@Cyringohn:
All Toriyama did with GT was approve the character designs.
I read that he also designed a few of the characters himself.
-
The Buu saga was awesome because it was hilarious as well as creative and bad ass.
Reading a summary made me realize how funny it was, and now I want to go through it again.
-
Buu and Cell were horribly boring, since they could regenerate. You knew it'd take some giant blast of fuckshit to "completely blow away each particle", so each arc was just a huge giant wait to see how they went about doing that.
-
I think that's better than seeing Freeza or Vegeta emerge from a cloud of dust unharmed.
-
At least you knew that Freeza could still be harmed by things like Krillin's Kienzan. That, and he was the "universe's most powerful warrior." It wasn't too terribly surprising that most things couldn't harm him.
But even then, in his earlier forms, he was getting worked over by Piccolo and whatnot. He didn't have that aura of hopelessness that surrounded things like Cell. No matter what you threw at Cell, you knew he'd just regenerate it back.
-
So…uhh...how about that new Bleach chapter?

I hated Buu's super-regeneration too but what he had compared to Frieza and Cell was personality. Instead of being this super-serious, egotistical beast who only cares about self and personal power and gains, Buu was this little kid who just killed and really didn't care. Cell and particularly Frieza had no real personality outside desire to either:
A. Be the most powerful and evil being in the universe (Frieza)
B. Complete his program and "be the most powerful without being too bored of losers". (Cell) -
Buu was just one of those laughing nut jobs. The most interesting Buu was easily Fat Buu - the rest of 'em were a yawn fest.
-
Blah. Bleach sucks, lol. 2 would've been soooo much more interesting….
-
He's 5….people photoshopped it and flipped the five upside down so it looks like a really crappy 2.
-
Do you guys remember all that boasting noitora made, and How I said he can't possibly be lower than 3? Guess what, He is number 2! :D Check out the latest spoilers of the latest chapter.
A little slow this week, are we?
-
So…uhh...how about that new Bleach chapter?
Right before Noitora is about to slice Ichigo they switch to Ishada and Renji, and what do you know, Ichigo saves Grimmjow, big suprise. Like I said, Ichigo taking down 2 Espada in a row would nothing below terrible.
-
Predictions for Bleach: Renji and Ishida will defeat Apollo. They sense Ichigo's power fading and run to his location. They fight Noitora and lose. Ichigo gets resolve from seeing them hurt and wins the battle.
And Chad is secretly working with Aizen to take over Mexico.
-
@Really:

probably

Probably

Hopefully not
And Chad is secretly working with Aizen to take over Mexico.
Most likely, yes.
-
Wow, this chapter wasn't as horrible as people portayed it to be. Hopefully Apollo is killed by atleast the beginning of October. And Orihime needs to stop getting fucking kidnapped.
Btw, Kubo is a dumbfuck with plots if this is whats gonna happen. Cuz, given the events it seems like this is what its gonna be
6 Espada - Grimmjow
5 Espada - Noitora
4 Espada - Ulquiorra (Remember, he's not trapped by Grimmjow for too much longer)
Kubo better not just keep going down the line until all the espada are defeaten in numerical order. :getlost: -
So was Halibel confirmed as #1, or were those spoilers full of crap?

-
Also, back to Boo: the main reason for that super-regeneration was to make him more of a threat than Cell. It was kind of annoying to see him as kind of a Cell-repeat, but eh. The regeneration was dealt with in other ways (I personally loved that scene where a shitload of Kid Boos formed from its particles and started laughing at Goku).
I would've loved it if he stayed as Mr. Boo, but he had to have a personality changed for two reasons; 1) he had a severely likeable personality and it would seem slightly wrong if the hero killed him, and 2) he needed to seem like a much bigger threat.
But I still love the Boo saga, despite all of the twists and turns.
-
OFF-TOPIC…..BUT.....MUST.....RESPOND
Toriyama only contributed character designs.
DB Myth #75302

@Cap'n:

Still nothing on Halibel's rank. For now, she's just a stoic pair of bewbs.
-
I'm liking One Piece way better right now, lol. This series is becoming somewhat predictable and redundant. For Christ's sake, it'd be hella more interesting if maybe Ichigo, after beating grim, went up against the real #2 or something and fails. Then they could get rescued by some captains that never get any freakin face time, for once.

That would be lamer than the actual storyline.

Well, at least this week's chapter had a hot-looking Grimmjow in it.
I swear, Bleach men always seem to look their hottest after a defeat and they're all bloody and hair-mussed.

Aaroniero Arleri is hot when he's spewing pill juice all over your face.

@Cap'n:
goddamn sadist fetishists
I'm just stating what every fangirl is thinking.
Besides, Bleach guys are plenty hot without the blood and stuff. It's just that post-defeat their hair is always at a bishie-premium.
-
@Cyringohn:

That made me burst out laughing for some reason. I've degraded myself even lower.

Rawr, looking back on it, I'm dissapointed a cool Espada like him had to die so early. We can only hope his death wasn't in vein and he took Rukia down with him.
-
Characters like him need to be protagonists, not shitfuckers that die to Rukia.
Dying to Rukia is about as bad as dying to the onigiri that Helmeppo chewed up, spit on the ground, then kicked dirt on it.

Exactly, I mean, he's an Espada, he should not die to mother fucking Rukia. If Rukia had to beat and Espada it should have been Yami.
-
THank the gods of logic that they didn't stay in that room.
Edit:…...... well then.
also, can they heal without orihime now? Wasn't renji burnt to a crisp, but now suddenly his shirt is unburned and he has no wounds.

