President Bush assaulted by Iraqi Journalist's shoes (Vid included)

@Yusuke:
at times like this i wish i could make jokes like 4kids..
I guess you can say our President just got booted out of Iraq.
ba-dum-tish
-
I've done nothing but lol this entire thread. but on a serious note…
last time I insulted somebody I dont remember bieng praised for it by my nation... why the heck do ppl praise this guy for intentional harm/slander. Doesnt matter if the victim is good or bad, stupid or smart... doesnt make it right.
eh.. oh well, im probably on my own on this one lol.attempts to find civility but has no luck
-
You really can't see that some might see this as the little guy standing up to the big bad bully America? That some people (oh say the talibans? but also regular Irakies that has become victims in this war) don't like what has been done?
-
provided I believe the home makeover "country edition" was to long of a stay on president bush's part. He's been in there way to long. But I just dont think I could muster up the courage to throw a shoe at somebody who helped remove a tyrant from his seat, no matter how long he overstayed his welcome. (of course all of this wouldnt have happened if george bush senior had just finished the job in persian gulf I )
But thats just my opinion, I recognize that not everybody thinks the same and probably doesnt agree with me or vary's in opinion.
however I do understand what your saying when you imply that its not easy to stand up and rebuke somebody who you loathe and has powerfull forces. I just dont think president bush is evil.
by the way, "shoe bomber" is lucky he wasnt on american soil lol. I cant imagine that the outcome would have been the same

Lol, this typical republican bullshit is funny

sorry for the double post, forgot to address one point I had in mind.
A tyrant was dethroned, and a world wide chase of bin laden was started in retalliation to 9/11. in order to do so a war was started.
wars happen, ppl die, and casualties take place. But since the beggining of modern technology we have come far in trying to reduce those casualties.this url doesnt contain "persian gulf II", but you get the idea
http://www.americanfamilytraditions.com/war_casualties.htmby the way i'm neither liberal or conservative, just a realist. so there is no bias on my part.

Lol, this typical republican bullshit is funny
lawlz, way to prove my point on civility. Your still young though I suppose

Yeah sure no bias.
For the record Saddam Hussein was not related to 9/11 in any way. Yeah people were scared shitless and Bush basically used it as an opportunity to get rid of the thorn in his side known as Saddam. Kinda like beating the crap of some guy who stole your girl because you saw some completely different person steal your bike.
Oh and I'm being perfectly civil. If it's bullshit, it's bullshit. Pure rehearsed republican crap from some ignorant Republican repeating the same garbage he gets from watching TV featuring his idol Bush while sitting comfortably on his sofa never even considering the hardships and terror and pain people nearly half the world away are facing. At least I think about those people even if I can't do shit to help them-_-
-
Damnit Luffy Batter don't you ever learn? dissapointed smily =
-
He's completely right for once.
Tactless, but right.
-
Its not like the guy self-ignited himself, I wouldn't praise a guy who throws shoes as a national hero. Its neither courageous nor is it very effective for whatever cause he had.
-
His cause was to let Bush know just how much he is hated.
The means was to throw his shoes at the man, which is pretty damned up there in terms of insults, regardless of whether they actually hit or not.
He risked the danger of getting super-raped by the Secret Service once the deed was done. I very much doubt anyone here would have the guts to do what he did.
And last I heard, he was getting interrogated by the fucking Iraqi Army, so I'd say it took quite a bit of bravery to do it.
-
hehe luffy batter…you tickle me
getting all riled up sir. just a conversation:). and yes I do have feelings for ppl who die innocently. just b/c my views are different from yours doesnt mean im some heartless bastard. to be honest i'd prefer there be no war at all.and yes, you are right. sadam had NOTHING to do with 9/11. nor did I ever say that. i just chose to use bin laden and sadam in the same sentence.
hehe, my original point, (which has gone way off trail, maybe b/c of me :getlost:) was that no matter what, insulting somebody shouldnt deserver praise.
now I can understand where everybody says that when your standing up against a bully its a different story. I also agree there. where my opinion differs is that bush isnt a bully. thats all.but my point on civility is different mr. luffy batter sir. I just wanted to have a clean conversation in which we could discuss our differences. not through slanderous words at each other. i'm sorry if I may have irritated you or instagated such arguments.
anyways, as i stated in my first post on this thread...i lol'd alot. the only problem I have is somebody getting praise for this. and i suppose thats where i differ from everybody else. in the sense that i see bush as just an average leader when everybody else see's him as a horrible leader( or tyrant/bully)
-
He's completely right for once.
Tactless, but right.
Hey I call it like I see it and believe me despite my choice of words, I never had any intent to insult. Like I said, if it's bullshit, it's bullshit, describing it in a nicer way doesn't change what it is. But I admit, it really ticks me off when we have ignorant people safe and comfy in their own miniature green zones saying all this garbage without even thinking of researching and considering the state of affairs of the people who have to face this nightmare constantly. Honestly
Oh and what do you mean for once?:/
-
Great, this thread was all fun until we had to drag it down the politic route.
Don't misunderstand, I have no problems with discussing politics (since it's something very important) but don't we have a politics thread or something like that to do so? I thought/hoped this thread was made for the lols.
-
(of course all of this wouldnt have happened if george bush senior had just finished the job in persian gulf I )
My bad,
This is the real DURRR the post.
A tyrant was dethroned,
If that's our goal why aren't we getting down to business with half of Africa and North Korea? What about Turkmenistan a few years ago? Hell there's more than that. Saddam was fucking Mr. Rogers next to Kim Jong Il.
Don't for a second pull this bullshit as justification.
and a world wide chase of bin laden was started in retalliation to 9/11.
We're discussing Iraq here, what does this have to do with that.
in order to do so a war was started.
Called Afghanistan.
wars happen, ppl die, and casualties take place.
And uniformed doofs yammer about them.
this url doesnt contain "persian gulf II", but you get the idea
http://www.americanfamilytraditions….casualties.htmDid you seriously link to a site called "americanfamilytraditions" as a citation?
And follow it up with a decleration of unbias? You're dumb.
by the way i'm neither liberal or conservative, just a realist. so there is no bias on my part. __________________

