Dude, holy fuck when Vivi yelled Pell's name as he was lifting the bomb.
^Was it horrible?! ._. Or ear shatteringly emotional?
I'm guessing ear shatteringly emotional from the way you said it though. (which is a good thing)

I'm guessing it was screamed perfectly, wasn't it.

It was a fucking wake-up call. It was long too.
Gah Jealous you guys got to see it Ah well, I can wait. XD
Great to know it was good. =D
And hmm, I have no clue if this was posted here…but if not: http://anime.ign.com/articles/840/840421p1.html
Ign needs to learn how to write articles correctly.
EDIT: Also incase this wasn't posted (again, forgive me if it was). I found this bit interesting.
Cook noted that he believed Viz still had the rights for earlier seasons and that for now Funimation would focus on Seasons 3 and beyond. "We'd like to have as much One Piece as we possibly can," Cook noted. He also mentioned, when asked about television ratings, that the numbers had seen a steady increase since September.

Why is Alabaster still being used? Where the fuck did it come from?
There IGN goes again… stating personal opinions...
(the infamously hated 4Kids episodes, for example)
Not that I care though
Lol, just saw the Alabaster movie yesterday…and it sucks!!! Possibly the worst one-piece movie to date (yes it even beat #7)... I'd rather see movie 4 or 5 be released instead...
Ahhh, screw this person… =P
Why the heck is the publisher for "One Piece" DVD Volume 1 listed as Ventura on IGN?
Spandam - Kent Williams I believe, though I could be wrong on that one.
You know, now that I think about it, I'd prefer Liam O'Brien for Spandam. If we've learned anything from Valkyrie Profile 2, it's that THIS man can pull off one hell of a maniacal cackle.
Re: Bella Hudson
It was ALL directing. I've heard her do roles in other things (namely, Shadow Hearts 3) and she's fit the characters quite well. I would love to see some of her Broadway stuff.

got a link by chance? I'm curious.
Here's Liam doing the laugh:
For Bella, Hilda Valentine:
Of the speakers on the panel, Funimation's Fukunaga was the one whose company is most affected by online distribution of fansubs. He argues that simultaneous Japan and US launches of new series would be the most ideal way to deal with this issue. However, the only way Japanese companies can be forced into accepting this strategy would be via co-production. Aggressively pursuing action against digital fansub distribution groups is the other viable solution to this issue.
That is very interesting, so I expect that the One Piece fansubers will eventually get a Cease & Desist letter.

Hmm, I don't mind. If FUNimation had gotten "One Piece" in the first place I would've never downloaded the fansubs.
Fansubs are what helped SAVE One Piece. If it weren't for them, how many of us would have really known how good One Piece really was? How many of us would have been hoping and praying for someone like Funimation to pick it up and give it a proper dub?
Try as they might, it's hypocritical to deny the power of fansubs, and One Piece is easily the best example. I honestly don't see why anyone who's been supporting OP up till this point WOULDN'T buy the DVD's when they come out. Anyone that doesn't is a part of a small group of people who suck because they never pay for anything ever.
^ Good point man. I mean hell, I even promise myself that once Bleach gets an U.S. release that I would support by buying the dvds, which I'm doing.
And I'll be planning to do the same for One Piece as well. When the Alabasta movie comes out on dvd in Febuary.

The problem I see with buying the DVDs right now is that I wouldn't want it unless they start at episode 1. There is no reason to only own half the series other than to just give Funimation money. As for support, I turn on my TV to give them 1 more rating.
Well they can't start at episode 1 due to licensing and rights holding. So either deal with it, or be stingy over something not currently possible.

Being stingy over something not currently possible is dealing with it.

Yeah, I guess. But look at it this way: They WILL release those episodes eventually, so what's the problem? Seeing how you've propably already seen the episodes once, does really the order you buy them in matter that much? (At least that's what I'm thinking, though I would prefer for them to release them from the beginning too.)

