Really liked the first half of this but other half kinda stumbles into some overbearingly awkward woke-ness Lupe-esque type stuff that wasn't really working for him imo. I don't dislike that direction tho, just hope he gets better at effectuating it. Definitely prefer his last joint to this but it's still pretty fucking solid.

The only people who don't respect kanye are either racists or stupid. I was never too much into his music but the song "real friends" really got to me. The production beat is something akin to nujabes or jdilla which I love. Just an all around superb track and the lyrics are definitely relatable. The vibe is definitely nujabes and jdilla esque.
Kanye West was one of the big figures that contributed to making Hip Hop what it is today. The song Gold Diggers was some sort of revolution, and he had a true musical talent, it's a fact. Plus, 'gotta say he had the courage (or was it recklessness ?) to appear on public television to criticize Bush.
So yeah, he was a great artist… but what about the 'man' he is ? Snatching Taylor Swift's award is just one of the many examples of his stupid mentality.
I can respect him as a musician, definitely, but not as a 'man'.

Wow this new dope track from Clams Casino and Lil B is amazing, and the visuals, directed by Lil B, is also really great.

I'm really irked by artists that show a lot of potential but refuse to drop new shit. My favorite rappers, Earl Sweatshirt and Danny Brown literally drop music once in a blue moon. It's annoying.
Then there's this guy who's music I ABSLOUTELY LOVE, but since he doesnt like attention he doesn't drop much music. It's swedish cloud rap, but its actually really good:

So, that new Schoolboy Q Blank Face LP is pretty damn solid. Like 8.5/10 solid. Might be his best shit yet no BS. A lot better than his last album, Oxymoron. I'd suggest buying it honestly, but it's definitely worth a listen. I would think I have decent taste in rap lol, not like it's Faetty Wap or some BS. Politically influenced funk G-Rap IMO. My favorite track is "Neva Change"

Yeah, well it killed him in the end so lesson learned I guess? His death wasn't really talked about much though outside of all the fight club memes. Tbh I never cared much for his songs outside of a couple but he was fun to watch in the battle circuit.. shit, he even shot H during some battles.

I used to follow the grindtime/project blowed stuff back in the day but it got kinda cringey (imo at least) in the last 5 years or so.

….......yeah.......that song is really fucking dark, and honestly not that "great" in a musical sense just due to Eminem's psycho ranting. I forgot all about it. I really like dark rap as much as the next guy, but slitting kids throats and murder-suicide is little much for even me. Seems more like a recorded venting session for Em more than an actual song.

Not the first time I've heard this and it won't be the last. Two of my favorite rappers are Kendrick (especially early) and of course Danny Brown but to the average person they sound weird as fuck, especially the latter. However, heres the kicker about Danny: he has his weird, wacky rap voice and then there's this:

I saw him in Des Moines on Sept. 25th and it was fucking great. I don't think he was that fucked up like his usual performances 'cus I saw him drinking water and on Twitter he said he was eating edible weed (probably cus he was in Iowa) but he was still fucking awesome. You might be lucky too cus if its still the Atrocity Exhibition tour one of his tour-mates got locked up (Maxo Kream) so one would think he'd do more songs and have a longer set because of it to make up time. But hell yeah good for you dude I had a blast when I went.

I haven't listened to Donda yet. I'm sure it's good, but Kanye hasn't had the same sauce since Yeezus imo. TLOP was great, but not definitive like all of the ye albums before even though I like it more than Graduation. I don't think he's capable of making a bad album, but the run from College Dropout - Yeezus was about perfect.
