Let´s try to get this back into the topic
BEAMSP-ATTENBOROUGH!
And Gainax has announced a Nia photobook for June
Last one: according to Anime News Network, representatives of Gainax confirmed at FAnimeCon that there´s going to be TWO Gurren-Lagann movies, and that the first one wouldn´t cover the whole story
With a series this short it's clear that from now on it's just going to be merchandise and OVAs and movies from now on so that Gainax can keep milking all the cash they can out of TTGL
More News regarding Gurren Lagaan from the Famine 2008 Con.
I didn't like Fooly Cooly at all, besides some of the action. Is TTGL similar or is it as good as advertised?!

Well it's from the same animation studio. It has its own style but it's somewhat similar to the animation and wackiness of "FLCL" from what little I've seen.

I'm a tad disappointed with the video because the song isn't new, it's from the OST and the lack of voices waste the potential of the AU skit.
I hope we get to see Garlock get some conclusion here, I mean Lord Genome v. Anti-Spiral is going to be great, why not give us prologue lovers a bone Gainax? :(

All the videoclips are with songs from the OST, didn´t you know?
I also missed the voices, or at least subtitles

They all will be. This is well known.
I heard this anime was really great…I'll be really happy if they use the VA's of FLCL for this anime (do they)?
Parallel Works: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LB3GF26Y
@kchi55:
Here ya go, avi DDL, um, Parallel Works is a series of I guess you could call them AMVs by members of the animation staff over at Gainax, its not the movie. They're 3-4 minute clips with each installment featuring a song from the Gurren Lagann soundtrack and original animation. The most recent one for example, had no bearing on the Gurren Lagann story line, taking place in an entirely different continuity of time.
The movie is set for release in September, so you'll have to wait till then at least for camera quality releases.
heres the newest one ~~[<–-having problems? Use veoh link next post down

EDIT: When it comes to episode 6:
Aw… I was hoping Blum wouldn't appear at all.
Ughhhhh.
I don't like the cast. I expected I wouldn't, and it's not as terrible as I feared, but still CALIFORNIA.
I just realized that I still have the Sci-Fi channel in my home.
Might have to check this shit out.
When's it airing again?
I believe I have the Sci-Fi channel.
Steve Blum is playing Leeron! I was hoping for Kamina or Kittan
Sort of feared the worst…well justified I think?
**What…the..fuck...**insert Angry Video Game Nerd Face
Kamina and Kitan sound like the Tenkaichi Budokai annoucer on Dragonball/Z
Yoko and Kitan sisters sound decent
Simon sounds like the jpn version
Mia has kinda the same annoying pitch, so its cool
that being said, for some wierd reason it did sorta sound like Kamina's japanese voice…i will still buy it. Its not that bad. Im all for dubs as long as they sound good and stay true to the original
Sorry to butt in, but you guys DO know that Bandai released the first DVD last week, right? As of now, the DVDs are only going to be released in Japanese with English subs.

You surprised me, I thought you were going to talk about that disgusting Parallel Works 5.
Hmm, I agree with Ty. They still sound alright to me. Kamina's could have been better, but it's still okay.

Yeah, I got it earlier this month. First time I watched past the first two episodes, great stuff. Now I'm debating how I'm gonna watch the rest of the series: on Sci-Fi Channel, the sub-only DVDs, the bilingual DVDs, or a combination of two of the three. It's also gonna show up on Manga Entertainment's download service.
First movie trailer!

A lot of the footage looks like they ripped it straight from the episodes, but there are a few scenes that look movie-quality that I don't remember looking like that, like the Sayune emerging from the water, Viral's Enki charging up, and the Dai-Gurren randomly firing after Simon though Kamina died.
Sayrune out of the water and the Daiganzan blasting were original footage as well; suffice to say, I think Gainax is keeping the good stuff away from prying eyes..
They are probabaly just doing like One Piece and just letting you know there's a movie, and what it's about but not showing you any of the real good stuff until near release.
I think it's gonna be like "Death & Rebirth" and the "Gunbuster" movie, where they just make a basic recap with some new footage thrown in.
Bumping thread: dub's premiering on Sci-Fi on Monday…finally I can see the epicness for myself.
This monday, eh? I'm pretty interested, what time?
It's part of the Sci-Fi Channel Ani-Monday that goes from 11pm-1am. It runs for the first hour, two episodes a week.
I finally found the channel, 46…>.>
Adult Simons voice was actually pretty spot on. Is that Robin from Teen Titans?
I don't agree, I felt the script was poor and the voice actors amateurish. Not to mention the blatant overdub - notice the volume of the music/sound effects suddenly quieted when the voices played.
I'm not disappointed though, because it was exactly what I was expecting. Typical BANG ZOOM trash.
As for your question, no. Scot Menville is too prestigious/expensive an actor for a lowly anime dub, he can get far better paying work than that. I've done the same before though in Kung Fu Panda with Dustin Hoffman and Jim Cummings though. I think Yuri would take your mistake as a compliment. :ninja:
That was pretty much the exact same thing as the Japanese version. I don't know what you're talking about Malintex, I think you're looking to deeply into it. It's not as good as the Japanese version, but them again like anything else if I hadn't seen the Japanese dub previously I'd probably be regarding this more highly. At least watch the whole episode tonight.
What are you talking about with Kung Fu Panda though?

Well, I have a clip here -
for comparison. At the very least, the overdub is noticeable but it's a universal problem for post-production studios, not just BangZoom! Entertainment. It's not as good as the Japanese version, but them again like anything else if I hadn't seen the Japanese dub previously I'd probably be regarding this more highly. I'll have to see it later, since today is a rather unusual day for me so I'm gonna spend most of the few hours left studying for my final exam.
What are you talking about with Kung Fu Panda though?
When I saw Kung Fu Panda, I thought Tai Long and Sifu were both voiced by Jim Cummings, the famous voice actor who has done roles from Razoul in Aladdin to the eponymous Winnie the Pooh.
It turns out both characters were voiced by different people and were "famous" actors, like Dustin Hoffman. Which made me comment at the time, "why cast someone so famous when they have a voice that is so generic".
Yeah, I can't stand how so many animated films these days attach live-action stars to their roles in an attempt to get more adults to see them, that's how I see it. What happened to good 'ol days when you liked the cartoon characters but you didn't know who the hell played them. And yeah, the Japanese clip has better volume, but it's really subtle and not something I'd hold against the English version.

I loved those days, back when Pinkey and the Brain, Freakazoid, Animaniacs and Hysteria! were the lifeblood of Warner cartoons, produced by a famous director in Spielberg and featuring fresh talent who could go all out in their performances and have a LOT of fun. Disney had good stuff back in the day too with Aladdin: The Animated Series, Hercules, The Little Mermaid, Timon & Pumbaa - the cartoons of Cartoon Network in the age of Genndy Tartakovsky, Craig McCraken, Van Partible, Mo Williams, John R. Dilworth, David Feiss. I haven't forgotten those names because all of them made really entertaining, awesome shows.
Part of the reason I've become so big into anime is because American TV really has sucked recently. Cartoon Network is a laughing stock compared to what it once was, Adult Swim is low brow and random while Nickelodeon ADD-ridden. Not to mention repetitive; Avatar was the best show to come out of there in years, at least since Spongebob Squarepants original writing crew left and when The Fairly Oddparents stopped production.
Sometimes I wonder though, were things really good back then, or am I blinded by nostalgia? How would someone now who calls me overly nostalgic, yet never saw those shows, know better?
