Fuck you Suckarai!
-
Looking kinda 3d there, Mac.
-
Why does this seem so satisfying…?Dissapointing that he's only an assist trophy, but nice to see Old Mcdonald's grandson is on the scene at all.
-
Good to see that Little Mac is in his NES form but i wish he was playable maybe in the next Smash Bros
-
This update was too mean sakurai, T____T

This is going to be the last Smash Bros ever. Or at least, the last one Sakurai develops.
-
-
Little Mac being an Assist Trophie is still the most disappointing thing about this game so far.
-
Sakurai twists the knife some more
-
Looks like Little Mac was confirmed, but as an Assist Trophy…
:ninja::ninja::ninja:
As cool as Little Mac being playable would've been, it doesn't seem like that big of a loss. Beyond a one-two punch and an uppercut, it doesn't really seem like his moveset could've been anymore, if not less various than Sonic's.
Unless his Final Smash was transforming into his SNES self and scaring small children away from the TV.
-
Little Mac has limitless possibilities. He's fighting for his dreams!
Oh, and apparently, L-canceling has been removed. All attacks that were L-cancellable now automatically have their recovery frames adjusted as if the attack had been L-canceled.
Another victory for casual gamers, and another victory for Gohn.

Okaaaaaaay, I'm going to assume you've never played SFIII 3rd Strike then.

Nvm Oops! Dangit!

no hes playable now look at the site
sorry for double post
edit: MY BAD DIDN'T READ WHOLE THING

Okaaaaaaay, I'm going to assume you've never played SFIII 3rd Strike then.
Assumption correct.
Am I right to assume you're referring to the character Balrog?
-
He's referring to Dudley. Balrog isn't in the Street Fighter III series.
-
Metal Gear Solid 2 was going to be Kojima's last, too.
Assumption correct.
Am I right to assume you're referring to the character Balrog?
More like the character Dudley.
-

Nein, I'm referring to Dudley
He's more like upgraded Balrog. He does Crosscountering, Corkscrew Blows, machine-gun blows, Rolling Thunder, etc. Most of his moves were homage to the Hajime no Ippo and Ashita Joe series and I was kinda hoping for the same aspect with Little Mac.:sad:Edit:Whoa, three of us kinda of jump on ya, TakinawaTonfa. No hard feelings I hope.
-
Am still imagining Little Mac's victory pose, where he lifts up his two fists and smiles like a dumbass.
Oh, but a fleeting dream now…
-
@Cyringohn:

So they removed L-cancelling and generally reduced the lag you get when landing in an aerial attack ?
-
Yes, that's what people are saying. We'll get more in-depth confirmation [or denial] this afternoon.
Am hoping it's true, because this'll help bridge the gap between competitive and casual. The only thing that's left to cause differentiation is how hard you try [short hop, just plain being good at the game, etc.], and it'd be kind of pathetic if people are like: "YOU RUIN SMASH BROS. BECAUSE YOU TRY TO WIN"

A terrible disservice has been committed today.

I'm going to complain about it on my Livejournal and post a video on my YouTube account calling you all fags now. >:|
…Nah, everything's cool, learn something new every day. I've just been somewhat detached from the SF series since, like....Super Street Fighter II.
I've actually become more and more of a Virtua Fighter kind of guy.
-
Akira and El Blaze is where it's at.
-
Yeah, thats cool and all…....
Lion
-
"Tch, WHAT A KNUCKLEHEAD!"
Well, here's hoping for no more future glitches that seriously hinders competitive play. raises coffee mug
-
Wow just had the store call me to tell me about brawl's delay. Rather depressing really.
Oh and seems quite a few people are complaing about mac's look. I like it myself. And prehaps he's not handsome, but if he wanted to be he wouldn't be in carrer that causes so much contact between fists and faces. Your thoughts.
-
El Blaze is a midget. An ass kicking midget, that is.@Cap'n:
Metal Gear Solid 2 was going to be Kojima's last, too.
Yeah, that's what they always say…
I don't really care eitherway, Little Mac being playeable or an assist, as long as his in the game. So I'm happy. He looks fine. And good to hear about L canceling even though I would had sort of prefer it the other way around but I take wavedashing is out too?
-
Was perusing through the thread… People talking about wavedashing is gone... No big loss. I used it all the time, sure, but I've played against a bunch of players that were insane without it. Not game breaking at all. However, the fact that no direction can be added to air dodging is a major step backwards. I hope that's not true.
And people talking about losing L-Canceling, and the game automatically does it... That's very interesting. Sakurai said that he was going to make Brawl a bit slower, but this change makes the game somewhat faster. Well, "moderating" was the correct term, but it seems it's a step in the right direction.
And in my eyes, wavedashing and L-canceling aren't necessarily glitches. L-canceling is just using the game engine to your advantage. L-Canceling is simply pressing the shield button at the right time to draw up your shield, then letting go before it activates, minimizing lag. Also, the sliding on the ground may have been intended from directional air dodging, but using it in the way it's used today certainly wasn't thought of in development, though.
Either way, makes it very interesting. I can't wait to hear game impressions from E 4 All.

