This latest chapter was just too funny since you see Sasuke doing all these things to Itachi; then you have Zetsu popping up and "haha they haven't evne moved" which just makes this ridiculously sad. I know there's been genjutsu used in fight before, but making this whole encounter so far one big genjutsu just sucks. Zetsu gets around fast though, wasn't he in the Hidden Whirlpool not tool long ago?
Gohn and me are obviously brothers because we often bicker online.

So you're trying to argue against our assessment that the feelings they have for eachother don't make any sense by basically saying "THEY HAVE FEELINGS FOR EACH OTHER"
This is compelling.
I guess you missed my first post about this topic.
I thought it was pretty obvious that Sasuke and Naruto were best friends. Sasuke was willing to die for him 3 times before that. During the Haku fight, during the itachi fight and during the Gaara fight, he even called Naruto and Sakura his precious comrades or something along those lines.
Sasuke is a loner but he had strong bonds with Naruto. I thought that was pretty clear throughout the manga. Me and my sister fight, argued and teased each other alot growing up. I would kill for her and I would die for her. I dont get the little boy mentalitly people show here that you cant argue or fight with someone you care deeply for. Hell, that is what siblings do alot when they are younger. And Sasuke and Naruto were pre-teens for Christ sakes.
They been through alot with each other, they obviously bounded and I dont see anybody else who was more friends to each other in this manga then those 2. They just had a different relationship then say Chouji and Shikamaru.
Gohn and me are obviously brothers because we often bicker online.
Yeah and that comment was for people who were saying they werent close because they bickered alot. Don't be shitty for no reason, I wasnt just saying this stuff randomly.
I was arguing people opinions, cause it is in fact a matter of opinion. I gave examples of a prior relationship, yes it was in part 1. But the argument was about the end of part 1 and about how it wasnt realistic that Naruto and Sasuke were best friends.

did you keep the k.rool vibrator i made for u?

Ok… you know how the new fan art ending? Well, it's aired twice, and it's with the same fan art. Why don't they change it everytime like they did with the One Piece Adventure World ending song?
@supaluigi:Ku Ku Ku~
Fu Fu Fu~

My guess is that they only wanted to use the best. Like with the One Piece ending there was a lot of shitty fan art in there.

This topic isn't as good as part 1.

Oh that…well let's just keep that business personal k?

The Haku fight I'll give you. During that whole arc I admit there did seem to be showings of friendly rivalry between them; it's one of the reasons its touted as the best arc in Naruto. However, after that there was basically nothing.
The Itachi fight? Come on, do you really think the reason Sasuke was so desperate to find Naruto was to save him? He wanted to fight Itachi, that much was obvious especially when he finally finds them and blindly attacks his brother. I don't really see a willingness to die for Naruto; for his revenge yes but not for friends.
The Gaara arc, places focus on his thirst for vengeance, seeing Gaara as a pillar to surpass rather than a threat to his friends. When Naruto finally shows up I can't remember that strikes me as giving a damn. He may have shouted his name a few times in panic, but he seemed more amazed by Naruto's feats than worried about him. And as for calling people his precious comrades, I'll get to that point in a second.
Sasuke is a loner but he had strong bonds with Naruto. I thought that was pretty clear throughout the manga. Me and my sister fight, argued and teased each other alot growing up. I would kill for her and I would die for her.
Those strong bonds you speak of didn't stop him from forsaking his village and the people who cared about him for petty revenge. And besides bickering and being rivals, there really wasn't anything to indicate anything even close to friendship. Sasuke may have SAID things, but there were no events or actions that come to mind that really showed they had that strong of a bond. For having such strong bonds Sasuke sure did belittle Naruto a lot. Sasuke saying Naruto and Sakura are precious comrades one second and then forsaking them the next really shows how strong those bonds were.
And as for the brother sister thing, there's a limit to how much of that can be family teasing and fighting. There's a difference between brothers who fight and brothers who are constantly at each other's throats. The latter is not an act of love.
I dont get the little boy mentalitly people show here that you cant argue or fight with someone you care deeply for. Hell, that is what siblings do alot when they are younger. And Sasuke and Naruto were pre-teens for Christ sakes.
Let's look at Naruto's other relationship here. He touted Iruka as a father, and I can see that. Afterall, Iruka was nice to Naruto, took him out for ramen and acted the part basically.
Now look at Naruto's relationship with Sasuke. Sasuke continually belittled him, fought with him constantly, and disregarded him completely at times. If we're going to compare this to family, Sasuke is that older, asshole brother nobody in the family likes, but everyone tolerates for some reason.
Naruto's relationship with Sasuke reminds me more of the nice hot chick who stays with a guy who treats her like shit constantly, yet she insists he loves her. That sums up Naruto's relationship with Sasuke perfectly, nothing brotherly about it.
And as for them being young, younger people in Shounen manga have had to deal with lots more shit than Naruto, but still manage to man up in the end. Something that seems to elude Naruto at every turn.
They been through alot with each other, they obviously bounded and I dont see anybody else who was more friends to each other in this manga then those 2. They just had a different relationship then say Chouji and Shikamaru.
They had a rivalry, so I guess that's correct. The only reason Naruto thought Sasuke was like a brother was due him being lonely and needy. The only reaons Sasuke said Naruto was his friend was because there was no one else to fill the role. The bonds that Kishimoto wants the reader to believe are there simply do not exist.