Quincy witchcraft, Ishada needs to burn.

I lawl'd. She should of died to a fucking Privaron. Beat an Espada? No fucking way, if anything Chad should be the one to beat Yami, as he did rip his god damn arm off. But I guess that won't be happening, as Chad has been written to possess the ever failing trait of the jobber.
But, fuck, I love Chad's power, I'd really like to see him developed as much as Ishida is, whom I'm really starting to dislike. "Oh hey guys, my arrows don't work? WELL I'LL THROW A SWORD AT YOU."
There's just much more to Chad's power, you know. Sure, his right arm fire energy blasts, then morphs into a shield, right. So now he has a left arm that does the same as the first, just more offensively tuned, sure I can dig it. What will his left morph into? A lance? A giant claw? A mace head?
I also was looking forward to how his hollow oriented powers would function.
My innner fanboy is screaming for a rematch with Yami, just for his hollow powers to kick in and absorb the fucker. Then we get a power upgrade and an end to his jobber days.
But, then this is just wild speculation.

This chapter was actually a lot better than I had been expecting. I figured most of it would be taunts on Noitora's part and lots of disbelief from everyone else. I was pleasantly suprised to find most of it comprised of action lines and… well, action.
I really like the fact that Tesla tends to get recognition and actually gets to DO stuff, despite merely being a fraccion. He and Noitora seem to work rather well together, especially with the eyepatch thing going on, and I really hope we get to see more of his zanpakutou at some point... It seems to have some rather interesting abilities.
Noitora just gets cooler everytime I see him. Elf shoes FTW.
I find it a bit odd that Szayel's going to release already... He's certainly a strategist, and it seems to me that he would've come up with a new plan after retreating, rather than simply opting for the 'all-out' method of trying to defeat them. I'm curious as to what his release actually is, but it just doesn't seem like something he would do at the moment.

I like Noitora because I can't help but see him in little-girl braids. Also, he is a satellite dish.
So SzaelElpolloloco is basically an evil, pink-haired Espada version of Ishida? They both have a love of capes.
Edited to add: What's all this hubbub about Noitora's zanpakuto being ridiculously engineered? I thought that zanpakuto were extensions of the user's soul and thus have negligible weight? Anyway, it doesn't really look like he was aiming to kill Grimmjow, because with a weapon like that (and Noitora's alleged strength), ol' kittyboy could've easily been sliced in half. Oh Noitora you sadist.
-
At least I'm not the only one who likes him.
Sadly, there seem to be very few of us here at AP. But he does have quite a few fans out there, you just need to Google around a bit to find them.
Whenever I imagine Noitora with braids, he ends up looking like Pocahontas or something. He really just has the kind of hair for that…
Someone on another forum pointed out the Szayel/Ishida similarities after the spoiler pics were first released. That cape had better have some useful purpose, other than making Szayel look even gayer than before.
Edit: I'm not sure if they have negligible weight (I'm not entirely tech-savvy with the world of Bleach), but as far as I know, Arrancar zanpakutou aren't really swords as a seperate entity, but rather the Arrancar's sealed power represented in sword form. So, yeah, probably weightless to the Arrancar it belongs to.
I love Noi's weapon, as it's incredibly unique and seems to have a design well-suited to inflicting mass amounts of damage. Multiple sides to slash with, 4 points with which to shank people, a massive size which probably creates an extremely heavy impact upon contact with someone else's weapon... That thing is beastly.
And the latest chapter + Wikipedia now lead me to consider how to spell his name... Nnoitra? That's a bit awkward, but... Whatever. As much as I like calling him Noi, I'd prefer to use the actual spelling. Might start that from now on...

I've even seen his name romanized as Neutra before this chapter, which reminds me of nutria (a rodent). Similar teeth and all.
At least it isn't HunterxHunter style.
SzaelApollo13 has obviously used his genius mind to see that Ishida has an unnatural love/fetish for lame costumes, thus converting one of the last Quincies to the side of Aizen. Score!
-
Neutra always made me think of exploding stars, which is why I prefered Noitora. Nnoitra kinda combines the two… Everyone's happy with his new name, now.
Speaking of his teeth, he looks so incredibly wrong with both sets of them showing. Less talking, more grinning.
Ishida needs to wear that one costume he apparently designed himself from way back when. That would be amazing.

Really? A guy that has a jar for a head, filled with two skulls and red liquid, and he should be a good guy? In a shonen?
-
Being a protagonist doesn't entail being a good guy. I'd consider Grimmjow at least a semi-protagonist, because of how much screentime he gets (hell, he even got his own flashback), but he's still one of the bad guys.

Jarhead>Ichigo anyday.
A character as cool as him doesn't deserve to get killed by Rukia mother fucking Kutchki.
-
As female protagonists go in Bleach, Rukia is/was pretty cool, though. Stop weakening your female characters, Kubo Tite!
Jarhead obviously let Tousen design his costume and interior decor, wtf man.

Honestly, how long do you think Rukia's been on that trident?
-
This is shonen–more accurately, this is Bleach. No one dies in Bleach except that one guy.
Everything is happening simultaneously, so she's probably been hanging out on that floor for less than we think.

I'm well aware Rukia is alive, but still, having a trident stuck through your chest for even a few hours would kill you, but as you said this is shounen, so none of the good guys ever die.
-
Even if they do, Orihime can just revive them anyways.

She can't bring back the dead, hopefully.
