Best/worst Anime adaption

In your personal opinion what is the best Anime and worst anime adaption of a manga ?

Best: Death note , this series had a great every thing excellent music , animation,art and it captured the "feel" of the original Death note comic . madhouse did an excellent job.

Worst: Dragonball Z and Naruto Shippuuden , I know you guys are gonna get pissy but the problem with the Dragonball z anime is that it always had piss poor pacing and fights were dragged and now on the matter on Naruto , okay I know that saying its the worst is a tad bit of a overstatement (I originally wanted to put One piece instead ) Naruto Shippuuden"s pacing is awful , I mean inconsistent animation , character designs and a bad soundtrack ruined it for me.

Best:Lucky Star,the anime version is 10 times better than the manga,especialiy because of the animation quality and the anime/manga references.As expected from Kyoto Animation.Too bad it's so short.

Worst:Eyeshield 21,the filler episodes and the animation is crap.And the anime often not showing some scene/points that appear in the manga,for example:When Hiruma make a movie about how coward the NASA Alien coach is,Musashi,Mamori,and Yukimitsu's new haircut,and the match between Shinryuuji Nagas and Oujou White Knights in the Enoshima Football Field.

P.S:In before that Watsuki Fan guy enter this thread to say Rurouni Kenshin or Busou Renkin is the best anime adaptation.

Best: MAR heaven I guess.

Worst: Air Gear. Even if I didn't know it was horribly out of order, the downright horrible pacing would have me drawing conculsions. The animation and the soundtrack (for the english dub at least) is really good though.

What, has no one here seen the Flame of Recca anime and first Negima anime? If those don't qualify for worst, then I don't know what does.

Flame of Recca anime is quite well done for me.But Negima anime sucks!Both the first one and the second one.I really can't stand the talk of Chupacabra in the 2nd Negima anime.

Monster, Hanada Shounen-shi
Both directed by Masayuki Kojima, the only man capable of adapting a manga perfectly (sometimes even making it better).

Worst:
Too much. I guess Eyeshield was pretty awful, yeah.

The manga is just as bad, you know. I can sum up most of the chapters in one or two sentences, like this:
"Chapter 397 - Goku and Cell fight. Everyone is impressed by how strong Goku is."
"Chapter 398 - Goku and Cell increase their power and fight some more."

Anyway, the worst adaptation: Naruto Shippuuden. It's like DBZ, only with really crappy fight-scenes.
No idea what's the best one. Just that I've seen some good adaptions, (One Piece, Haruhi, Death Note…) but I don't know which one I like the most as an adaptation.

How is the OP Anime bad? All the exact same stuff happens that is in the manga. Only thing annoying now is the 3-5min recaps sometimes

Best: (I dont watch a lot of anime) but Dragonball (Never read the manga), One Piece, and Yuyu

The Warship Island (Apis) Arc wasn't in the manga neither were the stories featured in the movies.

True but it can also be recognized as plain filler if there's no way for it to integrate itself into the canonical parts of the story.

(The first six movies could do that).

Personally I think the best is One Piece.
Worst? Ummm, from what I've seen Reborn. I love the manga, but the anime just isn't as good :P

But yeah, I tend to read more than I watch, so I wouldn't be the best judge on quality of adaptions

Hokey wow, I've never seen a single person ever who's claimed to have enjoyed the GONZO-fied Dragonaut anime. You really must read the manga; by hearsay, it's a travesty what GONZO has done with it!

Best: YuYu Hakusho, One Piece, Fullmetal Alchemist (yes the manga is better, but Bones put a lot of effort into the anime), Rurouni Kenshin (only during Kyoto arc), Death Note

Just a tidbit here: GONZO has done nothing to Dragonaut but create it- the manga for this series came after the anime started airing. And yeah, the anime sucks…

On topic:

Best: Hm, hard to think of one, but for now I'm going to go with Detective Conan. It's better than the manga for me, probably because when reading from the book you could sometime skip a crucial part of the mystery, or you might slow down too much trying to notice every little thing. The anime having an actual flow because it's in real time makes the mystery more authentic. And you don't have to worry too much about volumes having cut off cases.

Worst: Nougami Neuro. A great detective series was named above for the best, so I guess it's only fitting that Neuro be named here. Although the manga is actually very awesome and quite near Detective Conan level, the anime is HORRENDOUS! Mixed up cases, bad pacing, and the only saving grace was the awesome Takehito Koyasu as Neuro. I hope if a second season is produced it's actually faithful to the manga.

The anime would be great if they didn't change certain events or add bullshit cases like the Baseball Flag episode.

When I really think about it, the manga always seems to be better in my opinion.

Some anime adaptions seem to be better that others though.

The Good:
FMA, FMP, Excel Saga, Hunter X Hunter, School Rumble. (Decent anime adaptions but still read the manga.)

The Bad:
Gantz, Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto, GTO. (Skip anime and read manga only. You won't get anything out of these.)

I never disliked Enies Lobby in the anime. I guess it's cause I started it really late, and I didn't have to sit through those fillers and crap.

To their credit Naruto & Rurouni Kenshin didn't have to pull major story rewrites unlike FMA though I'm only sure about the latter.

Enies Lobby was actually much better than some people make it seem. There's tons of excellent amvs out there proving that. None of the really important moments disappointed.
Now try to make an amv with cool, well done Shipuuden scenes. Uh-huh.

I hate AMV'S . All it is half the time is some kid decides to use a bunch of anime clips and add some crappy ass music. Which it usually is something by linkinpark.

Worst: would probably be Ruruouni kenshin for creating filler and killing the show to the point that it got cancelled before it could finish. Runner up might be ah my goddess the ova and movie since they completely change the feel of the series.

Best:Probably Beck:Mongolian Chop Squad because it actually improved upon the manga. Too bad it never caught on in Japan. It even had a pretty all star line up of bands supporting it.

There have been some new tracks in the last couple of episodes, so that point isn't really valid any more at this point.

And as a side-comment to Sloggett, the Full Metal Panic-anime was based on the light-novels, so saying "read the manga" would be a bit misleading, as the manga is just an adaptation as well.