There's no such thing. Also your pretty obviously right-wing if you thought that link was a good source.

ouch I feel the love :P. I just stated my opinion. no need in bashing deer sir. im sorry if you dont agree with it.

I too call stating "facts" opinion.

One of the things I was most excited about after hearing this, was looking forward to Conan O'Brien's take on it in his monologue. He opened with it, and I was not disappointed. Not only was there a simple punch-line, but a physical comedy sketch which continued throughout the entire monologue and some into the actual show. Basically involving Conan constantly dodging shoes, often right after a joke.
I was literally LMFAO.

^
lV9Bn4F6Pt0Even though things has gone from bad to worse in Iraq, in the end of the day getting rid of Saddam Hussein was probably a very good thing. I guess time will tell but there is always something good even in a biggest pile of shit.

I don't get you guys. Why is everyone so hostile towards anyone who may or may not be Republican…? You guys act like anyone who shares an inkling of thought with a Republican is some ignorant retard. Luffy Batter, are you even old enough to join the military? I have three close friends who are all serving active duty; one in Iraq, one in Germany, and one who was injured and came home to serve here. All three feel the same way about Bush: that he could have been or done better, but he isn't the worst person in the world. He just did a poor job and has been in office far too long in an era that exploits everything that can be exploited via the internet and the media. I'm sure there are a million things we never knew about or was never circulated enough from Presidents who held the office prior to Bush. In any case, I don't see the need to "call it how you see it", especially when it is at another posters' expense who was being fairly neutral in his comment. And I seriously would love to know what's always up your ass Deltron. Did you even think when you commented on his post? The link he posted was only meant to serve the purpose of showing that the increase of technology in war has resulted in a decrease in injuries and death. So unless you have an "unbiased" version of that number crunch that really makes a difference, why don't you just keep your mouth shut? I seriously don't get you guys. You claim to be civil or "informed", when all you do is use choice words and phrases like: the real DURRR, bullshit, uniformed doofs, arrogant morons, ignorant people, garbage, pure rehearsed republican crap, typical republican bullshit, etc. I mean do you not see the irony in how arrogant and ignorant you sound saying that? Pfft, half this coming from someone who admits he learned nothing in school and taught himself politics on the internet. Unbiased? Informed?
Look. I could care less about all your political stand-points, ideals, lack-thereof, etcetera. Point is, the guy just wanted to show that we shouldn't commend someone for attacking a world leader, no matter who it is. There are much better and more polite ways to make your point without resorting to threats and violence. At the least, we shouldn't support violence and threats as a means of making a statement. All Dolus did in addition was point out that Bush might not deserve the amount of hate and accusations he deserves. That much was his opinion, which he stated. Just try to be more polite before you go and make your own political party fit it's stereotype even more.
-
Lets simplify things here. Symbolic or not, heroic or not, it was a great end to a murderous and ignorant career.
-
I LOL. Bush was sure unpoular these days. Yet I was the one who voted fo him
-
I love you guys * leans in for a big group hug*
on topic though. I lol'd hardcore at that youtube video yoska.
" bush did something he's never done b4 when the shoe was thrown at him, lean to the left" - jay lennolawlz jay lenno wins in my book after that comment

I never said Saddam being dethroned was a bad thing. Overall it was beneficial to the country. What I don't like is how people shrug of all the deaths to both American troops and Iraqi people as simply collateral damage.
"Sacrifices had to be made for the good of the Iraqi people!!!" and "They died with honor!!!"
Easy to say when it's not your life being sacrificed or someone you care about. And there's never any honor or glory in dying in the battlefield.
-
What I don't like is how people shrug of all the deaths to both American troops and Iraqi people as simply collateral damage.
I agree, but…what does this have to do with your original response to Dolus' post? He said nothing of the sort...
-
Yes he did, I suggest you read it again.
Edit: Here, I'll make it easy on you.