It didnt just go one way. Naruto had his fair share of going at it with Sasuke. It wasnt all one-sided. It was more back and forth than anything.
Naruto at first was jealous of Sasuke and near the end it was Sasuke who became jealous of Naruto.Hell, Sasuke first moments with Naruto. It was Naruto getting in his face trying to show him up. And then we got the famous kiss. And after that it was Naruto who ambushed Sasuke and tied him up. You paint the picture as Sasuke just picking with naruto when it was equal on both ways.

Yeah, he wanted revenge but his thought also was Naruto would be killed and he was worried. This is shown when he was talking to himself while running towards the area.

You forget the part when Naruto came where he said he would rather die than see his love ones die in front of him again. He was referring to Naruto and Sakura.

Yeah, he is/was lonely and needy. This was explained in the valley of the end fight, Sasuke was one of his first real bonds. Sasuke showed emotion to that comment but still thought it was better to cut off his bonds himself then being hurt by them later.
It is kind of like a person who has been hurt in the past in a relationship and tries to stop themself from being in that position again. Girls and Guys do it. It is a defense mechanism. They become cold and try their hardest to shut certain emotions out. That is pretty much what Sasuke was doing since his family were killed. He would rather be alone then have to possibly experience that "hurt" feeling again.
Hmm, I am getting off topic.

The way the relationship has evolved now is exactly how I stated it though. Sure there was give and take there when Naruto actually seemed to have balls, but as soon as Sasuke left all that went out the window. That huge shift in his personality just baffled me as Naruto, even when he was kicking the crap out of Sasuke, seemed mentally submissive and clingy that whole fight.
Yeah, he wanted revenge but his thought also was Naruto would be killed and he was worried. This is shown when he was talking to himself while running towards the area.
What was the first thing he did when he showed up though? That's what takes precedent in his mind. The problem Kishimoto here is that his characters seem to say one thing and do something completely different. While there may be feelings in their words, it doesn't reciprocate in their actions.
You forget the part when Naruto came where he said he would rather die than see his love ones die in front of him again. He was referring to Naruto and Sakura.
And yet he abandoned them, even attacked them later on. Once again, actions contradicting words. How can a reader believe they care for one another when they do the exact opposite?

You're contradicting yourself in these points though. First you state that the feelings Naruto had for Sasuke were reciprocated, but then Sasuke is cold and does not wish to form bonds. The latter makes sense, and reaffirms my statement that Sasuke is an antisocial asshole, whatever the reasons for that maybe. This only proves the point though that there was no brotherhood between the two.
Kishimoto, in the end, did a really piss-poor job of proving brotherhood between his two main characters, thus the valley fight doesn't have the impact its intended to.

It is not a full contradiction, I think both points are valid. He tried to be cold and a loner, but Naruto bursted through his cold surface. He thought this was making him weak and lose focus of his goal, so he left and went cold turkey from Naruto and Konoha.

Hey, I am not saying he did a good job or anything. He could of did alot of things better, but I wouldnt say their relationship was unbelievable.

I agree. No argurment from me there.
And yet he abandoned them, even attacked them later on. Once again, actions contradicting words. How can a reader believe they care for one another when they do the exact opposite?
Yeah, he was selfish. Selfish people hurt people they care about.

Shikamaru + Choji= a brotherly relationship
Naruto + Sausuke= rivals
Too be honest, I don't see the brother thing.
-
Even Naruto and Gaara is a more believable friendship IMO.
-
Yeah considering they really had no contact to make as think so since the Zabuza Arc
-
WHat about when they smiled at eachother as kids guys?
I think that's evidence of a deep bond right there
-
Even Naruto and Gaara is a more believable friendship IMO.
I kinda always thought the friendship between Gaara and Naruto was pretty cool, despite their somewhat limited interaction. Woulda been pretty cool for Gaara to replace Sasuke on Team 7.

