I'll keep taking a look at this game until something comes up that turns me off completely from it. That hasn't happened yet, luckily.
Fortunately, the Sonic IP is filled with rich characters and is an excellent series to expand the storyline.

Well it could also be that the people who dislike Silver and Shadow are in the minority of Sonic fans.
I like Shadow (don't like how he's being whored out worse than Final Fantasy VII, though.) Silver is just a painful reminder of the worst thing to happen to the series so far. I'd prefer if it were Shadow. Heck, Jet the Hawk would be preferable.

It's not just the game. It's him. He's SO annoying. Not only that but his over all character and design is as poorly thought out and rushed as the game he debuted in.
I'm not fond of Shadow anymore either. He just has no purpose after Sonic Adventure 2. It's like taking another opposite like character and making them allies. It defeats the entire purpose of them even existing.

I dunno, besides the copy hogs I like alot of the other character designs. Sonic Riders was a lame game, but really enjoyed the Babylon Rouges.

I just didn't like Jet. He was basically just a mean Sonic and his voice was like a drunken parrot going through puberty…

He was a rival who was a regular guy and simply wanted money. He didn't have any depressing back story or anything.

I thought Jet was quite a bit better than some of Sega's other recent attempts at new characters.
Johnny and Whiskers were great too, but I kind of doubt they'll ever show up much in the main games.

I'm interested in playing this, but I got to wonder why they chose turn-based. It would be okay if it had Shadow Hearts or Final Fantasy 10 style of turn-based, but there's implications (from the description/features of the game and Wiki) that it's Dragon Warrior turn-based (i.e. rounds)… That doesn't feel very Sonicky. They should have done it the Tales Of series way, IMO.

My guess is that it's going to be turn-based like one of the Mario RPGs - timed hits and timed dodges. They could probably pull off some neat stuff with Sonic characters in that kind of system.

Combat is turn-based and shares similarities with the Mario and Luigi RPGs. Each round begins with a dry menu section, but attacks are augmented with mini-games and tests.
This game appears to be shaping up as not half bad.

Shadow and Riders I didn't hate too much.
Riders was a decent game which would have been better with a different cast and no Jason Griffiths.
I only disliked Shadow because the controls were a bit buggy and the swearing was really OoC. It's kind of ironic that the only game to have swearing is the first to use the 4Kids VA's, though, isn't it?

I liked his voice on Sonic when it was the TV show. But that show put a somewhat diffrent personality on Sonic then Sonic Adventure - Present games with dialog. I guess it would work if the games were more like the old TV series The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog which would be pretty awesome.