Hold on, let me squirm out of the giant blob-like entity that is your view of everyone else, give me a sec, I'll get to the strawman in a second…
ungh..
unnhh
any second
errgh
I'm really jammed in here tight
nnnnrghh
You guys act like anyone who shares an inkling of thought with a Republican is some ignorant retard. Luffy Batter, are you even old enough to join the military?
What the hell does this have to do with anything.
And I seriously would love to know what's always up your ass Deltron.
Says the guy who vomits blizzards of words to feed a persecution complex on every political thread.
The link he posted was only meant to serve the purpose of showing that the increase of technology in war has resulted in a decrease in injuries and death.
Far be it from me to question the window through which info is being delivered.
Of course if we're going to get into sources his was completely useless given the info he most needed was entirely absent. (on Iraq)
So unless you have an "unbiased" version of that number crunch that really makes a difference, why don't you just keep your mouth shut?
Get out of here if you don't "get" how debate works.
And to clarify there is no "if" about the above.
I seriously don't get you guys.
And I don't get why your magically assuming me and Luffy Batter, who is dumb as dirt might I add, in ways very simaler to you, are somehow two birds of a feather.
You claim to be civil or
When the flying hell did I ever say anything of the sort.
"informed",
And what contradicts this?
when all you do is use choice words and phrases like:
Being mean doesn't contradict being informed.
No matter how many times Greg will go on tantrums about it.I mean do you not see the irony in how arrogant and ignorant you sound saying that?
How is being mean arrogant.
The doofus your defending actually, literally called himself a "realist" as a political stance.I don't give a fuck if your a jack-booted national socialist social darwinist rightist, or a psychotic maoist revolution humping leftist.
Anyone who has the gall to claim they are a realist in reagrds to politics, phrased as opposed to the others is arrogant.Pfft, half this coming from someone who admits he learned nothing in school and taught himself politics on the internet.
Iv'e obviously learned more then you if you think you just made a dent in any argument I have.
You don't really do you? because the irony would be crippling.Unbiased?
This too, this thing where you make up bullshit stances I've never claimed to have. Another problem with your education.
Look. I could care less about all your political stand-points, ideals, lack-thereof, etcetera. Point is, the guy just wanted to show that we shouldn't commend someone for attacking a world leader, no matter who it is.
If I gave a shit I would have replied to that aspect of his posts.
All Dolus did in addition was
Was what I quoted and responded to that your ignoring entirely for some unknown reason probably involving your soapboxing sounding better.
O point out that Bush might not deserve the amount of hate and accusations he deserves. That much was his opinion, which he stated. Just try to be more polite
LA LA LA HE NEVER SAID ANYTHING ELSE, NO SIR LA LA LA
before you go and make your own political party fit it's stereotype even more.
Cool dude, I too end my BE NICE lectures with hateful partisan bullshit.

the funniest way this situation could end would be if Bush pulled a
and had that guy released

Bah, this was a fun little thread until people decided to bring all their political BS into it, now it's ruined like half the videos on Youtube.

Bah, this was a fun little thread until people decided to bring all their political BS into it, now it's ruined like half the videos on Youtube.
lawlz I think this thread is still just as funny with or without the political debates going on. I'm not a fan of bieng in the middle of debates or arguments, but I do enjoy sitting back and let other ppl go at it. It can either be educational or just entertaining lol.
edit: or revealing of somebody's character
-
oh man, thanx for mentioning that, Buuhan!
I've been missing Conan eps lately because I'm actually getting a full night's rest now. -
DAMMIT!! I just wrote a huuuuuge post in response to Deltron and Visual Studio crashed my firefox session!! I managed to recover half of it from a savestate, but it's not the same. I was very polite too. Oh well. Maybe I will try to re-write it again in a bit. I'm irritated now though, not happy-go-lucky, so I might fail at politeness xD
-
I blame Luffy Batter for all of this.

I blame whoever invented the shoe…

This thread is still good.

Haha Hiroy. Nice pic
Another idea is to let the show come out of an oil barrel
