Supposedly, it's back in October warp.
Also, looking for volume 24, any help? I gotta read that and I'll officially be caught up.

…I shall say this again.
What's so goddamn bad about the artwork?
The Chimera arc will obviously get animated as soon as the studio gets a word about Togashi's promise to end the arc at least. Also from what I got Togashi worked on the anime along with the manga [he stated many anime events as 'we', apart from the fact he even mentioned them in the manga].
It reminds me a lot of Bleach's panelwork, except Togashi seems to use entire panels for speech. Bleach just uses entire panels for big face closeups.
And like I said before, he doesn't seem to put a big deal of effort into throw away characters, even if they're throw away characters, he could make them look somewhat cool. Lol @ Tonfa's design.
@Lupus:
It seemed like less effort was put into it at times?
I see you people don't really like volume releases.
Seriously stop bitching about it, the volume releases are full of artwork as good/better than GI's start and before.

Again, volume releases. Many of the empty panels are replaced rapidly with the panels that should've been there.
He doesn't put a big deal of effort into throwaway characters..
He needs to?
Because last time I checked most of the people in the OP crowds looked pretty generic, except for square dude or pandaman. Plus, you didn't really see the Chimera arc right? Most if not all of the throwaway characters are amazing.
Nah I'm just judging it on the first arc, and I'll continue to read it because the story is really interesting so far.
I'm just saying a lot of people in the Hunter exam were disgusting looking, like Tonfa.
Hisoka does make up for everything though, such a wonderful character.

I was talking about the Weekly Jump releases, not the volume releases, I dunno if the quality is better or not, not seen the volume chapters.

Wait….its not even the art your complaining about? Its the fact that a character was ugly?
Wtf?
I thought they had bad and very generic character designs… I've said that like 5 times already. I heard people were allowed to have opinions.

That's why I said, stop bitching about it and go get the volume releases.
Thanks for the example Kuro :o I thought of looking one up.
Here's an example:

wow, looks pathetic by comparison.
I don't remember minding much on my first read through.
I finally caught up after marathoning the chapters. I must say, the Chimera Arc of right now, is my next fave arc after the Ryodan. I'd say my fave things were:
-Jairo's flashback
-Knuckle
-The Chimera Ant King
-Killua ripping that one Chimera Ants head off before he noticed
-Ryodan vs Chimera Ants (loved Fetian's Pain Packer)
Seriously, this is a hell of an arc. If it finished as well as it has been so far, it might beat out Ryodan for my favorite. Can't wait to see it animated (if they are going to animate that is).
Yeah, Knuckle is awesome. And FINALLY someone else who likes Feitang's Pain Packer >
uhhg, I hated feitan's hatsu.
So overpowered.
uhhg, I hated feitan's hatsu.
So overpowered.
It's a little overpowered yeah, but take into consideration his mentality. He took damage for so long, only to get angry at the bitch. With a personality like his he could overpower 100% easily, it fits him right in.
Also, think of the potential it has. They said it has more than one variations. He's a transformer, but he materialized that attack. Go imagine what else he could have.
wait, like I said It's been a long time.
What's his ability again? I thought it was just activating the power of the sun and then sleeping it off.(My major complaint was how overpowered it was with seemingly no drawbacks other than fatigue)
don't remember anything about taking pain. I thought he used it because he was pissed.
It's called Pain Packer for a reason. Any pain he took while in battle will be returned in the face of the enemy, which is the most awesome payback ever. This one was using sun for quick kill, but you can only imagine what torture ways he has up his sleeve.
EDIT:
btw, that's Feitang's ren, not hatsu. :p Hatsu is the type and everything, ren is sorta a keyword to all of the person's capabilities using nen he gathered by himself.

Here's what Wikipedia says because I'm too lazy to find the chapter:
Nen Abilities - Pain Packer: Pain Packer allows Feitan to first use his aura to materialize a protective armor. Then, all of the damage that he has received in battle into scorching heat (named "Rising Sun") and is emitted into the air. The emitted nen transforms into a miniature sun that burns the victim to death. Rising Sun has a very large attack radius, and while Feitan is within his armor he will not be harmed by the fire. It is however hinted that Rising Sun is only one of the several variations of Pain Packer.
EDIT: Oops, I was too late.
Yea, that's still a little too overpowered for my tastes. Compared to the restrictions of other really powerful nen abilities, that one seems pretty light.
I think it fits his character at least, seeing as how he is into pain and torture or something.

