Even if Funimation gets it when kids don't like the show, they don't like the show…It's not just because the voises and stuff....I know alot of people that I know don't like One Piece cause of the art style...and while they are ignorant, it's true that alot of kids might think the same..

It doesn't matter what the miners ( ignorant children who's parents let the watch anime) think about a show that is (In America) intended for Teens and older. It sickens me to see 7 year olds mess with things that they don't belong near like anime. I saw some ignorant kid trying to get a FMA figure at Boarders and I was so outraged that my brother and I loudly started talking about Winry and Ed doing "bad things" which of course I made up to get the Ignorant father to make the miner put the figure down…............................and it worked! I know that some anime ( Digimon and Duel Masters, etc are for kids. But alought are not. That's why soccer moms got YYH and Kenshin cancelled, because they stupidly let thier miners watch shows for 13 year olds and up.

One Piece will probably do a little better on Cartoon Network than it does on Fox. Why? Because, look what it's competing against in it's timeslot on Fox, the kiddies favorite, Yu-Gi-Oh. With One Piece airing on a late night timeslot and with nothing else for the kids to watch, One Piece will probably bring in a little more viewers than it does on 4Kids TV, BUT…
....I still think it'll be a flop. Why? Kids these says just aren't into shows like One Piece. They're more into monster shows like Yu-Gi-Oh! or ninja shows like Naruto. Kid's imidiate reaction to One Piece is...

See the difference. Kids just aren't interested in something if it doesn't involve collecting monsters or if it's about something they think is cool, like ninjas. I swear, go up to any kid and ask them what they think is cooler, ninjas or pirates and almost all of them will say ninjas.
Also, kids don't like One Piece due to the haevy amount of poison suction cups and hammer guns. When I was a kid, I sure as hell didn't want to watch a show full of stuff like that. If they were exposed to a less-edited One Piece, they might like it better, but it would still pale in comparison to Naruto amongst them.
IMO, One Piece will flop on Toonami after a few months and 4Kids will give up the lisence. One Piece was just too good for them.

I'm just curious as hell how many edits will be in it. I will not watch it (sadly) if it is the exact same show as the one on Fox. I can suspend my disbelief for some things, but not the fact that pirates shoot each other with cork guns.
But it's not even the edits that bother me so much. It's the fact that 4Kids put NO time or effort into the product or checking for accuracy. It's horrible. When Zoro sees Nami for the first time, he yells, "Nami?!" How the heck did he know her name? They didn't even meet!

I wish Otaku people not push thier beilef about having the anime loved by many, but I do want to see the anime getting respected.
I don't care what are kids going to like One Piece or not, that's thier decision and Otaku can't do anything about that. I perfer to buy uncut and unedit One Piece and I hope with a rigth heart that One Piece get the respect it needs.

Like I said before, most kids are watching to see if their hero, Yugi will be sent to the Shadow Realm at 11 in the morning on Saturdays not some show that involves pirates shooting each other with poison suction cups and cork guns. I think that if the ratings don't go up by the end of Louge Town at the latest, then 4Kids will drop it. If not, well then get ready for a really long and annoying ride.
And can everyone just ignore Viz Hater and his stupid comments. It's obvious he has no clue what he's talking about.

I tried tooning in today because I was actually up early for once on a Saturday. There were two episodes of Sonic X instead of One Piece. Did they bump OP from the schedule this week or just already permanately replaced it with another episode of Sonic X?

And Cartoon Network and Adult Swim split as of the end of March, so they're not the same channel anymore. And, an AS executive said in an interview a few weeks before Naruto was lisenced that AS has no future plans for aquiring the rights to air Naruto.

One question, what makes one think if 4kids drops OP, that someone else will get it ? If it is bad, no one will touch it . People keep saying "DBZ,DBZ !", and that it was bad and got better by Fun., but that is a FIGHTING anime so it had the viewers to begin with . Might as well put my 2 cents in, the U.S. One Piece….IS NOT FOR US .-_- They are not thinking "Hmmm.. what will the late teens and older watcher think of this ?" But in a few years, these kids will grow up and look for other anime that is not edited. But all cartoons and anime are edited nowaday . Tom and Jerry can't show the ones with the black owner that speaks with local color; Bugs Bunny dressed as the black tribe woman with big lips is not shown also . Watching the shout out last Sat., I did not one msg with a "Hey Arlong Park, your One Piece rocks !". That may have lead to some going to AP, then jumping to KF .
