Carter and Gohn are now the same person.
Am probably the one who said it.

Ryuk's a bad character now?
I was actually talking about Near.
Considering he was always like this, no.
He was a tweak
But nothing in that manga ever suggested he was a giant crybaby.
He didn't know whether he was going to win or not. You never can in a game like that.
Both Light and L. thought they would win.
As opposed to the alternate of pleasing retarded fanboys by having Light win for some reason.
Light winning would actually be interesting, instead of this same old 'justice will prevail' BS, or get busted by somebody who's not a douchebag.
Instead of going "HERE YA GO L., FANGIRLZ, LIGHTS HUNKERING DOWN LIKE A LIL BITCH, YA HAPPY!!!??"
It's been shown that Light can easily lose his tempter/patience when he feels insulted or whatever, as was shown when L confronted Light at the university's ceremony.
Which is why rolling on the floor is fine.

But nothing in that manga ever suggested he was a giant crybaby.
At any moment where he could have been in serious danger, he freaked out.

No.

The protagonist coming out victorious is not interesting.

Of course you just have to blame everything on fans, because it's always their fault. There's no need to rationale anything you say, because fans are around!
Which is why rolling on the floor is fine.
Yes, considering what happened.
It also doesn't help that he was SHOT.
At any moment where he could have been in serious danger, he freaked out.
Slamming your fists and begging for your life are two different things.
No.
Yes?
The protagonist coming out victorious is not interesting.
Not if the protagonist is a psychopathic, serial killer who dreams of being a god.

When were talking about L. fans…...........
And if what Gohn says is true, about the producers and all.
Slamming your fists and begging for your life are two different things.
For two different situations. In one there was just the possibility of getting caught, in the other he was actually caught.
Yes?
No?
Not if the protagonist is a psychopathic, serial killer who dreams of being a god.
It's still the main character overcoming all obstacles and achieving his goals. Not much of a big change-up there.
And if what Gohn says is true, about the producers and all.
Which had nothing to do with L.
This just makes me wonder how the fanbase would be if L had won and Light had died the same way in the manga anyways…
And when Light freaked out, he didn't just slam his fists on a table, he went completely awol quite a few times, orchestrating ridiculous plans that just ended up overcomplicated things and leading to his capture.
Him rolling about on the ground didn't surprise me at all.
For two different situations. In one there was just the possibility of getting caught, in the other he was actually caught.
I think he was more pissed about being tricked so easily
Because he wanted to be known
No?
Yay?
It's still the main character overcoming all obstacles and achieving his goals. Not much of a big change-up there.
If the main character is an evil bastard, that's better then "JUSTICE PREVAILING OVER IMPOSSIBLE ODDS!!!"
Which had nothing to do with L.
Never aid it did
@Cap'n:
I just noticed how hilarious the thread's title is
I don't remember saying that

I just have a good memory. A good 10 minutes is a more specific description.
I'm reading over those last moments right now myself. I wonder if Light's breakdown isn't just because of his defeat, but how everything came crashing down all at once.
Not only did Near have him dead to rights, but the one who brought him down and stopped his last shot at victory was none other than Matsuda, who Light almost certainly regarded as the stupidest of the bunch. Then, on top of all that, Mikami, his most loyal follower, rejected him. From that point he just seemed to lose all sense of what was going on. He was begging for Misa, and Takada, who he knew weren't even there. He even forgot Ryuk wouldn't help him. It just all crashed in around him and he snapped.
Personally, I think it's a fitting end. Even if it's not a given in this case, there was always a good chance Light would come out the loser in the end. And what better way to have this killer who's spent so much of the series calm and collected and possessing absurdly good foresight fall than by having his one last hope at victory stopped by someone who never showed any particular talent to stop him and then having him just lose that long-kept cool and go ballistic with the realization he's no god but just one really screwed over mortal who knew that he literally had nothing to look forward to after death.
But that's just my opinon. I could be wrong.
GRR
Imagine L breaking down and getting mad if he would of known he would of lost to kira before dieing….I wonder If L would of got the death note instead of Light...I don't know L and Light are so alike that....hmm?
I like how this is a thread that appears to be intended for comments about the DN dub that just premiered the very first episode of the series and you guys are sitting here arguing about the quality/lack thereof of the ending.
Great jorb.
I didn't think it was that bad. Light's mom's voice is a bit annoying but other than that, I enjoyed it.
With CN airing these live action movies… I hope that they will air the 2 live action Death Note movies on Adult Swim. =)

Indeed; I haven't watched but one episode, but I can already argue about how out-of-character Light's death was.

