Apparently this is being made. My girlfriend went to the school where the first one was filmed and who was there but Jack Black shooting School of Rock 2. She talked to him. She talked to the legend. Im still shaking. If I was there I would have passed out. She doesn't know anything about the movie at all except its being made.
She shook hands with Jack Black. Holy Hell I wish I came with her.

Simple. He goes to another state/school district. The real question is if they're going to find new student stereotypes to play characters. But if it's being filmed at the same school, just sounds like a rehashed version but this time, Jack will win the band contest.
I think I'll wait for it to show up on tv when I'm bored as hell.

Hate to be blatantly negative but it felt like a censored version of Black's otherwise AWESOME schtick most of which depends on satantic referrences, profanity and the grotesque. Take that away and you've got a chubby guy doing stuff that feels more at home in 1989 than in the 2000's.

I don't find him funny anyway. His best film (Tenacious D) was still a letdown and School of Rock was just too full of bubblegum happiness for me.

#1. Guys! I have a good idea… the kids could GROW up into adults (with Jack Black being the same age) then Jack Black and the kids/older ones, could get super powers, and save the Earth!! Then Jack Black falls in love with some alien; and the "old principle" and her catfight over Jack Black, while he battles the evil Neo Natzi with the electric gloves high up in the sky.

My favorite part of School of Rock?
! The fact that not only does Jack Black's band lose, it loses to the band that kicked him out in the first place. Awesome.
I actually thought that School of Rock was a good movie, despite my disliking of Jack Black and Sarah Silverman. Good not great. The sequel should live up to these standards but probably won't.

Hey, I liked school of Rock. I even bought the DVD! Even if Jack Black's sometimes too hyper, the movie was awesome for the rock-music lover on the rise in me, and I truly dig all the instrumental parts in the film…hell, I admit it, I downloaded their final song.
So even if it acting or originality wise isn't groundbreaking, I found it damn entertaining.Still, looking back at the standard of Hollywood secuels to this type of genre, I shan't get my hopes up yet.
