I can't say much about the voice. I'll have to wait for some actual dialogue. Though it was nice to hear him say "super". 83

I remember there was a video up on youtube about some people talking to Mike McFarland after the premiere and he showed them an actual Strawhat flag. That would be so kick ass if they sold that. I'd buy a flag pole JUST for that.

After hearing the Franky clip like 7 times now….I LOVE HIS VOICE! It fits him more and more every time I hear it. So yeah, for me the problem was mainly the "overwhelm-ment".
I encourage those who are still iffy on his voice to listen to it some more, better done with an hour or two inbetween listenings.

I just got on and listened to the clips of the game with Franky and Smoker. I really like both voices. However the one for Franky is very short and I want to hear more of his. Now Smoker I really like that one because I got to hear it longer. I also loved seeing the flashback footage of Loguetown. Those scene have always been favorites of mine.
Anyway it looks like Franky and Smoker are good hands. Also I am so delighted they are calling him Smoker.

Hm, I don't read the thread for a couple of days and game clips pop up..they should probably be posted somewhere other than the episode discussion thread.
Voices sound decent to me, I don't know how anyone could really make much of a judgment on Franky from a couple of shouts. He actually reminds me a lot of Japanese Franky except a little less grainy. Initially I didn't care for Franky's Japanese voice, hehe.

Franky sounds like a more mediocre version of his Japanese voice. I'm not disapointed because I dont care much about Franky's voice and not to mention it could be changed by the time we actually get to his introduction in the anime.
Also, it's a children's comic from Japan.
Why are you comparing it to cultural engravings and burritos.

It seems Funi is giving Franky the "DBZ muscle guy voice". I honestly think that a "Jim Carey" sounding voice (or something like that) would be more on par' with the Japanese version of Franky.
But still it is a bit too early to judge. Although, we at least now have a sample. And unless he gets his tonsils removed, that's the voice we're going to get.
