I disagree, Gunther while greedy and tied to human (penguin?) earthly (oooly?) desires, seemed distressed by what he had caused to the alien people, and that he has grown to love his life on earth and then ooo as well.
Adventure Time!

-
he's just a total scumbag with 0 redeeming qualities. i hope that moth dumps him in a sun.
-
Huh. Martin is a greedy Luffy without any moral code.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Not Blackbeard, he lacks luffy's charisma, and martin's selfishness (as far as we know)

I was kinda…underwhelmed by the Comet finally arriving.
They kept hyping it up to be this harbinger of change and whatnot but the only real difference is
! Bubblegum isn't in charge of Candy Kingdom anymore and Finn's arm is a plant again
Orgalorg totally didn't live up to the hype (then again neither did Maja's "Big Plans"), and Martin just feels like a pointless tease that never went anywhere.
Bannana Guy didn't even get to talk >_>
-
! So the Candy Kingdom ousts PB and elects King of Ooo instead. Hmm, that's democracy for ya.
-
So i guess the comets are living beings? Are they a race of comets or are they man-made? it seems to me like powerful beings are being trapped in comets and flung at planets
-
I don't think they're/it is alive in the sense that they can die. Finn was a comet, The Lich was also a comet, now there's this new comet who claims to have existed since forever and also remembers being The Lich and Finn.
I think the comet is like a loop except each iteration is different. My guess is that since the comet remembers it's past iterations it's existed and crashed since the universe began. Each time living a life and learning and dying and being reborn (in Finn's comets case as a buttefly and eventually Finn) but simultaneously still existing in a state that's waiting to crash and become something else. But I don't think it's ever met one of it's former selves before and that's why it presents Finn with the choice it does. To exist like the comet does without the limitations of time or space or to keep existing.
I feel like Finn already had solid closure with Martin when he sent him off into space but this time it feels like they both have some closure with each other. Martin's right that no answer about Finn's past will really change him, as a member of the audience I still want to know though.
I enjoyed it. It didn't feel as epic as Prismo and reality being shattered but a lot happened. Finn's got a knew arm. I hope PB pulls a Lemonhope and just enjoys her time to herself but I have a feeling he's very attached to her former subjects.
-
Two requests of the next season
1: resolve the history between finn and martin
2: resolve the issues with ice king
That is all.
-
I would be really surprised if they brought Martin back.

I would be really surprised if they brought Martin back.
They'd have to in some shape or form, especially as his mother still needs to be covered.
Besides the opportunities for more twists or life lessons is too great for the creators to ignore.

New episodes every weekday, next week. Also.
Alternative opening for the new 8-part mini series coming out November 16th.
There's alot of trivia I could add to this post, but hey. I'm pretty exited for Season 7.
-
That intro just sounds… off. Part of it is just because I'm so used to the regular intro but adding "and Marceline and Princess Bubblegum" makes it sound clunky.
-
Marceline is cutting her hair? Or already did and I missed an episode?

