I know you're trolling, but Goku wouldn't even need to be 12 he would need to be about 16-17.
I was being deadly serious.

What is there to love?
What was not to love? It was like Tokyo Drift without 'Lil Bow Wow.
Can someone please explain to me why the actor who played Spike in Buffy the vampire slayer was cast? as Piccolo? Piccolo doesn't have a fuckin english accent.

Umm, yeah - Let me give it a go -
Firstly James Marsters is American. It's called acting, yeah.
Secondly, your Sarcasm was right, Piccolo doesn't have an English Accent,
Infact, he speaks accentless in the film. James Marsters has an American accent
because he's an AMERICAN. You see where I'm goin' with this yet ?
Little bit Racist, No ?

Im not racist I didn't know James Masters was american. Also I know this has nothing to do with this but someone I know said that they were gonna make movies up to and including the Cell saga and that Dwayne Johnson was gonna play cells final form. Now that's just sad. Chances are they'll try to make a second one and it'll suck so bad they'll give up on the idea and never try to do it again.

I NEED to know if there's any gifs of this yet.

Crack is Whack.
and whoever said that is on the stuff bad.
I loved it.
it sucked ass but i loved it.
If you keep thinking that it has to be like the show then go f* yourself because that would be too difficult.
no seriously, go die now, people who know how film works are talking.
Just enjoy it for every corny second. Its like a cheesy 1980s kung fu movie starring some b actor trying to be the next bruce lee.
sure, they could have done better and more serious adaptation, but that would have sucked even worse, because then it would just be bad, and not corny.
It's uncreative people like you who drag the world down. It's not even pathetic, it's just sad.
The Mafuba Dance is shit compared to the Roshi dance:

Ah, yes. That definitely was epic. I actually found that movie quite good.

^Does not amount to 16 chars.
That whole movie was epic, saw it on The International Channel back in like 2005 or something. Dragonball: The Magic Begins I do believe the title was. It was an unofficial/unauthorized movie based on the first Dragonball animated film from my understanding. I'm shocked they could get away with that kind of copyright infrigement.
OH MY SWEET JESUS!
I just found something much worse than Evolution, my friends. This is truly….
truly...
FUCKING HYSTERICAL! We gotta find this movie!

OMFG !!!!!!!
LOLMANIA -
Puar was a fuckin' Puppet, Oolong wa sPlastic, Roshi was topless, the dragon was doodled & the bad guy was a fuckin' Jedi (Oh Wait, It's the Sith who have the red ones]
But you know what, it's true to the series. Characters looks like how they should, unlike Evolution.
C wha i did thar?
I pulled some twisted ending shit! I'm so deliciously evil. I'm off to have sex with the pillows on my bed, pretending those pillows are myself.
I dunno what's more epic. The smoking Puar plushie, or the mask Oolong.
If my avatar wasn't brand new I'd totally put the smoking Puar as it like someone on a DB forum did. Shame the quality isn't better, you can hardly make out the cigarette.
You guys wanna know the scary part? This film was apparently made in 2002. Tho I'm just hoping I'm reading that wrong. Nope, I'm not.

The film's brought in over 52 million now.
So, it made back it's budget? Whatever happened to the $100+ Million budget? When was it revealed it was only $50 Million?

$100 million was an early figure, and wasn't accurate. The actual budget was either $45 million or $50 million. Sources are conflicted on which one, but either way, the film's now made at least that much.
So it pretty much only made a profit of $2 million.
It's still not completely out of theatres yet, and there's also DVD revenues to take into account later on.
That's if the DVDs sell. We're pretty much in a day and age where piracy's more rampant than it was in the days of where movies sold better on VHS and early DVD.
Doesn't help there's a crap ton of cam-rips of the movie.
Saw the movie.
…
What a piece of shit.
I broke my promise I made to my soul and went to go see this movie and I can safely say now that I'm gay.

