Hunter x Hunter

Could very well be, it'll be interesting to see how useful Ika will be to the mission. Seeing how much Gon/Killua & Shoot/Knuckle had to go through just to get into NGL, I doubt Morau would've let him tag along unless he could contribute something special.
-
that the Queen (and her stinger) the Ryodan killed?
He's talking about that part where they figure out what the NGL really does. That Lion centaur thing comes out with naked people on leashes and treats them like animals.
-
Dayamn, no violence fights? Guess I'll stick to the manga.
-

I was wondering why the octopuss was missing and why the dragonfly guy was there… forgot that he could take hosts.
(that is SOOO freaky)
-
I really should have re-read.
What's going on with the octupus dude in the last panel?
and I'm hoping Hanzo is one of the "two men".
Nexgear chapter is released.
Great Chapter though. Enjoyed it alot more than last weeks
and I can't take it anymore, time to re-read.
-
As eager as I am to see Hanzo back, I don't think it's time for him to show himself.
I ll stick with my guy, or at least one of those 5 best nen-users netero talked about. -
I'm cool as long as it's not Ging.
Unless Togashi finally decided he's done with it and wants to end it in the most retarded way imaginable.
-

Damn, I really dunno how they're gonna do that. It's out of question to erase them along with Gon's lesson on how much of a hell it can be [they may very well do that though].
If I could decide I'd say the humans are gonna be there, but not at the condition they were, only uninjured dogs kinda like. And if making them emo and quiet can make up for being terrified while crying, that'll do. Then they're crushed off-screen like Gensuru did with that group ["Releeaaaaaase"].As of the two dudes, spoilers in nG are somehow confirming [or not] it's one of the Zaoldyecks [HOW DO YOU WRITE THAT DAMN YOU TOGASHI].. or something.
-
I really hope next week reveals who the two people who fell from the sky are. It already is torture enough wondering who they are -.-
-
Yeah, Zeno and Silva seem like like candidates too. Or Zeno and Netero.
-
Dayamn, no violence fights? Guess I'll stick to the manga.
Yeah, let's ignore a superior anime adaption with improved character development because it doesn't have one overrated, gory fight.
Priorities these days, gotta love 'em.
-
I personally never got the point of why people loved the Castro fight so much.
OMG HISOKA CUT OFF HIS ARMS DATS SO CRAZY
but I like the manga over the anime because manga is less time consuming.
I will watch the anime some day though
-
I love Hisoka and I did find the fight to be somewhat enjoyable( if not a little cut-and-dry.), but what got me into HxH was the impressive character development and a pretty well written story, not the fights. It's kind of the reason I enjoyed Green(d?) Island more than gasp! York Shin.( The Ryodan weren't really my cup of tea, until their famous attack against the Ant Hive.)
Hell, to be quite honest, I don't think the fights have been all that impressive until this arc rolled around, where we were treated to Morau's two consecutive fights and that hilarious confrontation Killua had with Mr.Octopus.
-
York Shin didn't really have many fights tho (which kinda made me like the arc even more), just 3 real brief battles. Besides, everybody I know loves it for the character development and storyline as opposed to the action. Plus considering who Gon and co wer facing, wouldn't have been realistic to have fights since they (Kurapica excluded) were far outclassed.

That part actually made me like Killua more. Well, that and everything before that with him killing craploads of ants. Before that, I just thought he was ok. Most badass part of the arc to me.
-
York Shin and GL are probably my favorite arcs simply because they didn't involve the competition storylines that Togashi seems to enjoy writing so much and I'm not a huge fan of.

Don't get me wrong, I don't really dislike York Shin, but I felt the Ryodan and the few fights that it had were pretty overrated compared to how certain buddies of mine portrayed them. What really got me was how the arc focused on characters I didn't care for at the moment, and some of my favorites were drafted to the side, only for my like of Kurapica to wane quite a bit.
It's funny, considering I really love some of the Ryodan now. Phinx, who I used to blow off as a run-of-the-mill hothead, has become one of my favorite characters thanks to his confrontation with the mutated civilians in the Ant Hive, and Boneferu has one of the best and creative abilities in the series.
-
I get where you're coming from WeAllEatFood. Just givin my side is all. I do agree that the fights before Chimera were pretty unremarkable with the exception of Ubo vs The Community/Inujuu. Glad to see that's been rectified with this arc.
And yeah, Phinx definitely benefitted from the Chimera Arc due to that scene you mentioned. He did kinda seem like just muscle at first but I'm glad that changed. And Bone was a welcome suprise as I thought he was just gonna be some wierd old creepy guy.
-
It's pretty funny to think that a book where characters have ridiculously detailed techniques went on for so long without having any actual fights. I guess it's just Togashi being rebellious and angsty towards the shonen conventions as usual.
-
All this talk about Phinx is making me ache for him to get a serious fight.
…......maybe in a couple of arcs, he could have some awesome, destructive, physical brawl with, dare I say, Gon?! Now I'm just talkin' crazy talk…....but, man that would be something....
-
It seems I'm the only one who just can't compare stuff.
The only thing HxH killed a little inside me was during the first raid with Kaito, that little scene where Killua said "I haven't used the transformation in a while.." against one doctor-like ant. It hurts when Togashi takes it as a transformation thing that Killua can't access unless he lets an evil side or some crap take over him. -

