I wonder how Guts is going to get more powerful… As he is now Griffith would whoop his ass....
Berserk
-
-
well i hope the elf king hates the god hands for some reasons and that he will give guts some amazing power up. basically enchanting his sword would be great.
-
I hope he doesnt get any superpowers. The whole "guts is only a human and fighting fate" theme would be wasted.
-
You know….I wonder if Guts won't be allowed in Elfhelm because of all the killing he's done his whole life?
-

Puck would've mentioned that :
It's not purgatory or anything. -
The Dragon Slayer put a frickin' hole through Ganishka's Astral form, and permanently scarred his face. Something none of the apostles could have done, and which would have taken a formidible Intersticial being to have accomplished otherwise. The DS doesn't need a power-up; Guts just needs to be in good fighting form to continue wielding it. At the rate he's going now, his body's gonna wear out before he can get healed of that wound Slan gave him.
-
He only needs 10 seconds alone with Griffith, without any stupid apostles interfering. He's pretty much the only one that can attack Griffith without falling to his knees/babbling savior BS/crying/all at the same time :D
-
right before Griffith TK's him into a wall
-
griffith pulled a voldemort by resurecting through guts & casca's child. that might be what will crush him some day, like his body not responding when he goes to inflict the lethal blow to guts.
-
Hey guys. I've only seen the anime, but I was just wondering if somebody could give me a quick rundown on Griffith's status these days? Is he still an asshole or did he turn into a goodie two shoes again?
I've never seen Gutts as an asshole, hes just brutally honest, and very blunt

Dude he asked for Griffith.
And I think Griffith's always an asshole…

exactly. If there weren't anybody to interfere with thte battle, then Gutts ((IMO)) would just slaughter him.
BUT, do you think that griffith has some type of power that he has yet to use? cause that's what comes to mind when I think about it. SO far he's just used his steroid charisma to get where he is now and he hasn't had to use his power.
-
Guts was definitely an asshole at the beginning of the story, but later on, he simply became totally blunt.

It's his channeling spirit!!! DON
-
I would just say that Gutts lacks social skills. Griffith doesn't.
-
Griffith is definitely still an asshole. And a gigantic one at that.
Speaking of that… Am I the only one feeling kind of sorry for Charlotte? She's a pretty pathetic character, being used by Griffith and all and I wouldn't want to be in her shoes once Griffith's rise to power is complete.
-
I think everyone is sorry for her, except her
-
Yeah, Charlotte is in a shitty situation, and it's not really her fault. She was raised in an environment where she doesn't really know any better.
-
Yep, Charlotte is what we in the human language call "fucked".
-
Griffith is definitely still an asshole. And a gigantic one at that.

yeah, I feel so too. I always think "get away from that filth!" every time I see her longing for griffith :P
she's the 'duck princess' indeed! :D -

While I feel sorry for her, I think anyone on her place would have been just as easily duped. Griffith's charisma, even before he became a Godhand, has always been almost magical. I doubt there's a woman (or man) in Berserk who wouldn't at least feel tempted to believe everything he says.
What is Griffith's total goal anyway? Is it just to gain Midland as a kingdom or is it the complete submission of everyone?
-

Remember, he's still Godhand.
So whatever it is, is probably something like "hell on earth".
-
Griffith's goal has always been to rule his own nation.
However, at this point, his idea of a "nation" is probably the entire world.
-
Yeah, his goal was to have his own Kingdom. But by the time he gets that it wont be enough, he will want more and more, till he wants everything.
Tho, about the God Hand thing….I still dunno wtf is going on with that. He became part of the God Hand inorder to get his body fixed up, he became the fifth God Hand "Femto". Then the egg shaped apostle summoned some sort of screwed up eclipse and Griffith was reborn through the body of Guts and Caska's baby (Which I still don't get, and even more so after seeing that "kid".)
I really don't get any of the shit that happened around that time, including all that dream shit...
-
It's kind of confusing, personally. Does Femto still exist while Griffith's new body exists in the physical world? Wish they'd clear that up, if they haven't already.
-

I assume his transition from Femto to Neo Griffith was permanent since he was 'reborn' into the new world. Slan and Conrad only appeared temporarily, and even then could only manifest themselves through whatever realm they controlled I guess (it is kind of confusing).
I don't know if we'll ever see Femto again. Maybe if Griffith has an alternate form like his apostle brethren that might be it.
I do hope we see Void again sometime down the road. I still peg him as the ultimate string-puller behind all this (Idea nonwithstanding).

