I frankly don't care, the game is months away from completion and I don't expect alot to be given away this early. I say just be glad we have this.
Super Smash Bros Brawl

Yea! Damn those lazy interns and secretaries, and additional game designers, and the lunch box guy, and those guys that do interpretive dance while dressed in traditional wear during lunch breaks… damn them for making him write his own updates (in English no less).
Sakurai stated on the old site that he personally updates the website himself.
OH MAN LOOKS LIKE SOMEBODY WAS FUCKING WRONG
-
@Cyringohn:
It's amazing how much people still bitch about the updates.
Sakurai doesn't really have to tell you anything. He could do like every other game and wait until E3, then shove it all in your face at once.
The fact that he's taking time out of his enormously busy schedule to post updates on a website just means that he's an awfully nice guy. The website is there for anybody who's interested in learning about the Smash Bros. series, not specifically for starved Brawl fans that are desperate for any tasty morsel they can cram into their mouths, then spit and shit out when it doesn't taste right to them.
Sweet Jesus, finally someone with (plural!) brain cells.
-
So let me get this straight, if somehow you think updates about HEY GUYS PUSH THIS BUTTON AND YOUR CHARACTER WILL THROW A PUNCH or garbage midi quality remixes of piss poor songs from 10 year old mediocre games are worth shit you're a dumb girl, a poo poo head and don't deserve to play Smash Bros?
Btw, there's one thing more tired than internet bitching and that's the intentionally mispelled, half assed sarcastic attempts at making fun of it.
-
I demand more free info so I can get needlessly excited about something I won't buy for another 8 months
MUST KNOW EVERYTHING TODAY

Seeing as how the website is supposed to appeal to all Smash Bros. players, even those who have never played the game before, people shouldn't be complaining. Oh, and the Yoshi Story remix was horribly savage.

E3 IS SO FAR AWAY HOW CAN PLAYERS BE EXPECTED TO WAIT A MONTH WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT

lol "free info"

If horribly savage means outrageously crap than yes, I agree.
-
I think this is just a way of channeling their rage from running out of Cheetos
lol "free info"
no information is free, all is vanity

How can you complain guys they're giving us free info! FREE INFO!! You don't have to pay for it!
-
The Yoshi Story song didn't really make me think "crappy update" because hey, it's something new. This however, just was just annoying, because we've been doing that exact same thing since the first game.
Mostly any update is alright with me, as long as it's an update, and not just a restatement.
-
Both complainers and the complainers of the complainers
suck equally as hard -
Instead of getting these constant updates on the game's progress I'd rather just sit around and complain about Fox having a "different design"
-
i dont lyke fox hes a gay furry
-
Hmmm.I kinda like fox's design…
Guess its the bias kicking in since he's my favorite character
-
garbage midi quality remixes of piss poor songs from 10 year old mediocre games
First of all, what the hell are you smoking? There's nothing MIDI about that song. Everything in I've heard from Brawl so far is basically done live.
Second, just because you can't tolerate the singing Yoshi Choir doesn't mean the song is piss poor.
And third, if anyone thinks WE'RE being whiny, you should check out the Negative Nancies over at DKVine. That's probably who's influencing me into all this bitching.
-
Coming from someone who's only played demos of one of the Starfox games (The GC one), Fox doesn't look very different to me. I haven't compared the Melee one to it, but I'd probably need someone to point out the differences before I'd notice them.

Teh uber DBZ scouter !!!!111111!!!!
IT`S OVER 9,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

There's at least one part of the song kicking in roughly in the middle that clearly sounds midi. I don't know what kind of instruments they used for it but if they tried to achieve a nostalgic Super NES feeling they succeeded.
Oh and the fact I find the song shitty has nothing to do with Yoshi's voice, where the hell did you get that from?
And Fox is even worse than Sonic as far as repulsive furry baits are concerned.

@Cyringohn:
That shit seriously needs to die.
Ugh…Quoted for the goddamn truth
-
Just be glad that Zabuza Sword horseshit didn't find its way to Arlong Park, easily the joke that has been the most ran into the ground ever.

Really? Haven't heard it, aside from a few people at GameFAQs. Can't really hang out at that place for any extended period of time without feelin' the need to perform a self-drowning in a toilet.
Most people just won't shut the fuck up about the 9,000 shit. And before that, it was the Juggernaut. People wouldn't shut up about the Juggernaut crap, despite how hilarious it is/was.
-
I cant stop listening to the Yoshi Song >> It gets good at the end.
-
Kirby and Pikachu today. Not much to say about them.
-
Yup. Hopefully, Kirby gets some new moves from his recent games (and also, restore glory to his throw/up-B moves…)
Also... Pikachu should get Volt Tackle as it's Final Smash.
-
@Cyringohn:
That shit seriously needs to die.
Nope, it`s awsome-ness is more than 9,000 !!!!!!!!!!
Plus, Ryuku is an asshole & he`s the one who should die.
-
You definitely disgrace Mr. L.
-
"Yeah… He’s the only character who really hasn’t changed much from his appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee. He’s round, pink, and soft."
I like that, however I want to see "Snake Kirby"
-
Wario Kirby will definitely be the best, especially if he becomes even fatter.
-
@Cyringohn:
You definitely disgrace Mr. L.
Mr.L is disgrace-able ?
I wonder if Kirby will be changed…at all.
Edit:
@Cyringohn:Wario Kirby will definitely be the best, especially if he becomes even fatter.
Hell yeah !!!

