@darkpiece150:
Um sure… While Code Geass is not very popular in the states, it is very popular in Japan. A 2nd season was confirmed long ago before the series even ended. And well.... while I like Gurren... It's not so popular in Japan. I think last I looked it was of only medium popularity.
Geass is much more popular than Gurren-Lagann in both Japan and the US, but the Japanese companies value their American markets far more than their more profitable Japanese ones. Don't ask, I don't know why, it's probably a cultural thing, but elsewise Sunrise would produce more Gundam SEED Destiny, which was highly acclaimed in Japan but tanked badly in America. They're not making any more because Bandai USA doesn't want anymore - they lost a huge amount of capital promoting such a trash series.
If not for YTV, GSD would probably be the first Gundam to be discontinued.
That said, Geass is a very dangerous show, which explains why it hasn't been licensed yet. People are too afraid of a repeat of GSD since Geass shares a lot in common with SEED through the Bandai-Sunrise connection.
Sunrise has been a fail company since BONES was formed anyway. All we need is Studio 7 to break away and all will be right with the world. :|
