Yeah, I have no idea where this series is supposed to go now…
I really hope our old favorites actually do something now that Allen's been forced out.

I sure would like to see Krory be usefull.
I must be one of the remaining few people that actually likes this series an i've always liked Hoshino Katsura's art change over the years, honestly I hated the style she first used.
Now with Apacalyphos declaring allen as a noah, I wonder what his former exorcist comrade's will do now?
Theres at least 2 of us.
It's not that I still don't like the series, but I'm not fond of where it's been going. Hopefully it will get better.
I honestly love the direction it's been going. Now it makes me wonder if Allen will have his own sect that will consist of former exorcists and noahs. Honestly I see Tykki and Road siding with allen later down the line.

Count me too, I've always liked and still like it.
Anyway, here's a spoiler pic from this month's chapter. Just one, but self-explanatory:
!
Uhm seeing I don't know 80% of the cast by now, could you please…...explain ? :ninja:
! Looks like Allen disintegrates or something.
Hey, anything to get the rest of the main cast members back into action. They've been sidelined since forever.
But…..he's the main character.
@No:

Easy
! Allen leaves The Order, but not before saying farewell to Lenalee, who is left heartbroken. After that, the dimensional portal breaks in pieces.
^Well that certainly is interesting. Should I start reading D. Gray man again, I stopped at the part where the Order was being attacked by the Noah, not because it was bad, just because I decided to move on to other series. What I read was rather good, should I resume? And I would like specific reasons, not just "NO it sucks" or "Yeah it's awesome". Somehow I feel like I'm going to get back into it no matter what.
I don't know, the arc that just wrapped up dealing with Kanda's past was very poorly paced and I personally found it to be very incomprehensible. I mean, now that it's done and can be read in one go, it might be more palatable, but the shift to a monthly schedule seemed to add more problems than it solved.
Hello, I used to read D.Gray-man when it was still weekly and I do know it's monthly now, I stopped because I wasn't having so much free time and I felt the quality, both on the art and story were getting worse, I remember the authour had to take some good amount of breaks due to healthy issues.
Could someone tell me if it's doing better now and if I should catch up? If I do so I'll probably reread it enterily, atleast in the beggining I'm sure to have a lot of fun, I really used to love the main cast and some secondaries.
I stopped on the Noah Arc, where they got inside that square thing which I don't remember well, I have read it till the end where Allen comes back to the HQ and there's some new guys there but the manga itself was getting worse even before it.

I've learned that the new art style for people is 50/50 either you'll love it or you'll think it's the worst thing ever. Alot of people want it to go back to it's tim burton look which I did not really like, I like the fact that the author has changed her art style up.

I didn't think Kanda's past was that confusing while I was reading it.

The past itself wasn't too hard to follow, it was just the way that it was presented that got me, and the fact that it took so long didn't really help. Maybe now that I can go through it without breaks it would be easier to follow, but monthly? I could barely keep up.

When reading any series chapter to chapter release it may seem like a long time. That's why I reread stuff an at times what didn't make sense the first intial read usually does the second time…. this has never been the case for bleach.

Here ya go
Levellier gained my respect with this chapter.

But it was precisely that look that gave the series it's tone.
Nowadays, when a chapter doesn't show a bunch of people I have no idea who they are talking about characters who don't do anything, then it's just confusing as all heck.
Interesting.
Seems as if in the Exorcist side some crazy Apoc thing wants to fuse with him, and on the Noah side the Earl wants to kill him for something the 14th did in the past.
What to do, what to do? How about Allen just kills them all? -_-
So who the fuck said Allen was joining the noah, may I know?
Chance for the rest of the series' protagonists to take the spotlight for a bit? : o
Don't mess this up Hoshino.
I still have no idea what exactly is up with that Terminator-priest-demon guy, other than that he's clearly bad news.
And is it just me or do the characters spend far more time bandaged up as of late than without? I mean, the chapter's ending is supposed to be this wrenching emotional moment, but I can't help but feel distracted by how Allen looks like he just got out of a bar fight at the local pub.
Apocryphos is awesome, I like his design when he shows his true form.

You're talking like D.Gray-Man was Bleach or Naruto, and that's not the case.

