Well, do we know who he is? I mean the guy from page 16, he talked about Dias and that he was too weak for the new world. He doesn't look like one of the Supernovas to me, except of Dragon but they have different weapons. What do you think?

People are speculating…
A. an Admiral
B. a powerful bounty hunter
C. Rayliegh -
IMO it's the second one - bounty hunter and Zoro will fight him just becouse he's strong

A bounty hunter or a Marine, I guess. I don't think it's a person we've seen before. I think he's strong, but he won't be the biggest enemy player in this arc.
-
I guess he's a bounty hunter, for the wanted posters that he holds. Zoro is known as "The Pirate hunter" (Kaizoku Gari) and maybe the other bounty hunters looks like a betrayal that he became a pirate, and then go after him.
-
He kinda looks like Ki Zaru a bit, but not that much really, his head doesn't really match up. It can't really be Rayleigh I think because I bet he's a bum who's gambling somewhere at a backwater casino…
So he's gotta be a powerful bounty hunter.
We haven't really had a real bounty hunter antagonist (Ass-Face Duval was a kidnapper, and he was more of a joketagonist than anything really) -
I wonder if Marines can collect the bounties when they bring in pirates. It would seem like an added incentive.

I've always wondered how there could be any powerful bounty hunters in One Piece world…
You see, the purpose of being a such is earning money by bringing wanted people to whoever placed a bounty on them... But once you meet someone like Bellamy or any other "overrated" pirate you earn millions of money so you could easily live happily ever after, hell you even get 20 million for foxy... I don't know how much berri are meant to be worth but if one would be strong enough to face the strawhats, for example, he could earn enough money to never need any again within few weeks...
get my point?Besides I also think that guy's a bounty hunter ^^

a) They donate all the money they earn (excluding living expenses) to the orphanage they grew up in.
b) Belly still isn't that much in OP world. We haven't clearly gotten any idea what its worth. The only things I can remeber that they have bought (where we know the price) is 1) the Yagara bull renting in W7. 2) the 200 million Adam wood on the black market which is supposedly "a lot". 3) those bubble vehicles in shabondy.
None of this really have any equal in the real world and we don't know how hard to maintain these things are so we cant accurately apriciate their value.
c) they are really greedy or big spenders.
d) hunting pirates (especially in the big leagues) cost big money
e) they like hunting pirates. Feel good whenever they are doing good deeds but for some reason they did not want to or could not join the ranks of marines.
f) They are out for revenge on the long forgotten nameless pirate that burned down their village. And untill they find him they hunt all the others they come across. -
Well i wouldn't see the point of the bounty system if bounty hunters didn't exist, but i get what you mean. Perhaps there are people with power who are too lazy to actually go out to earn money like a normal farmer, and would take the short cut route of collecting bounties. They gain the adrenaline rush and the "kick" out of fighting for their bounties anyway, for some of them.
I personally like the idea of being a bounty hunter if i were strong enough and if there WERE a market for bounties i.e. pirates everywhere for me to pick on ;p

Or was this a mistake by the translators in this one…?
I'd usually go with 1 Belly = approximately 1 Yen, so not that much.
