The first DBZ dubbers erased Mr. Popo's lips. Which was wierd… because Mr. Popo isn't human in the first place. He looked freaky without the lips too xD

Well, looks like CN's default rating for One Piece is TV-PG now (rather then alternating between Y7 and PG, like some of us thought). Hopefully, this means the little edits we do have will subside as we go on.
Anybody else notice a significant improvement in Luffy's voice this week? There were still a few frog voice lines, but there were also lots of lines where he sounded like an actual person.
Of course, with that improvement comes another realization.
I think it's an issue with both the script and the VA, but does is it just me, or does dub Luffy sound more… aware than sub Luffy?
The way Luffy acts and speaks he gives off the impression that he doesn't really know what the hell is going on around him. That he's not all there or he's not paying attention to anything not directly in front of him. Like he's off in his own world 24/7.
Dub Luffy doesn't seem to have that. I'm not sure why.
Zoro is getting better as well, so that's nice. Although some of his lines this week weren't very... in character.
Sanji needs work as well. He doesn't sound bad.... but he doesn't sound like Sanji either.

Rightstuf is a good site, but their sales are misleading. It's 40% off the MSRP, not their normal prices. Sometimes they have a legitimately good deal, but most of the time their "sale" prices fall around standard internet prices.

Popo is from DBZ, which was by FUNi. They weren't the ones sued.
4Kids (and Nintendo too) were sued for Jynx. It makes sense they'd want to cover their asses from being sued with a potentially offensive character, as small a role he may play.
In any case, they didn't do it 'cause they were "racist". I'm tired of hearing that reason be thrown around.

At least have the same type of faces... the reason I ask is because I want to make Sims of them... but my sims maker is like broken and I can't edit faces at all. everything else I can do but that, so if I can find similar faces to maybe download, I can just add the right clothing and stuff...

I don't really have that much to say, as I haven't watched those episodes since… April, I think, and so I don't really notice any of the edits here. I was surprised that Luffy actually called the ship "Going Merry", though. Didn't 4Kids use "Merry Go"? I know Viz did that, at least. Maybe this means that they're NOT using 4Kids-names for everything.

No they didn't. You're thinking of when Viz colored Popo's lips to pure black in the MANGA. Popo was untouched from the anime.
SanjiX5, you really should note that the lack of eyecatchers and previews are all on Cartoon Network's part. It's blatantly obvious when they skipped over the FUNimation logo at the end.
Regarding Cricket's arm, I can honestly say I didn't notice that that was the edit. I knew the ciggy was missing, but I had no idea it was his whole arm that was touched up. Were it 4Kids who'd have done the edit, it would have be PAINFULLY obvious as hell that something was touched.

The problem with Vale is that his voice isn't deep enough. He's not a bad actor or whatnot, just needs to be deeper.

He just doesn't… sound like Sanji. When he speaks, he doesn't trigger any thing in my brain that makes me think Sanji is talking. And he's the only member of the cast that doesn't do it.
If I shut my eyes and listen to the dub, I hear Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Chopper, Robin, and... other guy.
^Yea, I agree with the majority of people on this one. Sanji's VA just sounds like some "generic anime dude". =/

Watched the episode, this dub gets better and better every week. Everyone seems to be more relaxed in their voice especially Luffy. Really thank you ChibiGoku, without your uploads I would be out of luck and not able to watch any of the episodes so far because of marching competitions I have had every Saturday for the past month and a half.
In any case, Crickets voice is great. Funi's edits are way less noticeable than 4kids', I can't even tell that a part is edited most of the time. I am a bit nervous on how much CN is gonna keep on forcing them to edit the violence but 2 episodes from now will really be the judge, when Bellamy decimates Cricket and the Saruyama alliance.

It's 148, they hunt for the southbird at 149, capture it at 150, and 151 Luffy beats bellamy and we have the shichibukai appear in 151.
I can't believe that we only see 4 episodes in 1 month. -___-
Maybe when Funi gets more episodes dubbed we'll get at least two episodes per week.

^We already could see 2 episodes a week. Funi said that they had completely finished dubbing up to the Chopper vs. Gedatzu episode a week ago.

Yeah, because that's TOTALLY not the exact same as what Japan's getting. The only reason we'd have to complain about this is because of Naruto. (Which I REALLY wish Toonami would stop adding more and more reruns of. I mean, they show two new episodes and two reruns EVERY SATURDAY! And don't they ALSO show reruns on weekdays? I don't have anything against the show, but there's a limit to how many airings it needs.)