Have you read D.gray-man since Hoshino came back from Hiatus?
Becuase I have and haven't seen anyone but Allen and Kanda do anything at all but turn up every so many chapters for a panel where they look shocked.
I'm sorry to say, but Hoshino has got Kubo-itis at the moment when it comes to her characters.
yeah the old art was much better and the story made more sense back then too. It must be tough on mangaka i mean even a little change in schedule or their daily lives can drastically effect their manga.
I'm seeing this chapter as a sign that this series is improving from its slump. As for it returning to its former glory…I am still having my doubts.
What the heck just happened…..i mean this is a chapter that looks cleaner then the earlier one so I can follow it pretty nicely, but i still confused.
Did the earl take them or did they disappear by some other way?
Yes, the art is certainly less confusing this time.
Earl? NO.
Allen opened the ark and went his own way.
NEITHER NOAH or ORDER.

thank you cause i was seriously confuse and I had forgotten he could do that. hopefully the next arc will be better than the last
I'm thinking of starting up reading this series again, and maybe re-reading the beginning of the series before I stopped (about when the Noah attacked the Exorcist HQ). Because I remember rather liking it, and I think it deserves another shot.

maybe hoshino just likes drawing her characters bandaged up. I like drawing my characters bandaged up from time to time.

I'm like you, I want to be a mangaka (but I also live in America, so yeah) but I'm like Takagi from Bakuman, I have little to no artistic abilities, but I do consider myself a pretty good writer for my age. I've just never been very good at drawing, and I don't particularly like it, either. I like coming up with the stories but not actually drawing them. I need to find someone else who's good at drawing.
I'm sorry this has nothing to do with D. Gray-man.

haha i'm exactly the same way but reversed, I'm the artist/writer that refuses to work with anyone but will take recommendations to heart. I write 2 series. 1 i draw weekly while the other I draw monthly
Ok this is really sad!!! D Gray Man is a much better series than the likes of Fairy Tail and some other overrated series, yet it is not as popular. I encourage people to catch up on the latest of D Gray Man because the series has become insanely good. So much so that it would be sad not to take notice of this series.

I think it was the hiatus that made it drop a bunch of people, as well as the ending of the Anime.
I still love it though!

I'm planning on catching up on the series by buying the volumes. I haven't even read read much of it, I just really like what I've seen so far. Heard it gets really good.
I'll catch up as soon as Krory or Miranda do something again.
Heck, maybe even if Hoshino remembers they exist, that would be enough.
I first need to understand what is going on to like it.

I wouldnt go that far as to say insanely good but it is indeed far better than Fairy Tail.

I promise that once the Millenium Earl becomes menacing again and stops being the star of a 3rd rate Mexican Porno movie, I'm gonna read everything up to where I picked up again.
Till then…...no.
You guys do know that a new chapter came out right?
Yeah, but we're all busy speculating when/if we'll catch up.
Sweet little chapter.
New chapters up on mangastream.
First time in awhile that I've actually liked a D.Gray-man chapter, beyond a bit of confusion still between who certain Noah were as usual I liked it. Maybe its because its focus was all on the side characters who I've missed seeing for….however long its been since before Kanda's arc which I think was pre-hiatus.
Is this series still shit? Like, fucking ridiculous nonsensical rollercoaster plot with messy difficult to follow artwork?
I think I quit reading when they found the kid with the weird orb/ball thing in his head at the orphanage. And it had already started to get bad at that point.
Just wondering since I use to fucking LOVE this series - I started with it around I think when the anime first started.
The artwork isn't as good as it used to be, but the story's still going in the right direction.

I know what you feel and sadly yes :(
I like the art in this series. But as for plot…I'm so confused. I can't remember all these side characters or who's with what division or just plain can't figure out what's occurring. It jumps around so much.
Yeah I really liked D.Gary-man and I don't get the art complain, one of the reasons I like the series is the art.
Still since, it changed schedule, the series has seriously clusterfucked my mind, I also don't remember this new characters names, the story just sucks right now and I don't get half of the stuff and I agree with the complains of the current art, its messy and sometimes I don't even understand stuff but like I said above I loved the art before this change.
Back then after One Piece this was the series I would be most excited to read a chapter this week, right now I seriously don't give a fuck about it anymore, it just seems wrecked, obviously I will still read it till the end.