For me, it matters a lot to buy each episode in order. I just fear that Viz will never release the rights to the earlier episodes, and I will get stuck with only having half of the show. (Perhaps Viz will ride Funimation's success and sucker people into buying the 4kids DVDs.)
When Funimation actually does get the rights to the earlier episodes, I'll be the first in line buying the DVDs. People can call it stingy if they want to, I don't care.
I'm curious if Viz only has the rights to DVD releases, and that the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray market is open for having the rights.
Now, I know that not everyone has one of those players and that the cost is expensive, but think about it – how many episodes could fit on one HD-DVD or Blu-Ray disc?
And what about Digital Distribution? I'd gladly pay to have Uncut Funi episodes of One Piece downloaded to my computer. THAT'S probably the best way they could counter Viz's tactics (no doubt they're sitting on the rights until they expire).

Shueisha has the Internet rights to "One Piece", and by Shueisha I don't mean VIZ, but their parent company.
Well, then HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray is our best bet until Shueisha/Viz decides that the early episodes aren't making them any money. Or if they stop being pricks.
If only Funi could buy them out of those episodes.

So you have a Nielsen box?
I just read more of this topic, and noticed you guys are starting to ask some outrageously pointless questions at this stage. Don't wear yourselves thin by pestering those who saw the movie. We'll all know soon enough.
whelp, like I said earlier in the thread, I was gonna givce my teacher one of the movie posters. He didn't want it, so anyone can pm me if they're interested in buying it.

Hopefully one will come free with the movie.
@Lobster:

better fucking not! I had to pay 50 fucking dollars in parking to see this thing and get the poster!:getlost:
They probably will have the poster at future conventions. It was just a free thing they were giving out. Nobody should really pay for it.
I want bonus goodies with my DVD… :x
Maybe they will throw in the Soccer Special as a surprise or something
No shorts. Not even the one that was with movie 8 (but because it wasn't even One Piece nor a show they have the rights to).
Wait…
there was a short with One Piece movie 8?
Meh, the shorts I can take or leave.
Yes, a Dr. Slump short. Which I do want to see.
I hope that the DVD includes extended scenes/deleted scenes, or something…
That would be nice :x
Be a shame if K-F got shut down, they've worked so hard and are probably singlehandedly responsible for most English speakers being a fan of the series.
@EvilGamerX:

Whoa, really? Did they show it at the movie 8 premiere?
EDIT: Nevermind…
To be honest, fansubs should take down what IS licensed. At least what is released and available. If not, they SHOULD be shut down for being disrespectful douches. The fansubs that stop something that is licensed on their own, are ones to applaud.
Yeah, but then you have douches who continue distributing the fansubbed episodes without the fansubbers consent. This is where we run into problems. Fansubbers should just go back to releasing things on VHS.
At least the fansubbers themselves would be respectful.
Kaizoku should probably be shut down and I would not be surprised if it was in the coming months. One Piece fans have won their war, time for the soldiers to pack up and go home.
I wouldn't say they need to for the movies, OVA, eps 1-143, and 207+. But if they did shut down completely, meh.
KF was what got me into the series, but at the time OP wasn't licensed. Then it got licensed by 4Kids and we all know how that went down XD
it would be a shame, but I would neither blame nor hate Funi for doing it.
Oh yeah, you're fine with saying K-F should be shut down cause they're behind. But what about groups like Vegapunk who release brand new episodes? If K-F goes down then all fansubs should, and you can kiss seeing translated new episodes goodbye till years upon years later when FUNi gets to them dubbed.
Dem's the breaks.

Oh no. Wah wah wah. Hear the sarcasm?
Whats the point of K-F going down, you can't stop Pirating, if one goes down 5 more will take its place.
Yeah K-F is in another country so I don't see them being affected much any time soon.

that and they've slowed down so damn much. they barely update.
You mean it's illegal to pirate a show about pirates and thieves? :(
