The old man wasn't a zombie, he LOOKED like a zombie. He was still alive.
Chapter 452: "Jigoro of the Wind" Discussion

The old man had "7" on his head so he is early in the numbering and doesn't appear to follow Moria but live in fear. On top of the knowledge he calls himself and old man and not a zombie…
I cant find this 7 you are talking about… the only thing i can see that could be mistakeble for a 7 is the scarr through his left eye when he closed it. but that cant be considered a number since its not visible at all when he has his eyes open.
the old man seems to be alive imo, and he speaks of others in the forest.
and brook told us about another that had lost his shadow in his flashback right?
-
Yeah, the guy that got burnt up when he hit sunlight.
-
Hey, this just got to me…
Maybe Moria has the Life Life Fruit?
I was looking at the old man, and he does seems like a Zombie. Maybe Moria steals the life (and along with it, the personality and shadow) of the person and transfers it to a Zombie. The victim is left as a husk (like the old man, whose body he says "does not feel like living anymore").
If that is the case, I wanna see the "unliving" versions (not the zombie with their personalities) of Luffy, Zoro and Sanji! ^_^

What if Absalom's power isn't invisibility, but Astral Projection? If it was really invisibility, he would've escaped from Lola, not to mention he wouldn't be walking around (Zombie General's tomb, through the halls). Doflamingo seems to exert some control over people from a distance, like a puppeteer, but how about a fruit that can see (and move) independently of the user's body?

The problem is: we SAW Absalon transforming from invisible to visible in the scene where he first calls out the zombies (chapter 449).
-
Wouldn't Perona be Astral Projection?
-
Cute chapter. I think I literally have nothing else to say about it aside from the fact that it's neat to see how they're moving characters around after capture.
-
I think the gun guy will show up and raise hell next chapter.

Yah, I really like him. I think he's my favourite out of all the zombie generals.
Also, that spider monkey thing is an utter abomination.

i miss monday spoilers :<

Yeah, I don't know why everyone freaked out about the spider. John and gunguy are player own.
-
I've got to say, while I really enjoyed this chapter, I don't have anything too profound to say about it (Then why am I writing this comment?). Really, the chapter was awesome, enough said. I can't wait for the next!

If that's the case, why is Brooke so full of life? He would contradict that. Besides, Brooke ate the Yomi Yomi no Mi, which is close enough to the life life fruit to make it cliche if Moria ate it.
-
Not having a shadow does not affect who you are at all.
-

Yeah, that's what I think, the only change is that you die under sunlight.
But what is the shadow ? The copy of a soul ? -
@Impel:

Don't forget that you are unable to cast a reflection in the mirror. Like it was shown when Brooke boarded the Thousand Sunny.
-
I mean to your personallty and fighting style and stuff.

What does that have to do with what I said? I said that those who have lost their shadows MAY seem like unliving, because their life has been stolen. That would explain why the old man looks like a Zombie.
Brooke? Brooke is a freaking skeleton! We can't judge him by his appearance.
The fact that Brooke is "full of life" does not negate my theory. I said their appearance is that of a unliving thing, not that they lose their will to live or become all morose and lethargic!

I think you two got different concepts of "Full of Life". I think FFA was think more in emotions (Brook being jumppy ect.) and You where thiniking in apperence (old man looking like zombie, but might not be one).
I think your theory about Body Vitality with and with out shadows holds water. This would explain why the old man said he wasn't a zombie.
But the idea of the life life fruit seems like it would clash with Brook's. Then again Oda could of intended this.
-
Except your shadow isn't the same as your life. Without your shadow, it's not like you live forever.
-
Oda is awesome. He's just wow. I was re watching Jaya arc and checked in the manga, and Luffy was also wearing a suit of armor that they found when they went underwater to the ship that was being salvaged.

Unless you happen to be Bulbasaur.
-
Wonder why Luffy likes armors so much… does he really want to be a knight rather then a Pirate but just messed up the concepts?
i mean with him helping everyone and everything theres a lot of chivalry in him but he doeesnt really commit any acts of piracy imo. he fights the marine but never the civilians. (only act of theft i can think of is in skypiea but that doesnt count as they dont care about gold)

I think he just wants to play Knights.
-
Because who the hell wouldn't want to put on a suit of armor? I know I would if I ever got the chance.
-
I'm surprised it didn't interfere with his fighting style.
RANDOM IDEA: You know what would be cool and/or fanwank? A character who wears a suit of SEASTONE ARMOR. -

C'mon, thinking about stuff like that?
Luffy explained VERY [seriously] clearly, the armour is a big chuck of romance!
Just like with a Musician, Kabuto, Skypiea, bounties, etc.
Hell, he even chooses his nakama this way. -
i liked your previous avatar better Rai =(
