Yeah. They just totally destroyed the ending. But at least they had a scene that implied that Misa commited suicide. That wasn't in the manga. Had to find out in Volume 13 How To Read. I already saw VIZs subs of episodes 26-37 a while back and I've read all of the manga.
@Fire Fist:
Wasn't a bad dub. I had never seen the final episode, wonder why they had him as trying to run instead of asking Ryuuk for help, like he did in the Manga. And Matsuda shot him like 6 tmes, he should've died then and there. He was only shot twice in the manga, right?
Yep. In the manga, he'd only been shot twice. This was to stop him from writing down Near's name in the Death Note. But instead, he was shot all over and Mikami stabbed himself as a distraction to let Light run away. Mikami betrayed Light in the manga and yelled at him. He didn't die untill he'd been in a jail for a couple weeks
There was no Light begging to live, or Ryuk telling him himself that he was going to die. It just happened. The anime just went for an emotional appeal instead. sighs Part 2 is just full of crappy alterations. I'm guessing that they'd already planned 37 episodes before animating and then found themselves cramming in the Near & Mello arc. Still, they didn't have to ruin the ending. We didn't even see the task force after the warehouse incident a year later.
Anyway. Now what I'm looking forward to is the dubbed Directors Cut DVD and the live action movies.