Marceline is cutting her hair? Or already did and I missed an episode?
Maybe somewhere before the mini series, considering the title card images I seen. And well
The preview for the season premiere
(edit: it's from one of the ones next week)
-
That intro and that clip have me so excited.
-
There was a new episode of Adventure Time? There has also been some leaks but I do think the first one actually aired.
! I always like finding out more about PB so this was a nice episode for me. I also liked that even though she clearly loves Neddy she loves him enough to give the the space that makes him feel comfortable. And that's ok, that they're separated constantly but still care for each other.
! I wonder how long the King of Ooo thing is going to last. -
! From what I heard at AT panel interviews, the King of Ooo situation may not be immediately "fixed" this season at all, but there would be something to take from it.
Aside that, I liked the episode. The subtle little contrast from Finn hating the armor to liking it is neat when you realize he only felt that way being Bonnie's knight for a moment.
Also, it's kinda weird to me when this show does flashbacks from time to time(I think this was the actual second time). It's probably needed at this point considering all the subplots and plots, but it still feels kinda off to me. Especially when episodes themselves are mostly self contained little tales with reference to earlier episodes hinted behind subtle dialogue. Now it feels like they are trying to make their storytelling… more obvious? Which is okay, but. eh -
Tell Bubblegum I wear her nightgown. Tell EVERYONE!
I laughed a lot during the last episode which if forgot to mention. Usually I just watch this show with a constant smile on my face. This one was less laughing but the smile was there. I'm enjoying King of Ooo's reign so far as it means we get to see Bubblegum off her throne which I'm continuing to enjoy. The longer it goes on the better. Some really touching moments with her and Marceline. From that shirt thing way back with the wind witch and their age we know these two have a lot of history between them. I would like for the show to go deeper into how it thinks time would affect such a relationship besides just taking people for granted but maybe that's the take away.
100% loyal garden citizens. She's not taking this well at all and I hope it takes a season to flesh it out. So good.
-
I wonder if Ice King will try to marry this new princess of Candy Kingdom. e_______e
-
Those varmints were genuinely disturbing. Surprised they were able to show them getting crushed to death by Marcy.
-
Not a fan of this second episode. It just seemed so common in every aspect, like something I could see in any other cartoon.
EDIT: And the third episode was much worse.
-
The King of Ooo is rapidly becoming my favorite character.
Well, that was certainly… an ending.
-
Really liked the second episode of the current bunch alot. Fun episode with some hint of history and sweet moments between Boonie and Marcy. I think I've watched it like twice because it was so great just seeing more of M&B's abilities, especially a bunch of Marcy shapeshifts I've never seen before. I'd honeslty rather see more episodes like this than their dark/experimental ones, because as much as I like them.. the theme was a bit too dominant in S5-6.
Third one was just cute, although I'm not usually that interested in the affairs of the Candy Kingdom's citizens.
-
I honestly could not remember Canyon for the life of me.
-
She first showed up in Billy's Bucket List.
-
I liked parts of the Cherry Soda episode. The beginning mostly. The middle and end were kind of eh. Not bad but not interesting.
This one with Canyon was ore enjoyable for me. I think we're going to see KOO go through PBs entire wardrobe by the time the season is done. Also Finn and Jake should have more adventure free time which should take the show farther fro the Candy kingdom so I expect them to come back to a mess of some kind.
-
After 4 episodes, I was starting to get worried about this season, but Football put it back on track. Loved that episode.
-
Did Varmints gave anyone else an Alien vibe?
The big mother that lays eggs from a tail thing, double mouth. The arm movements.Football episode was excellent.
I feel like the beginning of this season is stronger than last one. -
Yeah I was really glad they waited on the Football ep til the end of the week. Easily the best one of the group!
(Cuz of his accent I always thought it was Foopol)
-
Weird. I really liked the first 2 episodes the best of the bunch with Football close behind them. Guess I just like those kind of episodes where I'm either seeing weird stuff, or characters actually doing stuff outside their own homes and somewhere exotic.
But yeah, Jesse mentioned this season is going to have more fun vibes compared to the last 2… which was usually bleak,or mature in tone, and mostly showing Finn and PB's most lowest moments be it depression or just being immature/unfair. There was also this issue among fans that didn't pick up that Finn growing an arm back was really just a red herring(it's confirmed it's not really an arm, but more cursed plant matter.. but I feel like the creators didn't even need to say that considering those hints where already scattered in Season 6).
Looking forward to Stakes.
-
I'm not a huge BMO fan so Football fell a bit flat for me. I'm never sure how much of what he does is real or not real or because he's a computer. Like Finn and Jake just leave it alone but I'm watching the whole episode thinking, this robots got some deep serious issues. I feel that way about BMO most of the time.
-
Its apparently not the first time BMO's gone offf the deep end. Finn and Jake seemed to have dealt with a similar situation before, they even had a whole punishment system set up.
-
I loathe zap branigan/king of ooo type of character, inept mean and in powerful positions. They do way more damage than they receive.

You lothe the character, but appreciate it´s role? Or simply hate everything related to it?
-
I don't care much about its role, when its suffering I'm OK but they generate more pain than they take.
-
What do I know, Stakes actually had an amazing start! I am not that interested in Marceline, so I kinda annoyed by the regular stories being on a hold until Stakes was over, but those first two episodes were great.
-
Geez, it's been a long time since Adventure Time's wrung some sort of emotions out of me. These first two eps are just the precursor, too.
! I'm assuming the vampire juice got loose somehow, which is why we're seeing the return of those major vampires.
! What I'm really anticipating, though, are more glimpses into Marcy's past. Episode 2 gave us a lot of meat, but I'm guessing somewhere further down the line, we'll get a deeper glimpse and I'm hoping it's an emotional gut punch. This is AT's chance to really explore a character arc in a tight story and, based on what these first episodes have shown, I have faith that they can do Marceline justice. I'm also hoping for more songs with R Sugs in the house. -
Wait, these aired already? I thought Stakes didn't start till next Monday?

