Damn, they're both looking awesome. Rydia looks gorgeous.
And… I never expected Yang to be a blonde. Har.
Are Rydia and Rosa doing some kind of dual tech in that bottom screen?

This somehow makes Yang all that more awesome to me.
Adult Rydia looks freaking sexy & Yang even MORE, but ROFL on his lame-ass 32-bit game look.
Sees new scans Must have this game!
Wow, Yang and Rydia look really good. I was always expected yang with brown instead of blonde though. I can't wait for bthis to come out. I want to see Cid now.
@Carter
I think you're right, they are doing a team-up spell.
Love how Yang looks badass (thought he'd have white hair instead, but that doesn't matter), but kinda cheesy in an actual gameplay screenshot.
Now about this team-up spell… unless I missed it I wonder what'll be added to the battle system. And if/whatever is added, if it'll be like that from the start of the game or unlocked later on (like the special commands I never got in the GBA version).
New gameplay mechanic:
Whatever your reaction may be, the fact of the matter is I'm telling the truth! In the most recent Jump magazine scan, it is revealed that one of the newer features to grace the Final Fantasy IV DS remake is the ability of your (main) party members to inherit the abilities of former party members.

If posted then regard as filler.
Man, I hope that doesn't mean that we won't be able to switch members :(
Tellahhhhh

Scroll down for a picture of Palom and Porom! Wow, they seem to be pumping out new pictures and information by the day!
As for the new "Decant Ability System," I don't think I'll use on my first playthrough. Why? Well, one of the things I like about FF4 is that every character has something special about him or her; some may have the same class/be able to use the same kind of magic, but they all have at least one unique abilty. So, I won't use it on the first playthrough, but maybe on subsequent ones (that is, unless it's required, but I don't think they'll do that).
If they add anything to the character's abilities, I hope Cain could get more than just "Jump." Maybe he can get Dragon Magics like on FF9(one of my favorite FF's).
Damn Rydia looks hot.
As for Yang, I did not expect blonde hair.
As for the twins…they look like garden gnomes...then again I never liked them that much.
This main new feature of the game seems very promising; but what I'm more interested in knowing is whether or not you'll have the ability to replace your party members with those former party members towards the end game as you could in the GBA port of Final Fantasy IV. I enjoyed taking Palom & Porom with me to the final battle.
Pretty much how I've felt so far. I love the idea behind this new system and truth be told, I'd love to see some extra abilities that can be "collected", say samurai style moves, Blue mage style moves and so on. I also wonder if you can chop and change abilities, like remove Edge's thief based abilities (been a while but I'm pretty sure he had some) and replace them with Yang's monk based abilities.
The twins look suspiciously like Tarutaru.
Cecil's dark knight form still looks like crap. I was hoping those were just early shots and they'd be doing some clean up so he didn't look so feminine.
At least the others look good. Yang having blonde hair just gives support to the notion that he is Sabin's ancestor (from anudder world). That earns him big points in my book!
Have the FFIV characters always had last names?
Some did…
Rydia, Tellah, FuSoYa, Palom, & Porom are the only ones with no known last names...
Cecil Harvey
Rosa Farrel
Kain Highwind
Yang Feng Leiden
Edward Chris von Muir
Edward "Edge" Geraldine
Cid Pollendina

I always thought it was strange that they changed "Gilbert" to "Edward". Although I like "Edward" better for the name of a bard, it was strange because now the game has two Edwards (since I think Edge's real name in Japanese and English is Edward).

We haveth two new scans! And what is that I spy? A RELEASE DATE! Boy, December twentieth can't come soon enough! I'll probably import, since I've played through the PlayStation and GBA versions numerous times. When it comes stateside, I'll also buy it, just so I can understand all the new content.
I'd rather wait for an english release, since RPGs in languages I can't read don't go well with me.
But anyway, could someone explain the block-headed things in the first link? Seems kinda interesting.
If the US release date isn't very far away, I'll probably wait. If I remember correctly, III DS's stateside release was only a couple of months after the Japanese one. Maybe IV will be the same way. Though, a simultaneous release is probably too much to hope for.
I can't believe I'm just noticing that they added the ATB for this one. If I remember, that wasn't in the original.
I think some kind of ATB was in the original FFIV, but nothing like what was used in IV - IX. Personally I welcome the addition.
rydia looks cool ..
Tellah anf Yang on the other hand..what Happened?
also..whats the little creature suposed to be?
ATB was only in the GBA version. I think it wasnt in the SNES version
any pics of golbez or the wizard from the Underground or in the overworld giant yet?
ATB was in the original version of IV, but there wasn't a visual timer bar.
I'm happy that the second screen will be used for something during battles; even though it's put to minimal use, it's still better than just leaving it blank like in the III remake. And yeah, any explanation on what those block-headed things are (Poochika?) would be nice.

Then again I don't think it's ever been said it would be done in english (correct me if I'm wrong, puh-leeez?). Even though I can't see why it would be japan-only, can't say something's definate 'til it's… well... definate!

The newest trailer from TGS! Voice acting has been confirmed for important scenes by those who played the hands-on preview (I don't have the links but they should be easy to find).
I am so totally psyched!
I saw Golbez! Awesome.
Rydia summoning Leviathan looked so good. I can't wait for this to come out.
I'm thinking that's the Mist Dragon… Leviathan usually summons a Tidal wave, This seems to be a breath attack...

yes that is the mist dragon…weird now it has leviathan body shape.
Golbez looks cool now.

Oh yeah…well I feel stupid now.
is the game still going to have the post game and the Mountain cave trials?
I'm pretty sure that hasn't been confirmed yet, but I'd like to think so (even if I never got to beat the game and try it, but that's another story).
And that video was pretty neat. Definately a step-up from III in graphics.
It's the same video, only now you can hear the voices and the Theme of Love vocal remix clearly.
Is Kain's voice really that deep? Or is it just Golbez speaking. I can't tell on certain parts.
Golbez's voice is perfect for him. it sounds so…...evil. The really deep voice, I'm pretty sure it's Cain.

Very awesome.
Voice acting on the DS? Fuck yeah!
Kickass! Now if they can just add an option for the English ver. to play with the JP voices, this game would rock even more.
The way the scarves are drawn look lame…
