Just finished watching episode 1. My favorite is Luffy to Alvida after she hits him with the Iron Mace. "That won't work" It's the way he says it that makes it so spectacular.

Heh, I saw the 4Kids version of that yesterday. They added a, "When he wakes up someone tell him it was a cap gun." after the bandit fell. I was so impressed thinking they showed someone get shot XD

I distinctly remember them showing Luffy getting shot by Gaimon. Of course, since the bullet just bounced off of him without harming him at all, I'm not sure if that counts…

These pretty much are the early annoucements for August. Since they are mostly likely add more releases in the months. Since remember like last year, the Burst Angel OVA was like a last minute release last November.

I love how Luffy calls Mohji a polar bear in the episode six preview.
My only complaint so far is that Jango is pronounced Jaun-go. Seriously, has Funi never heard of Jango Fett?

It's pronounced "Jaun-go" (may be the wrong wording, but it's the best I can do) in the original Japanese, I know this due to the high amounts of time I've heard the character song "1 2 Jango".

I've watched the Jango's Dance Carnaval short and he says Jain (like pain)-go. So that's how I pronounce it.

I always pronounced it Muh-kee-no as well. The FUNi dub is teaching me that I'm pronouncing a lot of names wrong.

Now if only I knew how to pronounce Higuma's name right, cause I feel I'm saying it wrong. I pronounce it Hi-goo-muh, but it's probably pronounced Hig-uh-ma or Hig-oom-ah.
I also used to pronounce Kuro as Kur-oh and Masira as mah-si-rah.

All right, I'll be going to ACEN this weekend. Funimation is gonna be there so I'm gonna head on over to their booth (?) and ask them some questions. Anyone got any specific (non-retarded) questions you guys want me to ask?
I'm already going to ask about the release schedule/Second Voyage release date. Anything else?

I would say just out of curiosity, if Movie 8 will air on TV here like in Australia and if they have any news on other related One Piece acquisitions (I doubt they could answer either, but it's all I can think of).

I have the DVD, I just haven't left my impressions because they're pretty much like everyone elses'. I will say that it's ridiculous this set is rated TV-14 when "Case Closed" DVDs have been rated TV-PG.

I'm pretty certain "One Piece" the T.V. show uncut will come out in Australia in the near future. Madman had been trying to get it back when 4Kids had the license.

Personally, I wouldn't say that the way the FUNi dub pronounces names is ABSOLUTELY correct. I mean, in the case of the One Piece dub, I haven't really noticed any problems, but I have seen FUNi dubs in which names are pronounced slightly differently than the original Japanese. This is mainly due to some voice actors having trouble pronouncing certain Japanese names, I think.

Personally, I think a better way to ask that would be to ask if the animated logo will be edited on the DVDs, for when we get to the point when Bon Voyage starts. (though that is a very long way away and FUNi is probably not even thinking that far ahead yet) But I do think the status of the opening animated logos is more important to question for the DVD releases than the on-air episodes.

Yeah, I can live with the changed logo if they keep all the effects and all that in the later openings, but if they don't… I'll propably be pretty damn annoyed. (But I'd still buy the sets... They'd have to screw up REALLY bad for me to stop buying the show.)

You do know FUNImation don't publish the games, they only work with the publisher to provide voicing and termonology. It's also very unlikley that we'll get the older games unless somesort of compilation game is made for the Wii/PS3 or something.

Yes many times. At least it's common knowledge on S'dOP, so maybe it's not here so I'll post it. This is directly from Caitlin:
The dub of the song was left off the DVD by mistake! Can you believe that!… but i think FUNimation has plans to put the song on another One Piece DVD as an extra feature.

Could you ask about the reason why FUNimation choose to go with a dub only release for Shin Chan? That's still boggling my mind at this moment, and I think alot of people would like an answer for this as well.

Not OP related but please ask Funi if they nabbed the 2 DVD-only episodes of Gunslinger Girl: IL Teatrino when they licensed the season. The press release only said 13 episodes and I'm kinda nervous about those other two.