Sorry to dredge up everyone's bad memories on the subject, but I'm bumping the thread with some mostly-good news. FOX's bigwigs have learned their lesson with the film's flop, and so DragonBall may be getting a reboot film (series) rather than a sequel to DBE:
After the U.S. producers experienced a major failure with the signing of Dragon Ball: Evolution, we get information from our correspondents in Miami that Dragon Ball will be restarted and not only that, but also confirmed a forthcoming trilogy.
Such confirmation said the spokesman for 20th Century Fox, Abraham Sullivan:
"If we have another movie (Dragon Ball), we are currently discussing the resumption of the trilogy" Sullivan said our correspondent.
"The only problems we have are the scripts are not finished yet and will be reviewed by our executives, as well as walk in the search for a new director to make such delivery" said the spokesman for the Fox
Dragon Ball: Evolution was a big failure in 2009, so we are very slope of the next installment of this famous series.
So if at first you don't succeed, try try again?
Ugh, big mistake Fox. This is not one of those reboot things. This is one of those "drop it and leave it alone" things.
Its 20th Century Fox, they will never learn.
It all depends on the writer and director. DBE's biggest problem was the bad story and dialogue.
Jesus H. Christ, please just let the idea die.
We know nothing about what this reboot will be like, hell, it's not even a sure thing yet. But if it's done right this time around, what's the problem?
I think FOX may have realized that they had a very LARGE potential audience for a DB movie, but that they went about this totally the wrong way and failed to appeal to all but a tiny percentage of it (i.e. the few like me who just kinda rolled with it and enjoyed it for what it was). But if they get a better handle on the property this time, and put together a better story, with a better director, and so forth… We could end up with a really good product.
I know I may be coming across as sickeningly optimistic, as usual. But I'm glad that we're getting another chance for a Dragon Ball movie... a really good one this time, with any luck.

Now you're admitting it's a flop.

Oh I know it's a financial flop. I still liked it as a movie in a "lol that was kinda cool" way, but my opinion doesn't change how successful it wasn't. I'm now more excited at the previously-unlikely chance for a better reboot.

I agree with you on this. This might turn out to be the next Hulk.
I choose to take this as good news. I looked forward to the last one until it became obvious it would be horrible. They may actually make a good movie this time. If they pull the same crap with the reboot as they did last time I just won't see it again. I'd enjoy seeing a good dragon ball movie on the big screen, but if they try and fail yet again I won't lose any sleep over it.
This is definitely better news than the sequel that was supposed to happen.

For crying out loud, not even the producers liked it and you're still insisting it was a good movie?
Anyway, the first step to possibly make this a good movie is to get rid of that hack Justin. The shithead can't act worth a dime.

I saw it and I liked it in a "lol this is so bad" way. The movie met my expectations in badness.

That's what I'm thinking. They don't have much of a chance at making anything good unless they recast a bunch of characters. Not that I ever put any hopes in live action DB, and after all that I'm really past caring.
@Thousand:

Did I say it was a "good movie?" No. I said "I liked it." Big difference. Hopefully, I'll be able to say both about the reboot.

Agreed about the plot, acting, and faithfulness, though that all kinda falls under writing and directing.
But I didn't see any problem with the locations (aside from characters being where they shouldn't… high school), as places like the Dragon Temple, Gohan's house, the futuristic city, the volcano, and so on were pretty badass.
Costuming was hit and miss though. Ones like Bulma's were iffy, while others like Roshi's typical Hawaiian-shirt getup, Piccolo's "badass demon tyrant" armor, and the upgraded Kame school gi for Goku were awesome.
I thought DBE's fights were on the whole pretty good, actually. There were a few that stood out, like Goku vs the bullies and Goku vs Roshi. Goku vs Piccolo at the end would have been the best by far if it was a few minutes longer. 87eleven were one of the few creative parties involved that really knew what they were doing. I hope they get brought back to do the choreography for the reboot.
