Yeah but come on Naruto also gets a lot of the good fan stuff from being popular. Stuff One Piece doesn't get. Sure One Piece has it's share of crappy mary sue and yaoi fanfics ut shit man we're missing out on the best parts of fandom too. The best fan arts and fanfics. Yes we'd still have the shitty parts but at least it would be worth it to have the good points too.
I mean really what good is all the "I'm glad it's not popular" shit when you're missing out on the good things from it being popular? I mean heck outside of fandom there's also the fact that more popularity means more merchandising in the US. I hate that most of the series I like aren't popular in the US. I hate that I can't get the merchandise for those series that Japan can get because they're a hit over there.
So yeah I'm a selfish bastard I guess that's one reason I want One Piece to be popular. I mean if I loved Naruto still half as much or even 1% the way I love One Piece now I'd be shitting bricks at all the great merchandising it gets and crap.
I'd just like to see One Piece, Hunter x Hunter, heck even Higurashi get the same breaks Naruto is getting right now. Sadly it'll never happen though. So really in my mind we're missing out on a great deal of good things we could be getting if One Piece was more popular in the US.
But hey what do I know? I probably just came off as an idiot and what I said will be taken as bashing or something.

Here is the translated spoiler:
Senju clan and Uchiha clan were rivals.
Madara got MS from his brother because his brother offered.
Madara and Shodai agree to a ceasefire.
Senju clan made Uchiha clan price to control them.
and…Madara and Shodai fought for the position of Hokage.
Madara did it for the sake of the clan, but even Uchiha members didn't support him. Madara left the village, revenge on village and got defeated by Senju Hashirama. Every one thought Madara was dead at that time.
Uchiha became like a dog of Senju clan.
And finally wiped out by the incident of nine-tail.Danzou and the two elders thought Uchihas did it.
But actually Uchihas didn't do it.
Uchihas under scrutiny by ANBU got isolated.
Uchihas planed to take over village to change this situation.
Itachi stopped this plan.
Itachi's hell started from this time.second edit: Another summary of the same spoiler but a lil more clear.
Oooh! More precision on the spoiler: from the tones of it, Madara's younger brother offered his eyes of his own will. As a result, when a truce was proposed between Senju and Uchiha, Madara was the only one to refuse, because he was driven crazy by the idea that his brother sacrificed his eye for nothing (lol, angst and revenge, basically). However, his entire clan wanted the truce.
As said, the Fire Country and Konoha chose Hashirama as leader. Madara couldn't stand it, so indeed, confronted Hashirama. He lost. Uchiha got reduced over time to Senju's dog. XD
Uchiha was being isolated. It was planning a coup d'etat! And Itachi was the one to stop it all.

From what I remember watching last night, it looked like the first part of Lee's fight was a clone of his fight with Gaara…then the villain turned into some weird "Mizuki the Tiger"/Kidomaru fusion and Lee fused his fifth gate and drunk forms. (though somehow I actually expected him to do "Asa Kujaku" from how the setup was) The animation was great but the fight could have been better.
Y'know, Negima WAS awesome…

Well, full chapter's out. It's nothing we shouldn't have guessed:
! 1. Madara was responsible for the original Kyuubi attack. It failed and Madara was supposedly killed by Shodaime.
! 2. Uchihas were discriminated against by the Senju and forced to live in their own section of the city. ANBU was formed to keep an eye on them. (Anyone else think that the U in ANBU stands for Uchiha?)
! 3. Kyuubi attacked the village again 16 years ago. Naturally, Uchihas were blamed.
! 4. Eventually, a Coup d'etat was planned. Itachi was a spy for this Coup d'etat.
! 5. Next week, we get the rest of the story. Probably how Itachi changed his mind and decided to stop the Uchiha… by slaughtering them. Or captured by Danzo and brainwashed... or something else equally dumb. -
You know, when something is good, it doesn't hurt to actually admit it instead of looking forward to it being bad or 'dumb.'
Anyway, great chapter with lots of revelations. And whether anyone admits it or not, Kishimoto keeps you guessing.

In the first episode I saw where Sasuke mentioned his brother was a murderous bastard he wanted to take revenge on, I called that his brother was actually only doing it to protect him and the world, working for a far greater good. I guessed once and guessed right. Lame plot "twist".
Kishimoto should stick to what he does best, making MF'n kick-ass villains with short and sweet histories that make for fun battles instead of this faux convoluted bullshit.
It's not the rabid OP fan in me speaking when I say it's one of the least original stories I've ever read that has lost track of its hero, its purpose about being a goddamn ninjas. And the author has even admitted to being guilty to the latter of those.
Violent rant makes me seem like a dick and a h8r. I'm not, I want the series to kick butt since he rules at making villains but is terrible at just about everything else.

Some people made the guess that Itachi was actually a good guy. But still, Kishimoto was successful in making it look like Itachi was a belivable villain. Even people that originally believed Itachi to be good changed their minds. For that, I give him credit. Kishimoto has his faults, but I give credit where I feel credit is due. He makes some lousy decisions, but he keeps me interested, and that is what matters.

Itachi himself is a cliched archtype but its how its done that makes you interested. Somehow though it does show that there are some differences in stories, particualrly with how Madara suddenly says "The Kyuubi is a natural disaster" and yet he uses him against Hashirama & then "all of a sudden" doesn't use him against Minato. Somehow if we could get the doubt cleared about the second attack, then we would know which side was lying.
Next week will probably reveal the Itachi part of the massacre…take at disgression since it is Madara himself revealing it.

Sadly, I agree with this. Although, even some of the fights are full of plotholes. Look at the Kakuzu fight. Cool villain, dissapointing fight.

Actually, this one had more plotholes in it.
Shikamaru could barely move Hidan a few feet in their earlier fight, then suddenly he can make Hidan attack his own partner and run through the woods without a problem.

Well, you're right.
I just thought the overall fight was kinda lackluster though. It was mostly Kakuzu trying to dodge Naruto's attacks, and then finally getting hit. I thought the fight was good up until Naruto showed up actually. That last hit just seemed kinda cheap, givin the fight.
I would've been okay with it otherwise.

Well, I finally read something in the manga Sauke this week, the two page spread was pretty good seeing how we haven't had art like that in Naruto in a good while, but if this is suppose to be a big twist, it's only ok so far!
Also, are we ever gonna get back to the Suigetsu and Judo vs. Kisame
and whoever (forgot the other guy name) fight sometime soon! -

But we want series to be good and , Greg even said that he wanted this series to kick ass but the the thing is that kishi is focusing too much on Sasuke and his character is actually overshadowing the main character. Personally, I think the only problem I see is Naruto's lack of development . Look at me, I hated first part of Thriller Bark but loved the last part . I also think your criticism for the current arc of One Piece is little off as it has just begun and is just a mini arc and plus One Piece is not just about action its about adventure and it provides creative concepts as well . Besides, every anime and manga has flaws .
