Because the DVD discussion is getting clogged up with TV stuff it's slowly going more off topic than it really should. So I'm making a TV discussion so u can rant and rave (or whine) about the TV matters.
Funi TV Discussion (Saturday Night/Sunday Morning 1:00 a.m., USA Toonami)

-
But there are virtually no One Piece TV matters in America. Just a lot whining about CN not showing the dub.

Well then let them keep their whining here, my threads already getting to big from the spam.
-
The main point of concern with OP Funi Dub on TV is that there is none! Cartoon Network refuses to show new episodes and keeps the rights to the airing to themselves. I've sent messages (polite and void of cursing) to them but the only response I get back is a confirmation email saying "We got your message and we appreciate your words"
-
I"m still surprised people are still suggesting it could air on Sci-Fi Channel Ani-Monday. That's a much worse idea than [adult swim].
-
Yeah, people need to keep in mind that most anime blocks in the US are for more adult series.
-
Looking at the Foxtel guide for August and once again there'll apparently be new episodes airing every weekday running from the 1st till the 11th (excluding Weekends)
So seven episodes in total.
Take with grain of salt
-
Yeah. But I don't think that grain of salt should be taken lightly. FUNimation's One Piece is, as far as from my knowledge, a DVD series and nothing more. It will never be a sucsess on television, according to RomanGod.
-
We should have faith, seriously. Who knows? Maybe it'll come back in September?
-
Who knows, maybe they'll air this time.
-
Well, I'd keep expectations very low. Looking through the digital planner it has Codename: Kids Next Door on those dates @ 8:30am, so does the online listings.
Soooo it sounds like another schedule screw up… but you never know.
-
Well, I always try to stay level. I'm totally prepared for a dud and will probably not even remember to check on whether or not it airs.
-
I think it's carry-over from that same schedule screw-up, since August 11 is when the new episodes would have ended if they had started airing when they were supposed to in July.
-
Yeah, was thinking that too.
-
I'm still baffled that professional cable stations make these mistakes.
-
Is foxtel in america or austrailia?

apparently nobody cares about the mistakes anyways plus when are new seasons of shows usually start september or something i heard someone say that…..
-
Yes, quite a lot of anime begins in September it seems. Not only for Toonami but 4kids and Adult Swim as well.
Naruto
Bleach
4Piece
FUNiPiece
Bo-bo-bo
Sonic X
Inuyasha began on August 31st
Second half of Fullmetal Alchemist -
Yeah, but CN flat came out and said "It didn't get the ratings we wanted, so we pulled it." after months of lying and saying "We haven't got anymore episodes." Unless Toei can reach some sort of agreement with CN… I don't think it's getting back on there.
-
Wait, when the hell did this happen i never heard this come out yet!?
Wtf explain man! -

Wtf explain man!It was a while ago. Cartoon Network said that they made a quota for the ratings that they expected of One Piece. They gave it a few months of new UNADVERTISED episodes…surprisingly the ratings fell short and they pulled it.
I would love to hear what kind of ratings they expected from it. I feel as if they expected it o be as big a hit as Naruto which they should know better than. I'd also love to see their excuse for putting Ben 10: Motherfucking Alien Force in it's time slot.
-

Simple they grabbed the closest show they could find.
-
didnt toonami used to be like everyday back when dbz aired and they aired a dbz episode all the time but now CN is just pulling shows out of their asses why cant they take they're time like nick did with avatar

Because they're not Nick also DragonBall Z was pretty popular at the time along with some of their other shows so airing them in a weekly format would've been weak.

If Funi is kinda far in dubbing, like wisky peak or somewear near there, then they might speed the DVD sales and it might help Funi get OP back on CN.

How does the speed at which they produce the episodes cause that to happen.

Im saying the releases might be sped up and it might gather enough money quickly, then maybe CN can actualy PROMOTE OP
-
They can't promote something they won't show.
-
Did they not promote the DVD back in May, though?
-
The series being on Toonami not the DVDS.
-
@Sandai:
The series being on Toonami not the DVDS.
They promoted the DVDs a while back when OP was cancelled.
-
I don't think you understood exactly what I meant.
Here we go again.

I'm pretty sure that was a DVD ad.
-
I'm referring to back when the series was still on Toonami and people kept complaining about CN not running any or enough promos for it, NOT THE DVDS
WHICH WEREN'T OUT THEN. -
I think MD meant OP in general.
-
yea…..................................................................
-
Right now FUNi seems to be in the mid eighties. If they keep up their pace I'd say two hundred episodes might be in the can this time next year. Two hundred episodes might be a enticing offer for CN to air on weekdays.
-
I am REEAAAALLY curious how they are producing the episodes this fast, especially with other series going on. Please, FUNi, throw me a bone here and give me an answer. I just… can't wrap my brain around this God-level work you're doing.
-
Maybe they have godlike-powers. Just a thought
-
Or maybe they just have been working hard for months, think about that one ;)
-
The probably began recording a few months before they announced they had the title.
-
That and they could be recording out of chronological order. It'd be much easier that way considering each actor has different schedules for availability and they record their lines seperately anyways.
-
While yes, they do record out of chronological order, I don't think they'd be jumping from Arlong to Drum. I say they're dubbing the arcs pretty much in order.
-
but that's based on pure guessing and no evidence or even heresay whatsoever.
-
Why would they dub out of order? I mean sure they did 144+ before the first 143, but that was for broadcast purposes. I highly doubt they'd go out of order since it would only be cause for confusion, since voice actors tend to evolve, it would be weird hearing, say, a really strong Vivi in Little Garden proceeded by a much weaker Vivi in Drum.
-
Schedueling, probably. Although I doubt it's too out of order.
-
I wish it just came back…...
Toonami sucks right now..... -
You could just stop watching it I did (but not because of the dub getting yanked).
-
I quit because I mostly only read manga.Anime and Dub I never really cared about.I might occasionly by the DVDs but other then that.