Well why would I feel sorry for her? Griffith did "LOVE" her. Kinda, Maybe…. :P
and as for the femto griffith and neo griffith thing, I still think that they're are two, like if the charismatic one is killed then the femto griffith either dies or has to return to th e real world and live there or something along the lines of that.

Evil-Genius delivers the new chapter. Get it here.
Sadly, it's late and got errands tomorrow. So gotta read whenever I can tomorrow.
-
Loved it as always. best part was the shower, and now it wasn't for nakedness either. :P
-
Can't use torrents. Buh.
-
The wait be tough, let's hold strong tho.
-
Just go to manga helpers or something, they have rapid share and sendspace etc etc. :P that's how I read it.

i finished reading nice interviews of miura in which he explains that he feels sick when he looks at the first volumes of berserk because of the quality of the drawings. ah ah, don't worry dude, that was not that bad. also, he seems like some strange fellow indeed, like, living exclusively at home, almost never going out. if i understood well, his "days" start around 7-8PM and finish somewhere around midday…
also, it's funny to discover that in the beginning he didn't really know what kind of story he would put. it's really improvisation! what's much more "interesting" is that from his latest interview i've seen, 4 years ago, he didn't look like he had the slightest idea about how berserk will finish!
anyway, he explained that he won't try to do something else in order to finish berserk. sheesh, i'm almost relieved...
EDIT: also, i finally discovered that hidden chapter from vol 13 when griffith discusses with "god". i new i read it in scans one day, but miura asked to remove it from volumes because he thought he was revealing to much things to quickly. so i felt like it was a chapter i dreamt about because when i buy volumes, i tend to delete scans from my pc. but no, it really exists... i knew i really read that "i want wings" somewhere...
-

should point out that I agree with this about 100000000000000%

That was a hidden chapter? It was in the hawks releases which seemed to be the volumes. Did they add it in?

Sounds interesting. Could you share the url with us or is it in some magazine?

do you speak french?

Wee.
Wait…what? Anyways, I'm looking for new manga to read. I have had too many suggestions in the past to remember any now. I have Fairy Tail and Trigun downloaded that I need to read. (both of which I've only read the beginning of; and I just downloaded all 48 chapters of Fairy Tail 5 mins ago)
-
Have you read Shin Angyo Onshi? I haven't read it myself (yet) but my friend said it's quite like Berserk. The only thing I can say about it is that the art of it is fantastic and very old school. At the same time. It isn't a manga, though. But a Korean comic. But if this little detail doesn't bother you too much then you can proceed to check out our very own fantasticly, I can't get enough of that word, popular and active thread for it:

Personally, when people say another manga is like another…it kinda turns me off. I don't want something similar to what I've already read. I've been hearing mangas being compared to Berserk a lot lately...and I love Berserk and just read all of it, I don't wanna go and read something "like it" anytime soon.
-
Okey. Hmmm… sorry, in that case I'm unable to give any futher recommendation. I'll always automatically compare a comic to another already existing one.
-

Griffith is just Femto manifested into the material world, basically.
As for my thoughts on his exact goals, I'm not sure. Imo, Griffith is, like, a Jesus-like false hope that everyone wants to believe to be true to save them from a greater reality, but because of this, it just might be their downfall, kinda bringing a message about humanity (of course, looking into other parts of Berserk, this is nothing new, this is just what makes Berserk one of the best manga ever :P).

Ever try 20th Century Boys and Vagabond? They're both amazing manga, really. Vagabond is kinda like Berserk in art style and such, but it's in a totally different setting and such. 20th Century Boys is an epic suspense/mystery manga that pulls you right in when you start getting into the story.
-
I've heard about both of those. Personally I'm not into suspense/mystery but I'm looking for more story in my manga (Berserk was a great start). So I guess I'll have to try those out.
Thanks.
-
I can recommend Vagabond and GANTZ. I think they are "like" Berserk, but of course not like Berserk. By this I mean that they are very different, but they still have the same elements and attitude which made me like Berserk. Check them out, if you already haven't.
@igalsfy: point taken!
-
Oh dang, I was couple of minutes late. Maybe I should check out 20th Centry Boys too since I've been looking for more mature manga to read.
Buuhan1, if you like story and especially character development, then thats what Vagabond is all about. I would say GANTZ is more about awesome action than story, but nevertheless, worth checking out.
-
I started reading Gantz years ago (take that with a dime), I'm only a few chapters behind but that is cause I wasn't impressed with some of the scanlations out at the time.
-
Try Blade of the Immortal if you have't already. Although not quite as good as Berserk, it's very good nonetheless. A few of the volumes are really intense, seriously. Give it a try.
-
If you haven't read Monster, Buuhan, you need to do it now.
-
Haven't read either, but heard about them.