I always thought that Shikamaru & Choji were just plain friends not with that brotherly overtone in their relationship.

Make sure you put that in the report, Murder she wrote!
This had me rolling.

Especially funny as it's exactly doing that which has gotten him possibly banned twice.

My @#$ is still the same. I pwned AP, all of your testicales COMBINED couldn't beat me.

For all your fail Lobster, you are nowhere near the Phenom Brigade, and quite frankly I think your playing with fire.
Like a 14 year old hot topic kid saying how they admire how cool a serial killer is, but if they met in real life that kid would be terrified and wetting themselves.
Stay away from those people Lobster, your just too innocent and impressionable.

my testicles can turn into a megazord
i doubt he could beat a megazord, guys -

Reminds me how people who treat serial killers as rock stars are really a pain in the ass.

Hahahahaa, did he?
I don't think it's possible for him to do that. He joins AP with a dupe and calls that "pwning AP's @#$".

Yeah, making dupes is serious business.

It isn't called brains if you waste a ton of dupe accounts before you make the connection.
On topic:
I'd like it if it turns out Naruto is just trying so unbelievably hard to impress his girl. Also Zutara is canon!!!
edit: MUAHAHAHA!!!

Why is Zutara on Urban Dictionary?
That's insane
that's madness
wai don't I see Azulang there
EDIT: Holy crap o_o nvm, it is…
Naruto is just trying so unbelievably hard to impress his girl

Sasuke?.. (sorry, but seriously, who else does he actually try to impress? -_0;)

Sasuke?
(sorry, but seriously, who else does he actually try to impress?Remember the promise of a lifetime he made to Sakura? He was even using the nice-guy pose^^

I have a hard time deciding which one is shittier, Naruto/Sakura or Naruto/Hinata.
Two of the worst couples in fiction.
-
Fighting, fighting, crying, fighting, fighting, hoshi-! Orochimaru in the shower, fighting, and more crying.
Aaaaaaaaaand, that's it for now. Finally finished Part 1. I'm an absolute pansy, so I have to admit that at least 3 or so of the chapters practically had me bawling my eyes out, especially right towards the end. 60 chapters in two days is a bit too much for me… Think I'm gonna have to put off starting Part 2 until tomorrow.
Speaking of which, I've seen quite a bit of disappointment from people as the series goes on. However, is the beginning of Part 2 still quite good, or do things start going downhill right off the bat?

Part 2 is good for the first couple of volumes. Most people cite the Sasori fight as the point where it begins its descent. Though I personally liked it.
-
Are we talking Sasori vs. Kankuro? Or did he fight someone else somewhere? Anywho, I saw that particular fight on YouTube, simply because Kankuro's one of my favorite characters, and it was pretty good.
Up until it was all, "Yaha! I made your puppets! Behold, inconvenient coincidences." As long as there aren't too many of those running around, I'll probably be pretty happy.
-
Nah, not the Kankurou fight.
I also like the said fight though, it was probably one of my favorite fights in the entire series.
Part two is meh, couple parts are cool, couple parts are just…. there..., and then there's the parts that make you laugh because it's so bad.
-

I actually thought it was quite awesome that at the same time we learned about Sasori's fightin style it turned out that Kankuro had to go up against the master of his trade.
He never had a chance of defeating an akatsuki anyway so i don't mind the "inconvenient coincidence".

Yeah, I guess it was kinda cool. The odds of Kankuro just HAPPENING to go up against such a guy were just a taaaaad too much for me. But meh, there have been times when I thought such coincidences were cool. I just need to tone down on my upset fangirling and I'll be fine…
Anywho, I lied. I went ahead and started Part 2, and I REALLY like it so far. Bells. Goddamn bells. I found it extremely cool how they were kicking it retro style and bringing the story around way back to its roots. And Kazekage, WTF. Go Gaara.
-
I started reading Naruto after i saw a picture of Part II Gaara. I thought it was awesome that a cute little girl was the chief.
I learned my lesson about ambiguous sexuality the hard way.
edit: ok, i admit there are harder ways to learn it than reading a manga :D
-
:D Poor Gaara… I learned my lesson after watching about 3 episodes of Inuyasha. Honestly, that show... I think it's enough to cure anyone of quick judgement.
-
Elric, what a wonderful sig you have.

I guess since mangafan is not around, I have to step up my duties.

except for the fact that he threw all that stuff away in like 30secs of remembering what his brother said in the past during the VoTE fight