That's again, only because of his twisted personality. It only makes up that his nen is strong enough to make out such an ability with a restriction as taking pain during battle.
Look, I bet he can't even control it. Maybe another restriction is to have his mental ability to be this and this pissed for example.
I said this before earlier in the thread, but Machi's ability is by far superior than Nef's. As in, healing abilities. That's because Machi is simply better.
Well I mean with the limitations on kurapica's heart chain, and kuroro's ability steal, I still think taking hits is a little to light for fucking melting someone with the sun.
It's like you can't beat him. Unless you kill him with a quick strike, he will fucking melt you. XD

But is it really? I'll say it again. What if he needs to be pissed to do the ability? It's like he has a split personality, damn it.
If he fought Hisoka, Kuroro, whatever, he'd have some goddamn fun there. And until someone loses, unless they pissed him and he stopped having fun, he won't use it. How can it be so overpowered even like that?
That's assuming I'm right though.

Pretty much agree with you, but come on! No love for Morua or
Mr. Octopus?
On a side note, Feitan is by far the blandest of the Ryodan.
I despise the Chimera Arc. It threw all our previous knowledge of the power of the characters out of the window and made some ridiculously overpowered villains. I mean, what the hell is up with the king? And why are we supposed to expect that our ragtag group of heroes will actually be able to win when genuinely powerful Nen users are scared to shit of the ants.
I like the arc because I like a lot of the new characters. Knuckle, Shoot, Morau, Novu, and the Octopus.
Although I didn't like Pockle's death.
(As for Feitan, I always kind of liked him, although he's probably not my favorite member of the group)

Because the ants are STUPID.
And because the King wanna do it with an ugly girl. And don't forget he's still in the development stage, his ability is to receive the abilities of everything he eats.
Perhaps they're overpowered because they're made of every best point of every animal on the territory of a whole fucking island? His body is mainly a body that can survive in any environment no matter what.

The part where he saved Killua had to be one the most awesomley hilarious parts in the series. God, I love that guy.
Feitan is alright in my book. Sure, he doesn't have much of a personality, but it was a pleasure to watch him fight. He's probably my 3rd or 4th fave member. And it was wierd seeing the Ryodan struggle abit, against fodder no less. Nice subplot anyways
And the power tiers of this series did seem a tad out of wack due to this arc, can't quite place my finger on it tho. I'm sure someone else knows what I'm getting at.
Oh, and I like the chameleon too.

I get where you're coming from, but the wonderful fights and characters more than made up for it. Morua's and Killua's fights especially.
EDIT yeah, the chameleon's fucking awesome. Almost forgot about him!
I wonder what Togashi is trying to do with the Ryodan. They started as maniac killing machines (which they kinda still are) but Togashi has been making them extremely likeable, which in a way, makes u want them to beat Kurpika. And nowadays, they don't seem as cutthroat as before (not performing mercy killings on the queens pets).
I haven't the slightest idea what Togashi will do with these guys but I'm anxious to find out.

I sound like a broken record, but I'm pretty much in the same boat as you.
I'm not much of a fan of the ryodan, but a couple of then pique my interest
and I want to see their fate as a whole.
Note to Togashi: more Bonefuru, less Feitan kthx.
I don't think they serve any other purpose than being kurapica's targets and just being other characters at this point.
To be honest, I don't really care about them right now. XP
They really aren't that great or important at this point. So it's kinda useless to be discussing what they are gonna do, since they don't even have a major role in the series at this point.
Did kuroro ever erase the kurapica's nen btw?
and chameleon guy is awesome.

Somewhere in the Chimera arc the first page of a chapter had Kuroro reading manga while Hisoka and that eraser [lol] coming towards him. No word about it since that.
Hisoka vs kuroro should be interesting.
I wonder why he wants to fight him before taking out the 2 others outranking him first,

????
The only thing I can think of with that sentence is the hand wrestling list. But that's not connected to overall strength at all.
Aren't they numbered based on strength?
and Hisoka is #4
That numbering was only about their arm-wrestling power. Hisoka isn't interested in any of them.
EDIT:
Okay, let's put it this way.
He considers [if it's not a fact] that Kuroro is the strongest of the Ryodan.
He considers himself the strongest in the world.
He enjoys [rather, sexually thrilled] fighting strong dudes. The stronger the better.
And that's leaving the fact if he kills Kuroro the whole group will give all their darn might killing him. Like Machi said near the end of GI.
Don't remember the arm wrestling power affecting numbering at all. but since you read the shit like 5 times, I'll take your word for it.
Aye, don't believe my word this much.. I might be wrong. But I'm too lazy to actually search the page right now..
@Rai:

yep, you are wrong. their numbers are only he order in which they joined the genei ryodan or the number of the previous member they killed in order to join it.
the arm wrestling ranks really have no meanings at all.

Oooooh, right right. I remember now. Okay.
But there WAS a list of the arm wrestling ranks, right? >< I know there is.. ugh..

yes, there IS one, but it's only a mean to make a few jokes between genei ryodan members IMO.
the arm wrestling was just to measure their physical strength
which version on lurk are the volume chapters?