We still have hope. King Hippo for Subspace Emissary boss.
Or Mr. Sandman. Still have trouble beating him.
-
I'm disappointed, to say the least. Poor Little Mac, you deserved better than this. Hopefully if there's enough fan requests next time, Little Mac can make the cut as a playable character. :(
That reminds me: Nintendo needs to let fans in other parts of the world request characters. Then perhaps the character selection process would be a lot more fair.
-
Well, at least we have… Sonic.

Apparently, the rest of Ike's moveset is…
Forward B: A chargable dashing attack that's almost as fast as Fox's Forward B.
Down B: A counter attack, more or less the same as Roy and Marth's from the sounds of it.
Final Smash: "Starts out like Aether except he continously attacks the person in the air and then sends the person slamming down onto the floor before Ike follows on top with a finishing blow." -
lollin at no wavedashing.
-
FUCK YOU SakuRAIIIIIIIII SHIT I AM GOING TO BOYCOTT THIS FUCKING GAME
-
This post is deleted!
-
How awesome would it have been to have Little Mac's moveset incorporate the fighting styles of his Punch-Out!! opponents? The Bull Charge could've been his final smash, Don Flamenco's tauntpunch could've been side+b or something… having his stupid pink jumpsuit as an alt costume would've been amazing.
sigh now I get the feeling that with every new character that gets confirmed, my initial reaction will be "THIS guy got in over Little Mac?" At least they had the decency to use his 8-bit design.

Personally, I think 3D Mac looks awesome.
What I don't understand is, if Punch Out really was all that in Japan a while ago, why didn't Little Mac make it into the roster? He's basically got a moveset made for him.
-
I think he looks awesome too. I'm glad that they didn't use his design from Super Punch-Out!!, which was already put into 3D with disastrous results.
The reason for his exclusion that gets tossed around a lot is that he wouldn't be able to have a varied moveset, which doesn't make much sense, seeing as how we already have a character whose special moves are almost all exactly the same.
-
Now that I think about it, with a 3D model like this, a Punch Out for the Wii isn't down the tubes.

Just like the Ice Climbers game cube game? Just a model isn't enough, sadly
-
Yeah, I like when people go "BOXING IS JUST HITTING"
The sport actually has a lot of variety, you just want see it in the "big name" matches between Heavyweights, because those guys have no skill at all. They're just tactless gorillas who slug each other and clinch 50 times a round.
As disappointed as I am about his exclusion, I'm not terribly sad because I actually kind of saw this coming. Ah well.
And it sounds like Ike has at least one move similar to Marth… I doubt that counts him out, though.

Ice Climbers suck.
-
@Private:
Ice Climbers suck.
…
meh, don't want to fight.
new video
-
That reminds me
There's a new item- the Lightning Bolt from Mario Kart. It shrinks everyone else. You can briefly see it in that lamepro video.
Bellamy told me that he's heard that Bowser's moves do much more damage, and there's been reports of Fox being very toned down.
-
That video makes Pit look really shitty ><;
-
The player was a doofus
GOT A SMASH BALL BETTER NOT USE MY FINAL SMASH
-
That video was pretty weak. And yeah, what retard does not use his Final Smash? I hope he was trying to show off since it only takes one button to activate it

So glad someone here realizes this.
