zerocustom, have you received your production art yet? Mine arrived a few minutes ago, and I have to say I am thrilled with it! I don't think you have to worry about the authenticity of your sheets. The folks that sold them have been in this business for many years, and when I talked to the woman via email she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
It was like Christmas came two weeks early at my house - my Franky and Ace POPs also arrived first thing this morning.

The reason i doubt the authenticity is because they're too good for a show that doesn't use cels. They'll still look awesome framed though xD

Yes, parents never change - whether you're in or out of college. Been there, done that with my folks. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all with the ones you bought.
Do please send along your source for those sketches. I'd be interested in any leftovers they may have after you buy out their stock.

If One Piece did use traditional cels, the pencil lines on your douga would have been xeroxed onto the acetate and then the colors would have been painted on. Since One Piece is CG, the animators actually scanned in your douga and created the colored "cels" on the computer.
One of the most disappointing things is how incredibly rare the production artwork is for One Piece, which is such a massive series. I've seen more cels/sketches for some shows that only have twelve or less episodes!

Conri, thank you so very much for all the info! I'll definitely check out Rubberslug. I only have three douga (one good size and two very small) – Chopper, Luffy, and Zoro (well the back of Zoro). They are all from Movie 3. There are a few still hanging around eBay (Art Toons is the seller) if you're interested.

My tree was spur of the moment…it's fiber optic, so I usually don't put much decorations on it if I take it out. Then, I remembered my tiny OP plushies had strings, and my tree became infinitely cooler.
As for your sketches, quantity matters very little, only how much you like what you've got. I've seen a number of galleries not much bigger than three items. Well, count me as one person who would be interested in seeing your sketches.

I hear ya! Almost makes me jealous of Bleach and Naruto fans sometimes… almost.

I'm a proud owner of a Gundam Wing Cel/Douga pair already so i know a bit about cels and such, but i just didnt think a CG anime would have PERFECT douga's per frame. cool that they do though :D.

It's good if you can find a program that you can step through the video frame by frame. I like to use VirtualDub for avi, mkv, etc, and I think Power DVD is one that works for DVDs.

Yup. CG anime just makes the cels on the computer instead of with acetate and paint. However, I've heard that some studios these days are finding ways to do some of the sketch stages on the computers as well…which (along with other factors like outsourcing) might explain why we're seeing fewer sketches these days.

Looks like a rough or rough genga. It also looks pretty consistent with other roughs/rough genga I've seen from OP. Definitely not storyboard, those always appear on this type of paper (Lupin III copy), and original storyboard artwork are rarest of the rare along with original character design (settei/settings).

Yes, they do:
Luffy = King
Robin = Queen (2 Variants)
Nami = Queen
Usopp = Rook
Sanji = Knight
Zoro = Bishop
Chopper = Pawn.I got one of the Robin ones….but the whole set is stupid, you get one of each character, so you end up with three Queens and 1 Pawn.

Got my set…well 2 of them since one package was lost ,the other was the replacment and both somehow were found and sent out at the same time
Now one is going back to the store (Free of course) and the original earlier package is mine and now put together.
10 figures,SMALLER than i expected. made out of hard plastic,not rubberish material like the diorama world 4 set . Zoros swords, Monteblancs sword and eneru/Enels staff are warped but common with gashapon i guess
Came with Many of the booklets so this is a official set.

Alright, I've got a bit of a dilemma. I got my Franky POP today and, while trying to take his damn shirt off (because you have to pull his fuckin arms off; I seriously thought he was about to break), this happened.

How in the hell do I reconnect these? It's very tedious and I don't know the best way of going about it.
Just a side note: Why is Franky so tan? I have him standing next to my Michael Scott Bobblehead and my Nami v.2 POP. He looks like a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT character. They made him more tan then Robin.

I honestly don't know if this is the best way, but do you have any needle nose pliers? They should be small enough at the tip to help you crimp the last link of the chain to his arm. I've done something similar with good results.
And, yes, he is very (I'd say overly) tan – he looks downright odd standing next to my my other POPs.