Because Desu Notou is serious business.
okay.. I know this is ridiculous, but I saw it on the forums before and I have no idea where I saw it.. but someone uploaded the most hilarious rendition of the last episode of DeathNote and made is soo funny I thought I would piss myself. Do any of you know where i can find the video on youtube?? I looked it up for about half an hour and got no where.
I can't wait to see this on Adult Swim, it's sad that this will be in it's glory and One Piece won't, but I can't wait to see this either way :3
And thanks for any links or help you guys!!

If you really can't wait, the first episode is currently watchable on their website.

You mean the swimming lessons thing right? That's been posted up here a couple times in this thread.
Tonight episode 2 L's voice!
Tonight is Lind L. Taylor, the true hero of the show.
Tonight the character solely responsible for keeping death note afloat is introduced.
Well here's hoping L sounds cool.

Oh yeah, totally forgot the manga was called L Eats Snack Cakes.

It really should have been, at least during the Yotsuba arc.

Well they could have called it "Near plays with his dolls"
Or they could've called it "Old gay joke you all missed the point retards"

Not the reactions you were expecting?
I'm sorry tomorrow night…i'm such a retard =P
Well, technically it is tonight on the fix.
Yeyaaa!!! I Can't Wait For L's Voice!
I see why /b/ likes Death Note so much from Light's lil lecture about anonymity.
Also, I got a feeling L's voice was suppose to sound a lot calmer than it did in that last line (based on pictures I've already seen of the character).
L's voice….
is quite good. I must say I even more impressed with the dub.
That was good indeed.
L's voice was too deep.
This series ain't bad so far. The Death note is an interesting concept and the fact that the main character/hero is a sociopath in interesting as well. Can't wait to see a bit more
@Cyringohn:
L's voice was too deep.
You'd prefer L sound like a 10 year old girl?
L's voice is pretty damn good. Yagami Soichiro is allright.
Lind L. Taylor's voice is awesome :P
Souichirou's voice fit, but it sounded like he was just reading his lines. Watari's voice sounds way too young. The others (L, Matsuda, Sayu) were great.
You'd prefer L sound like a 10 year old girl?
Yes. Since that's how he sounded originally.
That, and your statement is an insult to old-school DBZ.
@Cyringohn:
Yes. Since that's how he sounded originally.

L isn't some pure of heart martial artist.
Also, Japanese L didn't sound like a 10 year old girl. He sounded like a bored teenager who doesn't get enough sleep.
@Cyringohn:
Yes. Since that's how he sounded originally.
It was sarcasm.
L's voice is still far too deep. It doesn't even sound close to the original format.
L's voice is pretty good. It's a bit deep, but so long as he sounds as whimsical and funny when the situation demands, I'll be satisfied.
I wanted to say L was too deep…but I never heard his original voice. I just figured it wasn't that deep due to Kappei Yamaguchi voicing him, and I know what Usopp sounds like. But when I read the manga...I imagined him with a voice like he has in the dub...just more....bored sounding as that's how he's always looked to me in the manga.
L was perfect!!! The only problem I had was Wataris voice…he's an old man but he had that well idk...but Light is starting to sound psycotic a little bit and I'm loving it! That's just one of the many stupid mistakes we will see Light make throughout the entire serious...and he only makes more retard ones later on =P

He's still in disguise. I guess they just don't want us wondering why the hell we're hearing the voice of an old man coming out of this trench coated figure.
Light makes very few mistakes in the series. In fact, you can easily argue that the Lind L. Tailor scenario is the greatest mistake he makes in the entire manga, since most of his other misfortunes are:
