What do you think of the relationship between Brooke and Aokiji? I think may be Brooke is grandfather or something to Aokiji.

Look how they are similar!?

They are both freaking tall

Their Hair may look the same ( still Aokiji is a little shorter )

The way they flirt with Nami

Well, I disagree that they are related, considering one is FUCKING DEAD! But they are quite tall. Although, just because they are tall and have poofy hair does not make them related. Yao Ming and that tall Russian guy (world record winner) are really tall, but they ain't related.

Well, that is why I'm saying Brooke may be Aokiji's grandfather or something. I dont say they are bros.

I think Brooke definately deserves a topic of his own.

In the past, Luffy has never made a mistake when asking someone to join his crew. Generally, his instinct is good enough in that it can pick out the right people. I personally don't see him staying on for longterm with the strawhats, but it would be pretty cool if he did. Thus far in the Grandline, Luffy's permanent crew members have been at least part something. Chopper is a human+reindeer, Franky is a cyborg, and I believe if Brooke were to join, he would be a human who ate the Skeleton fruit.

Do you think Brooke will stay on for good with the strawhats?

Anyway, I think that Brooke might stay. I think he would make crew member #10, so Luffy'd have his desired number of crew members. Plus, everybody loves him so far, so it'd be a shame NOT to have him join. In fact, if there was a popularity survey for OP tomorrow, I bet $50 that Brooke'd be in the top 10, or at least top 15.

I don't see Brooke staying long either. Seems like to much of a helper character to me. And I'm sorry, but Oda's gonna have to do alot better than Brooke after creating the greatness that is Franky. I think Oda will eventually, but I don't think Brooke is that character. I'm leaning 99% toward Brooke not being a permanet member.

Well this is about the 9th brooke thread I've seen , and I'm about fed up with this whole, "well he's obviously goign to be the next crewmember" this is possibly the worst the speculation I've seen since I joined the forum. O-o;

IMO Brooke will crumble to dust, and luffy will be dissapointed for 2 seconds and then we'll be on our way to better things. ofcourse this is only MY opinion.:P But I'm sure soem wouldn't mind. ^^'

I really doubt they're related. Even more than I doubt it, I think it would be a bad idea. >_< I hate it when people make all the characters in their story related; it's like… "insant plot-thickener! Just add family relations!" o_O;; Or... something like that. Oda's too good for that.

It also annoys me how people think Great Britain even exists in the OP world. There are no Germans or British, or Africans. This isn't Earth.

Why in the hell cant you count? It's 7 crew members right now, minus Luffy and the possible Brooke.

Anyway, this is like the ultimate WTF momment in One Piece. The crew suddenly finds a ghost ship with a walking skeleton dude, and Luffy SUDDENLY asks him to join the crew like it's all normal and s***. WTF? Usopp's gonna have one hell of a fit . No guarantee this guy will actually join, not permanently AT LEAST. I can't imagine anything really being the way it seems right now, I'm sure something suprising will happen to make sense of it all. Anybody that thinks this is logical is very scarily like Luffy :sad: .

WTF is you all talkin about? Aokiji isn't black, he's like… Korean with puffy hair. If Aokiji is black, then I'm Elton John (and yes, I'm an African American). The only African American/black I've seen in OP has been Mr. #1 under Crocodile's secret syndicate (whatever they were called).

I agree on Brooke not joining permanently. In fact, I don't even think he'll come close to becoming as personal as Vivi.
If he really was joining, then Oda is really starting to rush things.

Well, I really think we should save our opinions till next chapter, becuase all we have now is a weak "sure" to luffy's question. Could go either way I think.

I hope to god that Brooke joins…he's absolute complete greatness. Although I can see him being a Vivi type member...joining for a short period of time...and then saying like..."Oh I'm sorry, I can't leave the triangle...so you'll have to go on without me..." But that would be sad...I would cry...

Brooke is the Gentleman Skeleton...we can't make him sad or abandon him in the triangle! He must join!

Wow…I must say this is one of the rare times where i have no idea what to make of an event in OP. Brookes would certainly fit character wise but for him to join so quickly...on the other hand robin joined rather abruptly but even that was after meeting her on the alabasta arc. But also having brookes join abruptly might be something oda's up to...

In the end we have to look at the "formula" for a crewmate.

Sad past + flashback + fights beside them in a major battle+ has to fulfill a role on the ship (in this case musician) = crewmate

Well so far only one of them has been fulfilled and the other requirements look like they CAN be broken.
Him being a skeleton probably has him being made fun of and isolated throughout his life)
He can probably fight (hell EVERYONE fights in OP)

But like i said, I have never been so lost before. Whether he joins or is a bad guy in disguise, neither one is out of the picture.

XD Yeah, but it's not totally excessive yet. I think Oda's about reached his limit, though. Besides, it's really interesting when it comes to Luffy. I mean… Jeez, I don't know how to put it. x_X Maybe I should just go to bed now...

Its a manga, we havent seen a slim VERY TALL person with fro' like hair before aokiji...and now we see one, coincidence? I don't know, but I don't think that it is.

N' For all we know about Aokiji being korean or african or of mixed heritage... this is OP, he could be from a place called Pythonland where everyone is like 9 feet tall and got fro' like hair.... and likes to flirt with girls!?!