that would be awesome indeed
-
Who is "Boneferu" again? and what's his ability?
-
Mummy guy that fires out sound from holes in his body, and can make solid shapes out of sound depending on what ''performance'' he…......performs.
-
Guy who had probably the best Ant Kill in their Chimera Ant invasion
-
Those have always been my feelings as well.
I can't really name a fight I really thought was out standing in hunter.(Then again it's been two years) but I liked how well developed the world, characters, and plot are, and that is the reason I read.
I personally didn't give a shit about Hisoka until the dodgeball game actually(when he made their victory absolute.)
The Ryodan still really don't interest me at all actually. I don't hate them, but I'm in no hurry to see them again. Just they haven't really been developed beyond "Evil organization", and aren't really relevant to anything.
but I pretty much agree with you on everything. Lol. I hate saying that(since it makes it look like you can't think on your own) but those are really just about my feelings as well.
Edit: GODDAMN NOT OPENING UP TO LATEST PAGE
Bonefuru and vacuum chick are probably my 2 favorite Ryodan members that are alive.
-
Guy who had probably the best Ant Kill in their Chimera Ant invasion
Togashi's dialouge at it's best only made the curb-stomp that much more awesome.
EDIT: Just curious, Tony-Kun, what Ryodan do you actually like?
-
-
Uh, Ryodan is a bit beyond "Generic Evil Organization #1". Even thought they're killers, they do care a great deal about each other and seem to have some sort of redeeming qualities. And they are relevent as they did kill one of the main characters clan (am glad that plotline doesn't overshadow the main story tho). But I see where you're coming from tho, as most either love or hate Ryodan.
-

Uvo and Nobunaga I liked too.
Probably my favorite scene with them was Gon beating Nobunaga in arm wrestling.
Phinx is cool, but for some reason his "Go out with a Bang" didn't stick with me and I forgot it over the years. but he definitely sounds like someone I'd like.
Gonna re-read and see if I like them with my tastes as they are now.
All I know is that I don't like Feitan at all.

Not saying they are generic, I know they have love for each other(Gon's arm wrestling, Favorite scene dealt directly with this) but most groups do. I just haven't really seen anything I found too interesting come from them. Alot of really cool and interesting characters in the group, but the group itself, as well as many members, really haven't been developed enough for me to care about them yet.
but again, it's been a while. XP

just to post it for teh memories
!

Pain Packer is one of the cheapest attacks in this series. But I'm wishy/washy on Feitan, sometimes I love em, sometimes I hate him because of how generic he is.
-
I love the Pain Packer, just…..everything else about that damn kid is....ugh...
-
I despise Karuto with an extreme passion. First of all, he fucking looks like a girl and wears a kimono, and second of all, his ability is lame.
-

what's the matter, did you get trapped?
-
I think Pain Packer the move looks awesome.
It's how overpowered it is or such a little cost that I don't like.
I mean even Boneferu's power seems like it can be beat, but Feitan's calls on the power of the sun in exchange for a few blows that weren't even serious injuries for him.
I mean Kurapica has to limit his ability to only the Ryodan at the cost of his own life in order to use his cheap ability, but feitan….
and thought this was pretty awesome.
!
-
No. It's just that while reading the Ryodan invading the ant hive part…I seriously couldn't believe he was a boy...
-
To be fair,Beef, Togashi does make some mighty convincing traps.
-
It's a bit shallow but I like Feitan entirely because he fights with crazy umbrella weapons.
-
I've built an immunity to traps. I just consider everyone a guy, even if it looks like a girl. I promised myself I'd never get trapped again, and it's working well so far.
-
I was tricked too.
but it's not like I was wanking it to him even when I thought he was a girl.
So I don't see how it was a big deal unless you had taped an enlarged picture of him to your blow up doll or something before you found out.
-
rule of thumb: if the character in question is exponentially prettier than most of the females, it's a guy.
-
Example:
Perona
…...wait
-
Perona being a guy would be the most hilarious thing to happen to this forum in a long time. I can only imagine how Pass the Rootbeer would react.

learn to use updated scans noobsauce, and Pain Packer is very limited I actually liked Feitan alot more after reading about his Nen ability
-
One Piece has no traps. The closest thing was Bon Clay. And I already said I knew Karuto was a guy, it's just that while reading I couldn't believe it.
-

@Really:

Honestly, in the realm of unbelievable things in this series, traps should be one of the last things on the list.