What I am hoping for music wise is that its a new arrangement of the main metal gear solid theme for snakes stage (shadow moses island it has to be right can't think of anything else it would be?)
-
-
Personally I don't mind them updating with profiles of veterans that we've been with since the beginning. It's a character update and as long as it involves the characters, stages, or music, that's good enough for me. Everything else I don't care about until the game's release. (In fact Sakurai should just save the 101 updates until after E3 or so)
Besides I'm happy that Sakurai is getting the veterans out of the way first. Especially since Pikachu is one of my personal best characters. That might mean we're getting info on Pikachu's Final Smash soon. (Personally, I think Volt Tackle might just replace Skull Bash as his Forward+B while his Final Smash is, I dunno, Thunderbolt? Charge Beam?) Or since Kirby's profile is up, we might get Metaknight, The Halberd Stage, the music to it, or Kirby's Final Smash soon. (I do want to know how that move works. Does it only boil the guy closest to Kirby or does he suck everyone into the pot while banging his little cooking implements just like in the actual Kirby games?)
Now that Pikachu and Kirby are taken care of, that only leaves Samus as the only veteran from the first trailer to get a profile update (Well there's Fox but he didn't appear until Nintendo World and it's trailer) and I'm assuming she's being saved for when Zero Suit Samus gets her profile up. Then we can move onto the newcomers and pretty much the remaining veterans. (DK, Cpt. Falcon, Yoshi, and maybe Peach, Zelda, Bowser, and Ice Climbers)
What I am hoping for music wise is that its a new arrangement of the main metal gear solid theme for snakes stage (shadow moses island it has to be right can't think of anything else it would be?)
June 7th, 2007 08:51 AMShadow Moses Island is pretty much going to be Snake's stage since there's a stage like it in the old November trailer and Kojima himself is designing it. Since one of the composers for MGS (I think) is also lined up for the music for this game, who knows? We might just get a kickass MGS song in the beginning.
-
Kirby's Final Smash is likely to be a command grab, in one form or another. There isn't really any other way of accomplishing it.
-
@Cyringohn:

No, it's going to be the move from the first trailer, where he cooks them all up into the soup.
It was a move that was used in the GBA version of Kirby. It was like, Magic Mirrors or something.
And PLEASE, bring on the new characters already. lol
-
It was also in Kirby Super Star. He summoned a giant cooking pot that sucked in all of the enemies that were on-screen and turned them into food.
-
Cook was the best power in any Kirby game.
Another good Final Smash would be the microphone.
-
Dude, they should make the microphone from Kirby an item. Be like when you get hit by Venusaur's earthquake but you get three of them just like Kirby did. So it would go what? Since I know he does a megaphone and microphone plus one other thing in the mic combo.
-
I liked in the 64 game that you could turn Kirby into a fridge and spew food out to attack enemies. Combine ice and electric~
-
Supposed control information from ONM. Like the majority of stuff I post in this thread it's probably bullshit but hey, it kills time.
-
No, it's going to be the move from the first trailer, where he cooks them all up into the soup.
…Yes, that was already assumed.
However, the only real way to create a cutscene-esque attack is to make it a command grab. They could make it occur when connecting with a move [and wasting it if you miss], but that'd be extremely situational and hard to do, especially when characters like Mario can obviously ruin your shit from galaxies away.
-
I thought kirby would have several final smash'es with any form he takes the Final Smash would change but I guess that would not really be fair…
-
Now for a REAL update.
http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/index.html
Brawl is conpatable with ALL possible Wii controls.
Wii-mote sideways (check)
Wii-Mote with nunchuck (check)
Classic Control (check)
GC Remote (check)
AWESOME.
-
Yeah it is good that I don't have to go out and buy a Classic to play this. But I am curious to the Wii-mote sideways.
-
I've said this before and I'll say it again…
Smash Bros. could be played with an NES controller...
Ctrl-Pad: Move, Duck, Jump
Select (Press): Grab
Select (Hold): Shield
Start: Pause
B: Special Attacks
A: Regular AttacksWhen you press a direction and 'A' at the same time it will do a Smash Attack... When you hold a direction and press 'A' the "Hold" Attack will be executed... It's not much different from the control scheme in Melee if you think about it.
How I guess It'll work with the Wii remote sideways is simular to this...
D-Pad: Move, Duck, Jump
A: Grab (Shield)
+: Pause
-: Taunt
1: Special Moves
2: Regular Moves -
While I'm interested in seeing how the Remote and Nunchak work, I'm likely to use the GC controller as it's one of my favourite controllers.
-
I wonder how Wii-mote sideways will work…
EDIT: That's like playing N64 on the computer... not like I would know, but... >_>
-
See, this is why Sakurai is badass.
"So… we've got four possible control schemes? Fuck it, we're using them all."
-
Yeah the new update is pretty awesome. I'll still be using the Gamecube or Classic controller probably though but I'll most definitely try each one out.