Yeah… I don't think it did. cough :P I'M DISCREETLY HINTING THAT THERE MIGHT BE PIRATES IN THESE WOODS HERE!!! O_____O
-
Last week's episodes were leaked too, so yeah. I'm gonna just wait.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Well, I just watched the 4 Stakes dumbly thinking that the site where I watch them took time to upload them and that´s why they all showed up at the same time.
Now I feel bad since I try to watch them only after they are shown on CN.Shall we all agree to only discuss them next week?
I have a couple of question :P -
If we spoiler discussions, I see no problem with continuing them, just make a distinction on how much you've watched before hiding the rest of your post in a tag so we can separate who's ahead from the rest.
-
I think I´ll just wait until the end of the week to comment it deeper, but for now 2 questions and 1 observation (Seen till episode 4 - The emperess Eyes):
! 1- Marceline loses all her powers, but supposedly the operation was just supposed to take her vampirism. The powers were obtained throught Soul consumption and not vampirism (even though they were taken from vampires), so why exactly did she lose them?
I guess it can be either a side effect of the operation, like PB mentioned, or the fact that the vampires that she took the souls from got reborn, which I guess would take away the powers because the souls took the powers or something like that.
! 2- Why exactly did those 5 revived?
I mean, the King makes sense since he was the one that transformed her, but the others?
! Also, I like how the King is supposed to be some sort of chimera, since he has talons from an Eagle, Snake arms and the head of a lion, 3 animals associated with the common image of a chimera. -
Wait, these aired already? I thought Stakes didn't start till next Monday?
Apparently Cartoon Network has them up for digital release already but just hasn't made them available for viewing. So somebody is leaking them.
I think that's happened with a lot of their shows over the past month or so.
-
Saw the first 2.
! As good as they are, I cannot wrap my hand around the idea that Marcy ever…. hated being a Vampire. Because she always seemed really chill with it, even with the weaknesses. So... I found her wanting to cure it a bit sudden, and maybe a little forced. Maybe there would be more explained on it later.
! I loved the bits with Marcy's mom, and the underground people. -
Being a vampire became a hindrance in her life, I think.
Before, her friends were ghosts and other nightly creatures, she was a night person herself and having to avoid sunlight was not a thing because her lifestyle didn't even require that.
Befriending Finn and Jake, getting close once again to Bonnibel and the Ice King, becoming a "regular person" changed her lifestyle, though. She is always going out with others and being unable to walk under the sun probably became bothersome.
But yeah, she always seemed to love being a vampire. -
If you've lived as something for hundreds of years virtually unchanged you might be inclined to try something new after awhile. Imagine having your dream job, but for a 1000 years. And like she said she was young when she got turned so she's still technically in that mindset. Like a really old teenager. All it would really take is one really bad vampire day to make such a rash decision for any teen.
-
Suppose that's true. When I think of it, the only true perps that comes with vampirism is longivity/immortality and being weak the the sun. Marcy, like we learned… on the other hand gets most of her other powers through sucking souls, like her dad. So aside from dying, there isn't much of a reason for her to keep being a vampire.. Maybe besides watching over Simon.
-
So, the whole thing is out already. Spoilers from the last Stakes episode inside the tag:
! "Everything stays" lyrics were a huge spoiler of where the plot was leading, I guess. But even if it was intentional, I feel really underwhelmed by all of this leading to pretty much exactly the same place where it all started. Bubblegum is PB again, Marceline is a vampire again… supposedly some small things changed as the music says and that makes the whole difference, but I fail to see how this actually changed the two girls (even though both of them were verbal about it, Marceline now and Bonnibel back on the regular episodes).
! So, yeah, after watching the whole thing I am not sure I like how it all turned out (sure we got a lot of background for Marceline, but it was background related to something that never mattered. We still didn't got anything on her "past that matters" like her friendship with PB).
Oh well, at least we got some Ice King time. And as weak as fart jokes are, I honestly cried from laughing during the "mouth fart" scene
