If Sabat was going to do Sanji, I think his relaxed/natural voice like he used for Saiga from SpeedGrapher would be more appropriate. Until Nami walks by, then he can go nuts.

he only played Yamucha, Kami,Both Piccolo's, Grandpa Gohan, Korin, Mr. Popo, Vegeta, Zarbon, Batta, Jheese, Salza (Cooler's Henchman) as well as a bunch of extras….. ok.... maybe he did play a lot...
but they haven't done that since then, He was Only Kuwabara, Raizen, and Extras in YYH as far as I know. And he was only Armstrong in FMA.
Actually, all of the shows he's done that AREN'T Dragonball, he only does one or two roles, mostly just one.

Vic as Usopp? Hmm… despite how much I hated him as Edward Elric, I think his voice might just be right for Usopp. He was way too goofy for Ed IMO, but for Usopp, well, that goofiness is needed. :happy:

I'm sure the entire DBZ cast'll have to gather together soon for recording Tenkaichi Budoukai 3, which means Sean, Kyle and Dameon will all have to go back up to Texas to record their characters. My guess is that Mike or Chris will snag all three of them for doing some little background characters, and maybe in Sean's case doing Helmeppo, since he's only in a few episodes anyhow, and by then they might be ready to do the first 13 episodes for the DVDs. I know at least Kyle and Sean will do minor roles in certain shows while they're back up in Texas, so it's humanly possible, but not 100% likely.
You know all I have to say is that if anyone is going to sound like Goku it damn better be Zoro because Luffy sounding like that just feels weird…
I also hope he doesn't sound like young gohan if you get my drift. Last thing we need is for Luffy to sound like he's got an eternal sore throat.
Too bad Veronica Taylor isn't a part of FUNi she'd make a good Luffy I think. Especially if she used the voice she did for Ash on Luffy.
Also hopefully FUNi starts using the third One Piece opening. I mean heck even Germany did it.

Clarke would make An awesome Smoker or Croc! Croc would sound Cool with Toguro's Voice XP
and Kureha should have Genkai's Voice Actress, but she should cut back a little on the raspiness, which I know she can do because of when She did Young Genkai.
and I don't care what anyone says, if Justin Cook Deepens his Voice a little bit more than Yusuke's Voice, he'd make THE PERFECT Sanji, and I know he can deepend his voice, he's Raditz XP

You haven't given any reason other than that you thought he was miscast for Ed…which is completely irrelevant and has more to do with casting directors (and is also a matter of opinion). :/ I think people get too locked into hearing an actor do other roles...but as an actor, he's supposed to be able to be versatile enough to play a variety of characters. A lot of the time actors get type casted and keep doing similar stuff, not because they can't do anything else but because the directors keep hiring them for similar roles.

The DVD thing was covered in the Anime Boston thread. Basically, if they can get the work done for episodes 144-208 (the season starting from where 4kids left off), they'll go back and dub episodes 1-143 and release those on DVD. Keep in mind that this is a BIG "if".
That's a damn hard thing to carry over in translation. The only way I imagined it'd ever work is if they drew some sort of extremely odd parallel (Calling a monkey "monkey" is like calling a man "manly").

The way I see it; it'll be a running joke between idiot captains(LuffyxMasira). Maybe the audience would get it, maybe not. It's still a decent enough joke to try.

My ideal voice actor would be Spike Spencer, but I hear he's still tied down to ADV. Not to mention he still is involved with the new .//hack series of games and (if what I hear is true) Toei insists on a female VA. The man has so much range though. Imagine the screams and energy he brought to Evangelion and Excel saga transfered to Luffy in One Piece. The screams, oh the screams.

I can't remember if we even ran into that term. But I'm pretty sure it'll be All Blue.
Good that's been changed. 4kids seem to have problems with dreams involving "all" or "slacking off" (Shaman King). Because "great" and "rock star" (which comes from a company which loves yo-yo hip-hop shizal-dizal raps and thinks they're so "cool") are so "awesome".
Also Mato, since you work at Funi, you must see/hear Funi's VAs. So what would think of Vic Mignogna as Usopp/Luffy?
And just out of interest, while things like "gum gum" and "chop chop" fruit are left the same, do you think that future fruits (e.g. noro) will be left as is in the subs (noro noro fruit)

…considering I know about scheduling for recording in general, did possibly you consider that already know that?
Oh and people, several of the VAs you're considering as candidates aren't anywhere NEAR where the show's being done. Having people come down as guest stars is one thing, but I doubt FUNimation is gonna be using anyone from LA or NY unless they feel like throwing them in as a background character if they happen to be down there. Considering how many episodes there are of this show, the most conveniant option is to use people within the area.

I didn't LITERALLY mean that. I meant that the project itself consists of a large ton of actors and that they're all going to end up recording for it eventually.
Also Colleen Clinkenbearg plays Beet. I haven't heard too much of her voice for him specifically, but I've heard her play younger boy characters before and she does a pretty impressive. You can hear a sample of Beet's voice here. It's decent, but I'd rather hear her as a different character.
Speaking of the right voice actors from Full Metal Alchemist…I think the voice of Al would be my choice for Chopper. It has that same partially sad tone to it that really defines Choppers character.

It's been said MANY times already Aaron Dimsuke was 12 when he did that role, for a long series like OP his voice just isn't going to stay the same.

-About Eneru's attacks will there still be the same Mythological references (El Thor, Sango, Hino, Kari, and all the other Thunder God/Creature References). And I know it's not your department, but would this be the kind of thing to be DVD-only like some of the other things you previously mentioned.
(Speaking of which, I know it's not your thing Mato, but I hope Funi's dub can pronounced "Rai-gou" properly unlike 4Kids' "Ruh-GOW")
