed to door to Kingdom Hearts they all closed
and that part of the final boss you guys were talking about, I just meshed both triangle and x and it seemed to work well
-
@Sonique:

Yea, thats what I did. That was the best part of that battle, it looked so tight!
Personally, when fighting like what…the third final round with the boss? I was there for like 10 mins after he blew me off the ship cause I didn't know what to do. I had to read a frickin walkthrough (>
-
because when they closed to door to Kingdom Hearts they all closed
But when they found the door in the first game at the end, it was closed before it opened. And on top of that what was up with the firing the keyblade at random objects like…Membership Cards??? o_O
So much could have happened with the story but...it just didn't. I mean, at least in KH1, you really felt that Ansem was an ass if for nothing less, corrupting the hell out of your best friend.
But here it's just like. "Oh hey what's up. What's you evil plan? Oh, you don't really actually have one? You just kinda wanna do ____. Well, ok, fair enough. Good luck and all."
You know who I did like? The gun guy. He was awesome even if his "as if's" were terribly awkward. He and that giant thing from the Lion King were really neat fights.
And just one more thing I need to get off my chest....SOMEONE GET AERITH SOME PROZAC FOR CHRISSAKE!!!
-
Yea, Aerith's voice did bug me alittle….what bug me more is appearently that what her voice is gonna be in the dubbed Advent Children too. Good thing she only has a few lines.
-
lol, completely agree with Aeris voice. Mandy Moore did a hell of a better job than she did. At least the other ones are good. And thank god Sephiroth is not Lance Bass anymore and Yuffie isn't played by Christy Carlson Romano.
-
what bug me more is appearently that what her voice is gonna be in the dubbed Advent Children too.
Actually, www.gamesarefun.com had a review of the dub up and the writer said it wasn't as poor as it sounded in the game.
Although he said like…4 words...I liked Lance's Sephiroth. I dunno if they enhanced his voice or whatever but it sounded better than whoever is doing it now. It doesn't have the edge that the Japanese voice did. Cloud's is a decent match for sure though.
-
yeah I miss Lance Bass too =/ he did just fine to me
-
Ahh screw it. I'm tired of trying to complete olympus. I'll just watch the secret ending on youtube.
-
that's what I did XD
Omae BTW, I forgot something about the door that they closed and stuff… it was defeating Ansem that seperated the worlds, not closing the door, I forgot about that.
BTW what do you guys think of MY aerith? This is me as Aerith:
http://killthemongoose.satamsonic.com/aerith.avi -
Didnt Cids voice bother you guys at all?
Anyway two things to say,
I found a really cheap way of leveling Master form,You go to Halloween town inside Santa's house with a full drive bar. Then go outside and use Master Form and go near the Spinning merry go round and spin it when enemies are really close to it.
repeat that until no more enemies or your drive bar is low,When it is low go to the save point and go to world map,Then from there go back to that same spot and repeat.Doing so lots of the drive balls plus money is gained, after about a couple times I got Master form at level 3(I think level 3,it might be 4)Also Im at the part where it blocked some worlds with some green sheilds and I just got done with halloween town part 2,Im level 36 right now am I at a good level?Or am I too far behind?
And how do I get to go back to those blocked worlds?
-
Just beat certain worlds the 2nd time.
-
complete the other worlds's's..es.. second quest
oh whoops, someone beat me to it.. ill post my aerith again:
ttp://killthemongoose.satamsonic.com/aerith.avi -
ok thank you,And I think I am too low of a level right now.every hit takes a chunk from my life bar.
-
Concerning the secret ending
! Well, it was obvious it was going to be incredibly vague but I guess we're having a KH3 coming our way. The plot does look interesting though. What with those keyblade wielding Power Rangers.
-
The plot does look interesting though. What with XXXXXXXXXXXX
Which is exactly what I thought about 2….and yet....
-
I'm not a FF fan but when I heard Cid's voice it killed me inside for some reason. o_O
-
I didn't like the guy's voice but at least the guy could act. I hated Sonic the Hedgehog's voice in the old cartoons for a while but then I started to like it because he acted so well. At least it wasn't bad acting and sounding horrible like Aerith.
Which makes me think, I wonder what VAs think when they do a voice then go online to read everything thinks they suck XD
-
What?? Lance Bass isn't Sephiroth? Aerith's voice is shit? Cid's voice is shit?
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
-
I'm not a FF fan but when I heard Cid's voice it killed me inside for some reason. o_O
Cid having a country accented voice is no suprise. In FFVII he is from a country town in the middle of nowhere.
-
Cid having an accent should come as no surprise.
Cid talking like an old man that lost his will to live and has no teeth left that apparently is on ritalin did.
-
Most of the voices were pretty good. I heard that for Mufasa, they just ripped sound clips of James Earl Jones from The Lion King. Aeris' new voice is kind of dull. Also, Xigbar's sounded weird to me. Was it me, or did he sound like a surfer?
-
Besides Cid and Aeith, I thought they did an excellent job really. The lines were questionable though.
Plus I liked Axel's/Simba's VA better when he was doing Leonardo or Liquid Snake but that's another story.
-
@Sonique:

Christy's slightly scared of being a VA for that reason (although she wants to be one very badly). When she starts playing a character for FF15 or whatever, she is going to cry when people talk about omg how much she suxorz compared to the seiyuu she's "impersonating" or whatever. because damn, seiyuus are all much more hot than Christy. Hopefully she'll be able to have enough emotion to get past the fact that she's not eye candy.
-
Cid's voice is so so. Even though he's the oldest member in the FFVII gang (apart from Nanaki) he shoudn't really sound like a hillbilly grandpa. But I'm not too annoyed by it.

Cid was older than Red XII. Red XII was 38 in human years, Cid was in his 40s.
-
Personally I think Yuffie was the only one who really benefited from a voice change.
-
@Advent`:
Cid was older than Red XII. Red XII was 38 in human years, Cid was in his 40s.
No he wasn't. Red was 48 in human years. Cid was 32.
-
hey…that made me think. Why doesn't sid fight? We all know he'd beat the crap out the heartless....and why can't we summon Red XIII..and i am yet to see kefka in a kingdom hearts game. That really disappoints me.
-
No he wasn't. Red was 48 in human years. Cid was 32.
But in comparison of human's age, Red was only about 16 years, cmiiw.
-
But in comparison of human's age, Red was only about 16 years, cmiiw.
I know that. He's still technically older than everyone else (and technically younger than everyone else too actually XD). Besides, I excluded him from my post when I said that Cid was the oldest amongst the FFVII bunch.
-
and why can't we summon Red XIII..and i am yet to see kefka in a kingdom hearts game. That really disappoints me.
Apparently developers are saying that FF is just on the sidelines. They aren't supposed to appear just for the sake of being there. Sephiroth, Christy guesses, is just an exeption because OMG everyone loves him.
BUT DUDE, if Kefka appeared in a KH game… Christy would own it NO MATTER WHAT. Hopefully he'd still have his "Rarararara!" laugh =)
-
Again, I'm not a Final Fantasy fan and never really played but, I notice still no "Vincent" dude…
I just rented KHII again, now to do what I didn't get to do.
-
vincent is highly overrated.
-
Cause hes a vampire wannabe?
-
pretty much. and people say he rocks in the game but he sucks. he does horrible damage and when you use his limit break you can't control him.
