I'll never understand he Chrono Cross hate…and I haven't even played it yet ^_^;
Honestly I don't care if it's a sequel to Trigger, if I like the gameplay I'll enjoy it if not, then it's just not for me. -
Arcanum, honestly it looked like shit even when it was published and it had full of bugs and animation problems.
90% of its players stopped before playing 15 minutes but holy shit its awesome game, magnificent story, amazing world and very nice combat system and flexible RPG choices.
I mean fantasy game with humans,elfs,dwarfs and orcs based on 1800's industrial revolution with clash of technology and magic. Its damn awesome masterpiece.

Among the fanbase, IV is considered the point where [classic] Mega Man started to go downhill, and reasoning is usually along the lines of "Charge Shot ruined everything!!1!". V and VI are actually considered the "worst" V more so, take that as you will.

The fact that the plot is almost inaccessible without playing the first game or Birth by Sleep may factor into this. The wiki was probably made with this fact in mind.

I like Rockman X5 and X6 too. Stages didn't really bother me that much, outside of the X6 Ice stage @_@

What the fuck, people. Barely anyone hates the games you guys consider to be hated on.
Games that everyone truly hates, try MW2, Halo, Haze, Lair, Too Human, any movie game, some Wii games, any new Sonic game after Heroes/Adventure 2, Shadow the Hedgehog, any Starfox after 64 (well yeah some of those and Sonic have been mentioned), any Donkey Kong after DK64, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, etc. (Actually any Rare game after being bought by MS besides Kameo and Viva Pinata)
There's a lot more, these are just off the top of my head.

lol it really is. I'm actually so optimistic that I tried it again when the "motion pack" or whatever came out. Game still sucked and was filled with bugs.
Also noticed you put MW2. Yeah, it was short, but I really enjoyed the co-op.

If you go to almost any gaming site forum/gaming forum anywhere at all, there WILL be a fair share of hate on the game. Not just on the incredibly short and underwhelming wannabe-epic campaign but also on the broken and cheap MP full of glitchers and hackers.
I remember when I still had the game, everytime I started the game up I had to download a patch almost every single time.

While I admit the constant patching of glitches and bugs is ridiculous it's a pretty stupid reason for anyone to hate on the game for that reason at all aside from the other reasons like being developed by Activision and it being a FPS.

Yeah, I think the problem is that alot of people are mixing up general consensus with the scope of this forum.
A good amount of people around here seem to hate FF XII and XIII for example (Or to a lesser extent, get "wowed" by Greg's oh so hilarious rant-o-rages) but when it comes to critical acclimation then both are really fantastic titles to their own merits.
Lair and Haze are examples of games more fitting in a thread like this.

Huh? I wasn't attacking the people that like those franchises nor the franchises themselves. You got me all wrong, I love Metroid, Mario and Zelda. Super Metroid IMO is one of the best games ever, Metroid Prime 1 and 3 are close (never played 2) I loved Sunshine and I pretty much love every console Zelda (and Minish Cap as well)

X4 was good, but it unfortunately has to share its space with the other mediocre PS1 Megaman X games. Because of that I think everyone just lobs them in together as bad games.

I'm a big fan of X4. I liked some of what X5 was doing (the new armors, the special equippable abilities, etc.) and hated other shit it was doing (countdown clock, getting rid of X's armor if you pick Zero for mission 1). X6 is bad. X7 is worse than bad. X8 was a step in the right direction, but still quite flawed and not in the top tier of X games.
I really want to see X9 happen, but only if it's more of a return to form. Cut down on the racing stages, make it a little more traditional, but make the end bosses hard as FUCK.
