People have been complaining in this thread on how the anime is starting to suck and how the manga is better. Things are turning out as I predicted. Which was an obvious conclusion and entirely foreseeable.

Yeah that part, I'm not liking. Introducing a powerful character like Ebon out of the blue isn't sitting well with me. For one thing, the only way they can beat him is if Shinigami pulls a deus ex machina and saves everyone. Of course, he'd have to somehow leave Shibusen.

I haven't read much of the manga, but who is this Baba yaga anyway? Is it right after the Arachne/Brew Arc? Does it involve the Kishi?

Baba Yaga's Castle is the secret base so to speak where the group known as arachnephobia reside with their leader arachne. It takes place after the "Brew" arc, there's this weird clown arc before that though. Chapter 58 was pretty much bland….i'm starting to get irritated with whoever scanlated this and 57 couldn't put the double pages together.

I'm liking the funky art more and more as I keep reading this series.
People talk about One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, HxH, etc. and all when talking about great or popular series, but I don't think Soul Eater gets nearly enough recognition. Just because it doesn't run in Jump. sigh

i think arachne has something up one of her sleeves
otherwise maka would have gotten the powerup and finished her off already. as it is, maka looks set to finish her off at the begining of the next chapter, and I know that a villian like arachne is the type of villian who only goes down at the end of one.
